[Q] Help me, can't get into download mode - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My nephew's galaxy note was stuck at the boot screen. It was never rooted or anything, just stock. I couldn't get in recovery, only DOWNLOAD mode. I was just messing a bit a around with it and flashed the n7000_16gb custom pit file through odin. It didn't do anything , so after like 15 minutes I just pulled the usb out. Now it won't even boot into download mode (JIG). I also installed the latest samsung drivers through KIES.
Can you help me please , I don't know what to do anymore.....

You most likely bricked the device. Take it to the Samsung service center.

Just the pit will not do anything.. Remove the battery for some time and later try to boot into download mode.. If it gets into it, then flash a stock rom.

I tried and tried, but it just won't work at all (steps 7-10 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1354888). Pfff I totally messed it up...

@JigsterNL did you try what @nokiamodeln91 suggested?
Take battery out for some time. Then power+home+volume down ?
Just a thought your battery is fully charged or at least 80% charged?
I am very much also in the learning curve but will try to help if I can.
I have learned to follow advice from users like nokiamodeln91 to the letter.
Shalom and best wishes, john
a soft answer turns away anger as rudeness turns away potential users.

Samsung Galaxy S
Battery back in.
Phone still unresponsive.
You can still force the phone into DL mode by using a JIG. Have you tried that?
JIGs can be bought on Amazon or you can just build one yourself.

BTW: What happens, if you connect it to your PC via USB?
Did you have the proper drivers installed on your pc for your galaxy s?

You can also build one if you are used to soldering. It's not that hard Anyways seems as if your problem can't be solved within a minute. If you have a local shop that sells electronic stuff, you can go and search for the parts needed to build that JIG It's nearly impossible to COMPLETELY brick your phone, so I guess this method will work!
Best Regards!

Hahaa I'm useless with things like that, I wouldn't want to do any more damage, I'll just buy one!
Thanks a lot mate
Jig should work just fine, I know from hard experience! Strange that the three-button method does not get you into dl-mode.How did you originally enter download? Through the three button method or from some reboot option? And which Android version/build were you attempting to replace?

If you manage to really brick the device, I reckon that download mode can also become broken.
JIG May Solve ur Problem Bro'
Waiting for a jig to come in the post. If not I'll just claim it on insurance and get a new one.

The jig should work mate the galaxy s series are virtually impossible to completely "brick". once u get your jig remove your battery for a minute then put it back together and use the jig to get into download mode... since ur phone is completely unresponsive it means there is no firmware or rom on your phone so u will have to start from scratch and install a 3file rom and then a cf+root. Then u will be sweet to start flashing your rom's through recovery mode much easier than dealing with odin. Hope this helps mate

Just like he said... Flash The Stock ROM via ODIN. I tried Installing the same Cusom ROM like 4 times and flashed the stock one and it worked perfect.
I agree. Flash ICS. I like N7000XXLRT. Do not do full wipe! You will brick your phone. If you want root and Clockworkmod Recovery, flash an Odin version of Speedmod kernel. When Speedmod is flashed you can do a full wipe.
Google this : speedmod-kernel-n7000-ics-k3-13-Odin.tar
Will this brick be the hard brick a Samsung jig has no use for? I'm sure I have done this on my note by accident.
it depends if the phone responds to pc and is able to go to download mode.. then chances are there that it can be revived. but if its totally dead then ... samsung service
I have Justplugged my phone into pc and as I stated yesterday it is throwing USB not recognised errors. As I can't get onto any mode I'm hoping a jig will get me into download mode to use Odin as Samsung service is miles away from home.. If all else fails looks like I'll be throwing my much loved note in the bin and purchasing an s3
may be jig will help u.. but if its under warranty then go for that.. i dont prefer s3 much but note 2
ITs not under warranty so that's a no go. My jig will be here tomorrow and have bought two off different sellers for £1.50 on eBay. Wish me luck
good luck mate
Nope, this USB jig hasn't helped me looks like have a paperweight and a hefty bit of my wages going out for a new phone
if u still love the note go for a motherboard replacement
I have found a jtag service in the uk from a good reviewed website. I'm goin to give this a try as it doesn't break the bank and seems legit.

It's not a 100% sure solution. Only a few had a problem worth to use it in our device. In my knowledge, most of them succeeded to get in to the download mode(That's not assuring you will). :fingers-crossed: Keep your battery fully charged by any other methods.
You can try it yourself. You can get one for just $1.6 from here or build one using this guide

Thank you!, i will try to buy one, i just did not saw any video in youtube describing my problem i think its just full brick and can't be fixed
nope. not turning on was full brick, u need unbrickable mod (UBM), jig for error entering download mode with 3 button combo or adb
n is it really brick? try charge it, juz plug da fone n leave it for 2 hours n boot it after that
n for ur info, error in flashing will result in middle or softbrick, if doesnt even turn on after flashing something with odin, then its not i9000 as flash i9003 with i9000 rom will result in full brick (which mean u need UBM for this problem)

GT-N7000 bricked?
Good day
I am new in this forum, but please help. the following summarizes my problem:
1: I upgraded it to 4.1.2 using N7000UBLSF_N7000UUBLSF_TTT about 2 months ago using Odin. It worked well
2. latter I tried to root with PhilZ-cwm6-UBLSF-UBB-4.87.6.tar.md5 using Odin. It was not successful, instead, it brought a yellow triangle with with an exclamation mark inside while booting up, but, it still worked well.
3. Yesterday, i tried to root it again with http://205.196.123.93/16u53bf954yg/6bxp34p353tf8ob/PhilZ-cwm6-XXLSZ-OXA-4.63-signed.zip. It rooted quit alright but with the yellow triangle still there.
4. I then tried to remove the yellow bang with this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1354888
5. my phone went off totally. i tried the Jig, no effect. Plugged it to the computer and still no sign of life. How can i solve this?
I will appreciate any help rendered.

Its not good practice to hijack a thread in the middle of someone seeking help... If you really need to, start your own. I realise this is your first post, just letting you know how it works.
Philz kernels are meant to be flashed from recovery, not odin which is why you got the yellow triangle. I have no idea what method you took to remove yellow triangle, but easiest way is to use triangleaway from the play store.
You rooted correctly the first time and it was successful, you then tried to flash an incompatible Philz kernel which is why it won't boot. Flash a full rom using pc odin and start again, and read the instructions fully next time.

If you can't enter download mode with jig it's fully bricked and needs a motherboard replacement under warranty.

No, warrantees don't cover intentional damage. You can recover a bricked phone for $50 US with the JTAG process. See www.mobiletechvideos.com.

What do you mean by international damage? more so, $50 is not a problem, shipping from and to Africa is more e xpensive and quite unsafe
Kies did not recorgnizes my phone
I have to say thanks to God and you people. I finally Got my phone working. Presently, I run 4.1.2 (N7000UBLSF_N7000UUBLSF_TTT) with kernel version 3.0.31-906407 rooted PhilZ-cwm6-UBLSF-UBB-4.87.6.tar.md5 using Odin. [Q] possibly hard bricked SCH-i800, installed wrong rom

Thanks anyone for any answers in advance
OK so I was running cm10 a couple months ago. It was fine for about a week until it just sit down and when I restarted the tab, it only went into a loop. So I was trying to go into recovery mode and it was working. My lap top wasn't reading the tab. Maybe cuz it had a virus. I solved the virus but I accidentally did an update with wine uscellular software updator and it was still looping at bootloader. Then I thought I had the right. Tar file
And it was the wrong one, it was for the Samsung fascinate. So now it won't even go into download mode.
Only thing it does is the flash turns on when I plug it into her supply into wall socket.
This is the screen
help would be greatly appreciated. Just want to get it back to stock
Thanks
???
Nothing , no one has an answer. Not even a noob comment?
Not much to say when someone flashed a wrong ROM....
If your bootloader is overwritten, you can't get to download mode. Not sure if resurrection mod works for your tab.
Which means JTAG is your only option.
