Q&A Thread
This thread is a place where you can talk about everything of this ROM: Q&A, bugs, problems, fixes... I created this thread late, but is never too late from this moment please make development thread cleaner.
Development thread: [ROM] ParanoidAndroid 3.99 RC2
Common Questions
Q: I'm on Gingerbread, how can I install this ROM?
A: First update to official Jelly Bean, then install as every custom ROM.
Q: How can I update this ROM?
A: Just download updated build and flash it. No need to wipe anything.
Q: I have GT-I9070P. Three questions for you:
Why my Mobile Network (called "RIL") is not working?
How can I make "I9070P" visible into device infos?
If I make a nandroid backup of stock ROM before install this, later when I try to restore it I get an error. Why and how I can solve this?
A: Simple
I9070 and I9070P are almost identical, except for NFC and RIL. You have to change tee folder under /system/lib of flashable zip to make RIL working.
I made a flashable zip containing tee folder for I9070P and a modded build.prop that shows I9070P instead of I9070. Just flash it.
Almost all custom ROMS are for I9070, when you make nandroid backup of stock ROM, recovery mode recognizes that the backup is of an I9070P. When you install these CM-based ROMS, your device is recognized as I9070. Just flash my flashable zip to make restore working.
You can find flashable zip here. Remember that if you install latest build or update to it, flash latest device-specific zip too!
Q: I'm here again with my GT-I9070P. I want to restore my stock ROM but I'm on CM10.1/10.2/11 ROM. Can I use your flashable zip to enable restore from these ROMS too?
A: Yes, you can. Just flash it, reboot recovery and restore your backup.
Q: On GT-I9070P, if I make a backup of your ROM to try another ROM, how can I restore if my device is recognized as I9070?
A: Just read the answer on top of this question.
Q: I have GT-I9070P. Why NFC doesn't work on CM-based ROMS?
A: NFC doesn't work because there are built on GT-I9070 source code that doesn't have NFC.
Q: If I change some libraries, can I make NFC working on GT-I9070P with these ROMS?
A: Impossible. NFC driver is a part of kernel.
Q: How can I add new tiles into Quick Settings panel?
A: Go to Settings>Toolbars>Quick Settings panel>Tiles and layouts>Add to add new tiles.
Q: Why there is no Torch app included into this ROM?
A: Torch app is not a part of ParanoidAndroid ROM. If I add it into builds is not Open Source because I'm using a prebuilt component from another ROM.
Q: I downloaded a Torch app from Play Store, but Torch tile into Quick Settings panel is not working. Why?
A: Tile is not working because is linked to CyanogenMod's Torch app. You can make it working using this flashable zip that installs CM Torch.
Q: I use BlackBerry Messaging app, why when I receive a notification its sound isn't played or device reboots?
A: BBM app doesn't fully work with CM-based ROMS.

If you install 20130113 build install 20130113 device-specific, the same for 20130117. If you update the ROM, for example from 20130113 to 20130117 install device-specific zip of the same day too

Only if you want to make restore of another ROM working on recovery, but you can't change another ROM's build.prop and boot it. If you want flashable tee only just download it from my Dev-Host account. It's available under "Misc" category.

I did nothing with the phone in these two hours.
Just 5 apps installed. Anf removed some other apps.
But its very smooth. Thanks anyway.

Out of curiosity, does this NEED the Chainfire ICS repack as a base and then the CM9 install here just overwrites whatever files are necessary? Or do you ask us to do it only because you need certain things like the kernel, etc?

It can be installed over repack or over other AOSP based ROM.
It just needs to be flashed from recovery on ICS kernel to be fully and properly rooted.

First time installing Ganbarou GT-N7000 to your Galaxy Note, or coming from another ROM:
READ FAQs:*http://teamhacksung.org/wiki/index.p...sked_Questions
Make sure you're running a proper working ClockworkMod-Recovery
DON'T flash FROM ANY SAMSUNG ICS!
If you want to have a safe kernel, you might want to flash this kernel with Odin :*http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...4&d=1337346991
Copy Ganbarou ZIP to your internal SDCard
Boot into Recovery
Flash Ganbarou zip
DO A DATA WIPE / FACTORY RESET (otherwise your calendar sync will not work)
Reboot
Don't restore Apps using Titanium Backup!
Upgrading from earlier Teamhacksung build or Cyanogenmod nightlies or Ganbarou nightlies (NOT Imilka's or any other build):
Copy Ganbarou ZIP to your internal SDCard
Boot into Recovery
Flash Ganbarou zip
Wipe cache partition and dalvik-cache
Reboot

It is the fastest rom I have tried on my xperia pro till now... Great job mate... :good:
I am loving this rom but there are a few bugs...
1. When I try to swipe away a notification... It opens it instead...
2. The keyboard map is not properly configured which is not a issue.. But still
3. The keyboard led is also not working...

Hi all!
Since many ppl ask for this I thought a thread would be good to share settings and solutions.
After switching to CM11 (Evil Sniper's ROM) while waiting for a new 3.1 kernel with 32RH - which I'll add here - I started experimenting a little with zram/swap and settings.

This is my best configuration to date, the one I would suggest everyone to try (in this order):
flash TDT script for swappiness and many tweaks (a couple of them enabled with Terminal)
+ flash Pengus Swapenabler
+ Greenify to hibernate all battery killers (facebook, skype, whatsapp, viber, etc...)
+ AutoKiller Memory Optimizer set on "strict mode" to keep a good amount of available RAM
PS: you need to enable init.d scripts...read in TDT thread, first messages!
Now my phone is smooth like a fresh install everyday !!!
Feel free to try with personal configurations and parameters set on/off and report
You are the best , and great friend, thanks, your configs works like a charm

I'm using the latest Evil Sniper's 20140302. Which you can use also on p990 flashing pengus kernel. Evil is pushing a new build tomorrow btw
However this setup works with any rom. Actually all parts are even device independent, but pengus swapenabler, which is for LG optimus 2x only !
You may want to try and see what's best for yourself and add one component at the time and experiment with features on/off...
good luck :fingers-crossed:

hello bro, you use the 20140302 rom right, do you use p990 or su660? in my p990 the wifi can't turn on i have to downgrade to 20140226.
and regarding the TDT script, i recommend that you be careful to flash that due to your previous init.d is removed automatically, and if you add another script, your phone will be boot loop. of course it can easily fix by adb from your recovery.

oh and how about the cm20140302 rom with kk kernel alpha 31, it should work or shouldn't work for the wifi?

Yes ! Exactly
To check if it's working: open Terminal and type "su", then "free -m" you'll see your swap memory there...if it's all zero is not working.
@antec123 you can try flashing pengus swapenabler AFTER tdt. I also changed first post with correct order
About evil sniper's rom on p990 I can't help you...I have su660.

well
i remove swappenbler by pengus, and reinstall tdt and perfomance control.
my configs zram 50% swappiness 65 , now works like a charm

I think that the TDT is not correct for our 2x,
1 - in my case, the rom tony Cm11 is not an Kitkat 100%, is based on android 4.1, I'm not sure, or maybe ICS. I have repaired. is a friend of mine with the official rom ICs, AnTuTu had in 7500, now has 11000, I will try to install another Tdk,
excuse my English.
Auto killer
I thought that auto killer would only mess up androids own auto killing process?
//Aizotech
Before to install we need to unistall everything in init.d ? I mean 90kowalsky etc too or we have to delete just eventual other RAM script we have installed before? (Noone in my case)

Welcome to JASBR!
Just Another Stock Based Rom
Yes, this rom is very similar to NoleKat, but is based on the latest T210 firmware I could find (OB1-Feb.2015)
No, it does not have any theming.
No, I don't plan on theming it.
Yes, it works for both T210 and T210R (maybe T2105, give it a try and let us know).
Full version
Mildly debloated. Most apps available in the Play Store have been removed. Most of Samsung bloat is still present, but you can disable anything you don't want using any package control app (Titanium Backup). Rom zip about 650mb.
LITE version
This is a highly debloated stock-based rom that is very light, but still has some good mods that enhance the user experience. I have removed most of the Samsung stuff and just about everything that is available in the Play Store (including Gmail, Hangouts, etc...). I did leave a few things (ex. camera, gallery, file manager) that I prefer using. The rom zip is only around 400mb. Nova launcher is installed as a data app, so you can replace it if you prefer.
Be aware that the LITE version of this rom is heavily debloated and has most Samsung dependant apps removed. If you rely on those things, use the full version of the rom.
FEATURES
Based on Feb 2015 T210 Italy firmware
Deodexed
init.d
sqlite
Rooted - power by SuperSU
Busybox
App Ops enabled
4-Way Reboot
4-Way Multi-window
Most all apps that are available in the Play Store have been removed
Added secondary symbols to keyboard
External sdcard fix for KitKat
Custom Boot Animation
Safe volume warning popup removed
Airplane mode warning popup removed
IR Blaster does work (for T210R users)
Silent boot sound
Annoying "SD card inserted" notification message removed
INSTALLATION
Download rom from link below
Boot into your custom recovery (recommend latest TWRP)
Perform a factory reset / full wipe (rom install does not wipe data)
Flash rom zip
Choose options in Aroma installer
Reboot and enjoy
Report back any bugs you find
I recommend a full wipe, but you can always try a dirty flash.
SCREENSHOTS
Coming soon - maybe. You guys know what Nova looks like.

lucky i visit tab 3 thread again and found a new rom
my stock rom is getting worse and worse everyday so i go try this later, thanks for the update!!
edit: i got an force close on "Setup wizard"
i try to clean + flash again, right now remove the phservice and still i got the same error
i'm using twrp v2.8.7.0 & my tab SM-T210
2nd: already solve the problem using your custom bootanimation
i wanna use the stock one ( not because i hate yours, i just like stock bootanimation )
hope you will fix this issue, once again thanks for the wonderful rom, very smooth
I have the same problem as the guy above. Setup wizard force closing but for me it doesn't matter if I use the custom or stock boot animation. Can't even test the rom out because of it.

After flashing the ROM I'm greeted with a prompt to select my language, followed by a prompt to choose a wifi network. However, when attempting to enter the password for my wifi network the keyboard fails to launch correctly using all 4 of the different ROM flash configurations for phservice and the launch screen. If I attempt to click the "skip" button, I go to an all black screen except for the battery icon. From the all black screen I can expand the notification bar, but nothing will launch from the notification bar, and I can raise or lower the volume.
I've attached logcats for each of the configurations, except the configuration with neither option selected
