There are few post with modems. But which one is actually the latest? As of 17.01.2014
Latest one here.

I've been using Darky's ROM for a while, because it seemed really user friendly to install and had a lot of support for a new Android user. As I'm getting a little more comfortable, I'd like to create a custom ROM using the Rom Kitchen.
My question is, can someone clarify the difference between JVB, JVH, etc? Are these just firmware revisions (2.3.3, 2.3.4)? Also, I'm unsure of what the CSC and Modem are for...if I use the wrong one, will this prevent me from getting service in my country? I am on Bell Mobility in Canada...which CSC/Modem should I use?
Thanks!

Jvb, jvh etc are not different revisions, just different builds of the same firmware version, usually made for different regions. Each one is tweaked slightly differently to read the forums to get peoples opinions on each one.
The modem is the radio for 3g and wifi. Again, each is slightly tweaked for different regions so get views on which is best for you in the forum.
The csc handles the localization and adds the carriers and apns for different regions. Again, look in the forum for the one that covers your region.
Both modems and csc files can be flashed easily over any ROM from cwm.

Thanks, rschenck! For gingerbread, we currently have JVB and JVH correct? Are there any others?
So, if an app says "ported to JVH" does this mean that it won't work on JVB? Assuming that they are just different builds of the same firmware I would have assumed that it would work. Do you know of anywhere I can get information on which builds are currently released/available?
I understand the CSC and Modem clearly now, thank you

It means it will definetly work on jvh based roms. As for any other build, you would need to ask in the thread of the person who posted it.

Hi all,
I'm hoping someone may be able to point me in the direction of a 3 (Three) UK modem for the Galaxy S3 LTE (i9305)??
I've looked through the modems thread but cannot find anything suitable?
I flashed a ROM the other day which changed my modem and now my mobile signal has deteriorated... I don't want to really have to flash Stock just to get the modem back!
Anyone please?
Erm, which stock ROM were you on? Do you remember the version code?

That's the latest stock firmware for H3G
They're using the I9305NEUEML2 modem. So, grab that.
EDIT:
If you can't find that modem, download that firmware and extract the modem from the package (rename from tar.md5, to .tar and open with 7zip. Extract modem.bin - flash the .bin as normal with Odin).
I use three and im using the uemk1 modem and its great. For some reason I cant get a lte signal on three even though there coverage says I can with any of the roms and modems ive tried

Hi,
I'm using Paranoid Android 4.5 Alpha 2 and I wonder how to update modem baseband to latest version without losing my actual configuration and ROM.
Is it possible?
If so, can you tell me how and what do I need.
Thanks by advance

why do you want to flash baseband?
Because I have issues with phone calls.
So I would like to take advantage of the latest baseband that would maybe fix those.

it might be an operator issue/rom bug.
dont fiddle with the baseband
It's not an operator problem.
So I suppose the problem is from my side (phone).
I used to have a Nexus 4 and ROM and baseband are 2 different things that you can flash independently.
Are you sure it's not the same with Xperia Z?
I already saw some topics with titles like Baseband Generic US something. But I did not find any Generic FR at the latest version.

You can download the french firmware and just flash the baseband from flashtool
Edit: Why dont you try EU firmware
I found out one topic for generic FR latest firmware and I used your trick flashing only the baseband.
Thanks!
Now I will see with the time if it's making my phone work better.

:highfive::good:
Looking for the latest Tmo flashable modems.
Thanks,
Does anyone keep all the modem releases? I think it would be nice to have a dedicated thread with only modem .zips that can be flashed. I have T-Mobile N920t and I'm on Khongloi S8+ Port V8 and the modem is terrible. I recall having a modem on one of the earlier builds that gave me much much better reception. This is what has led me to create this thread. Any and everyone who posts a flashable modem .zip I will thank them and place link in original post for easy finding along with what version of Note 5 it goes with.
