Out of curiosity, does this NEED the Chainfire ICS repack as a base and then the CM9 install here just overwrites whatever files are necessary? Or do you ask us to do it only because you need certain things like the kernel, etc?

It can be installed over repack or over other AOSP based ROM.
It just needs to be flashed from recovery on ICS kernel to be fully and properly rooted.

No this is plain AOSP with some tweaks to make it work like a Google ROM.
All other enhancements will be in Codename Android ROM and we are porting the all of the custom stuff into 4.0.4.
We are not going to be merging the 4.0.4 code to our 4.0.3 ROM. We will be porting all of our custom stuff into 4.0.4 so no old code is left in and we will have a fresh base...
Waiting patiently for the best rom out there I.e. CNA

CyanogenMod - incredible work
teamhacksung - thanks for creating the CM9 N7000 sources
First time installing Ganbarou GT-N7000 to your Galaxy Note, or coming from another ROM:
READ FAQs:*http://teamhacksung.org/wiki/index.p...sked_Questions
Make sure you're running a proper working ClockworkMod-Recovery
DON'T flash FROM ANY SAMSUNG ICS!
If you want to have a safe kernel, you might want to flash this kernel with Odin :*http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...4&d=1337346991
Copy Ganbarou ZIP to your internal SDCard
Boot into Recovery
Flash Ganbarou zip
DO A DATA WIPE / FACTORY RESET (otherwise your calendar sync will not work)
Reboot
Don't restore Apps using Titanium Backup!
Upgrading from earlier Teamhacksung build or Cyanogenmod nightlies or Ganbarou nightlies (NOT Imilka's or any other build):
Copy Ganbarou ZIP to your internal SDCard
Boot into Recovery
Flash Ganbarou zip
Wipe cache partition and dalvik-cache
Reboot
Old stuff

Changes in version 0.5:

Updated to latest CM9/Google Sources
Changes in version 0.4:
Removed CyanogenMod stuff:
CyanogenMod wallpapers

CyanogenMod Statistics
Profiles
ROMManager
Google Apps included in the ROM. No more need to flash Google Apps separate. Included GMail and YouTube (in data folder, so they can easily be updated).
Wipe of cache and dalvik-cache recommended, otherwise you might see a FC of Settings after reboot. No big issue, it will happen only once.

TSM Touch Recovery 6.0.1.3 for Nexus S with AROMA Installer

[ Here is what Koush said: ]
ClockworkMod Recovery 6 for Nexus S
... has been released on ROM Manager.
Changes:
New backup format that deduplicates data between backups.
Faster backups.
Fixed restores > 2GB.
Minor UI tweaks (new background, animated Android)
Future:
In the past, I have merged/rebased every CWM with AOSP. With Jellybean, I have decided this is no longer in the best interest of the project. There are only a few areas of AOSP recovery that are of interest (roots.c - file system, minui, and updater). Those will continue to be merged into CWM. Other than that, doing a full rebase with every code drop has been a giant headache, with the code churn from upstream that providing little to no value to CWM.
In any case, this unties my hands to deviate completely from AOSP, with the primary goal to make a much more polished touch UI.
ROM Manager
ROM Manager is a little over 2 years old, and though it has grown in features quite a bit since its first incarnation, parts are starting to show its age. I've been contemplating a significant UI rewrite for some time now, and will pull the trigger on that shortly. I also want to add in some features that I am hoping will be of some interest:
* A paid ROM section for devs to publish their work and support their hobby.
* Upload your current ROM to ROM Manager for anyone to use, from the device.
* Connect ROM Manager to the Recovery Builder for automatic updates of recovery. No device left behind
Speaking of the Recovery Builder; it has been pleasantly successful. To date, around 1700 recoveries have been built. Many for devices ROM Manager currently does not even support.
Anyways, if you have any suggestions for the future of ClockworkMod products, please drop me a line!.

Q&A Thread
This thread is a place where you can talk about everything of this ROM: Q&A, bugs, problems, fixes... I created this thread late, but is never too late from this moment please make development thread cleaner.
Development thread: [ROM] ParanoidAndroid 3.99 RC2
Common Questions
Q: I'm on Gingerbread, how can I install this ROM?
A: First update to official Jelly Bean, then install as every custom ROM.
Q: How can I update this ROM?
A: Just download updated build and flash it. No need to wipe anything.
Q: I have GT-I9070P. Three questions for you:
Why my Mobile Network (called "RIL") is not working?
How can I make "I9070P" visible into device infos?
If I make a nandroid backup of stock ROM before install this, later when I try to restore it I get an error. Why and how I can solve this?
A: Simple
I9070 and I9070P are almost identical, except for NFC and RIL. You have to change tee folder under /system/lib of flashable zip to make RIL working.
I made a flashable zip containing tee folder for I9070P and a modded build.prop that shows I9070P instead of I9070. Just flash it.
Almost all custom ROMS are for I9070, when you make nandroid backup of stock ROM, recovery mode recognizes that the backup is of an I9070P. When you install these CM-based ROMS, your device is recognized as I9070. Just flash my flashable zip to make restore working.
You can find flashable zip here. Remember that if you install latest build or update to it, flash latest device-specific zip too!
Q: I'm here again with my GT-I9070P. I want to restore my stock ROM but I'm on CM10.1/10.2/11 ROM. Can I use your flashable zip to enable restore from these ROMS too?
A: Yes, you can. Just flash it, reboot recovery and restore your backup.
Q: On GT-I9070P, if I make a backup of your ROM to try another ROM, how can I restore if my device is recognized as I9070?
A: Just read the answer on top of this question.
Q: I have GT-I9070P. Why NFC doesn't work on CM-based ROMS?
A: NFC doesn't work because there are built on GT-I9070 source code that doesn't have NFC.
Q: If I change some libraries, can I make NFC working on GT-I9070P with these ROMS?
A: Impossible. NFC driver is a part of kernel.
Q: How can I add new tiles into Quick Settings panel?
A: Go to Settings>Toolbars>Quick Settings panel>Tiles and layouts>Add to add new tiles.
Q: Why there is no Torch app included into this ROM?
A: Torch app is not a part of ParanoidAndroid ROM. If I add it into builds is not Open Source because I'm using a prebuilt component from another ROM.
Q: I downloaded a Torch app from Play Store, but Torch tile into Quick Settings panel is not working. Why?
A: Tile is not working because is linked to CyanogenMod's Torch app. You can make it working using this flashable zip that installs CM Torch.
Q: I use BlackBerry Messaging app, why when I receive a notification its sound isn't played or device reboots?
A: BBM app doesn't fully work with CM-based ROMS.

If you install 20130113 build install 20130113 device-specific, the same for 20130117. If you update the ROM, for example from 20130113 to 20130117 install device-specific zip of the same day too

Only if you want to make restore of another ROM working on recovery, but you can't change another ROM's build.prop and boot it. If you want flashable tee only just download it from my Dev-Host account. It's available under "Misc" category.

Why so a huge battery drain.
Battery was at 100percent i unplugged cable and let it alone after two haurs it was at 80percent.
I did nothing with the phone in these two hours.
Just 5 apps installed. Anf removed some other apps.
But its very smooth. Thanks anyway.

OK. Trying to understand how this ROM is...
-Old bootloader.
-No Kowalski Kernel.
-No Wi-Fi Tethering.
One doubt, the Gapps available for download, are they non neon Gapps?
Good luck for your project.

It's basically Temasek build 93 with some pirated apps included.
Flash first, then comment. Or don't flash at all. To quote the OP: not worth the time.

At the end of my post, I mentioned a question.
If you have an answer for it, than I appreciate.
If you don't, let the OP do it if he can.
I need the phone working right now with Google apps.
BTW it's not up to me nor you to say if it's worth the time.
Specially if maybe you didn't flash it.
Remember flash then comment!
Peace...

I converted the ROM to NewBL and installed it. Didn't boot. Then I reinstalled (always full wipe) and also flashed Pengus M1 (with and without ramhack). Upon booting, there was an FC message from Lucky Patcher. Off to a good start, eh? At this point, I decided not to flash GApps. If you need a working phone right now, I highly recommend the work of carburano (Adios Amigos is a truly fine ROM); Pengus ('Look Ma!') or anything by tonyp.
I'll leave it at that. If you want more information, I suggest you make the effort to convert and flash, errr…'Smasher' (tip: remove spaces from filename before converting) and find out for yourself. Or you could wait for the OP's next update which I'm sure will be just perfect.
Far be it from me to report this thread to a mod, although I do wonder what this unoriginal work is doing here in the Development forum.
