-CM sync (new kernel)
-just to keep you guys sane ;)
8/12

* adding gapps in automagically from now on!
* new option to set the clock to the center
* MIUI battery code enhancements
* Tweaks minor bug fixes
* Honeycomb lockscreen! Access from CyanogenMod settings > Lockscreen > Style Options > Lockscreen Style (did this to be consistent with other CM lockscreen settings)
*** taking suggestions on how to improve this. I may add custom app launchers to each quadrant, but still listening to what you guys have to say. Do you even like it? Etc.
build 17 - 7/29
* MIUI battery bar (selectable from Extra Tweaks -> Battery Options) - thanks sbrissen!
* more LED notification stability code
build 16 - 7/27

** while I recoded it, I included the CM7-style color picker some of you were asking for for my tweaks (custom hex codes)
** You won't see much change, but just know it took forever :)
future plans: Trigger theme, custom wallpapers, more customizations. In time.
build 14 - 7/20
-newest changes from cm repo as always
-added an LED toggle (your kernel has to have this feature, so it may not work for you)
-added bloater, preinstalled, open it and you can install a gps config that will make your gps msbased, and more settings (better/faster locks)
-fixed small display bug with dbm display signal (extra space, for Callip!)
-gpsd from build 12
build 13 - 7/14
-double mute/unmute fix! that outa do it.
-fixed issue where your settings in tweaks wouldn't save upon reboot
-newest changes from CM repos of course
-added gps disabler into tweaks (for those who want it)
build 12 - 7/9
-newest cm7 commits
--- which happens to include my GPS fix for JVP
--- and it works, 100% so far for me ;)
build 11 - 7/7
-fixed battery text not decreasing properly
-fixed Phone mute/unmute bug
-different bootanimation
build 10 - 7/7
-fixed power off bug (it actual powers off now!)
-fixed all funky reboot behaviors
-re-added custom battery mod settings in tweaks
--can toggle on/off every element & customize it, just play with it
-as always, synced to newest cm changes
note: anything you see greyed out in the CM Settings that you think shouldn't be, it likely means I've replaced those functions and the settings are in the Extra Tweaks setting. I did this in order to avoid any conflicts with the CM code :). It wil never be less functionality either, only more.
build 9 - 7/6
-based off CM7 now for more features and awesomeness!
-no theming or aesthetical change (maybe some custom wallpapers later, but I'm not a themer)
-newest CM changes
---creenshot from power menu
-custom hard reboot option added to reboot menu that will fix data
-battery customizations currently disabled to avoid conflict with CM battery mods
-that's it for now!
build 8 - 7/3
-fixed media scanner (music wasn't showing up properly)
-fixed small battery display bug where it would reappear after hiding
-added widget grouping when selecting them on your homescreen
build 6 - 7/2
Tweaks:
--added ability to hide signal bars
--battery icon hides instantly now
--signal icon changes instantly between H/4G
--added ability to show signal strength in dbm in statusbar
--added ability to automatically color dbm based on what the statusbar would be (0, 1, 2, 3, 4)
--can set color to static
--i think that's it for the tweaks
System changes:
--faux's latest framework fixes (check github histories)
--enabled high bitrate full hd recording (1080p)
--updated kernel to 0.2.8 (faux, ilu)
--i'm sure i missed a couple of other minor things here
build 5 - 7/1
-hid tweaks in app drawer
-added ability to toggle between H icon and 4G icon in tweaks settings
---BUG! it will do a soft reboot on you when you switch it. it's also likely that you may have to do a hard reboot after that to get data back. this will be fixed in the next release :)
-upgraded faux's kernel to 0.2.7 & other fixes (check github histories for extended info if you like)
-decreased padding on statusbar elements so it looks less wonky
-I think that's it, spent a couple hours working on getting github worked out properly last night!
build 4 - 6/30
-initial public release
You should know
If you have Gingerbread bootloaders, you will not be able to access your external SD card & possibly some other bugs
GPS is half ass working. It is just like the JVP GPS fix. It works sometimes, other times it does not. I will include a NON working GPS kernel by default in order to avoid any potential battery leakage. Flash GPS enabled kernel at your own will.
Having battery drain issues? GPS is a likely culprit. Use my "Disable GPS" in Extra Tweaks function!
FAQ
Q: Can I flash an upgrade without wiping data?
A: Sometimes it's okay to do so, but other times it will conflict with the new updates. Best bet is to do a CWM backup, and a Titanium backup before you try anything if you don't know what you're doing. If you run into any issues or funny behavior, just do a data wipe.
Q: Sometimes my GAPPS are missing, why?
A: Everytime you flash the ROM or an upgrade to it, you MUST flash the Gapps package. It takes an extra 3 seconds, don't complain! I try and keep all upgrades on ROM Manager, you can have it install the Gapps for you right after it installs the ROM.
Q: Ok, but how do I avoid having to sign into Google?
A: When you flash an upgrade, be sure to flash the gapps while you're still in recovery before rebooting. That way you will still be signed in. So, flash the ROM, then flash gapps without rebooting.
Download - thank you goo-inside.me for awesome hosting!
Trigger - 8/22 -- includes gapps
Google Apps - 7/29
Flash both, or use ROM manager to install!
Awesome, looks nice!

I have been sharing my CM7/CM9/CM10/CM10.1 builds for galaxy s for some time in several thread, which culminated in the MackayROM. I continue now with JB4.2 for optimus black, based on this ROM for galaxy s. MackayROM is based on CyanogenMod sources, with several performance enhancements.
About Cyanogen: CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 4.2 (JellyBean), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
Disclaimer: I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
If you run into errors, I may not be able to solve it!
If you know a solution to a problem, either upload it yourself to Gerrit Code Review or contact me through pm.
The ROM is based on CM10.1 with the following changes:
-Mackay Kernel
-Set of cherries picked from gerrit (differing by the day)
-Some handmade patches I did myself to the source code
Feature request are OK, but remember:
1. I try to stay close to stock
2. I will not include additional apps, unless they can be build from source
3. The time I spend on features depends on how much I like them myself
Changelog of 2.999 FINAL compared to previous release (2.91)
-Upstream code improvements - updated to CM10.1.3 stable release
Full changelog of 2.999 FINAL compared to stock CM10.1:

-Custom kernels can be used only if specific for JB4.2
Known issues
Same problems as stock CM10.1, except for removal of the chipmunk voice & improved GPS performance. Main issues:
-Gallery / movie recording often leads to FC or hot reboots
-Battery drain is high, especially when using 3G
Credits:
-Ricardo Cerqueira for making CM work on our ancient phone
-stratosk/DerTeufel/Mialwe for the inspiration I got from their kernels
-rootax &xdafileserver for providing a high-speed server for high quality downloads
-Malcho for his bootanimation & kernel splash

Separate kernel 3.2: can be flashed on top of CM10.1 or any CM10.1-based ROM (same download link as above)
Gapps need to be flashed on top of the ROM if you want to use Google Play and other Google apps.
FAQ
Q. Process x (e.g. mediaserver/phone) is eating 50+% of my battery, what should I do?
A. Go to settings>apps>all and find the app which is causing the battery drain. Then delete app data and reboot phone. If it does not help, you can combine this step with clearing dalvik cache.
Q. I have problems with Play Store FC
A. Please install a recent gapps package (see e.g. http://goo.im/gapps)
Q: My camera is failing me!
A: Try this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=41853069&postcount=950

Actually, my wife does
That also tells something about the level of bugs. She is not an Android junkie and needs the phone for work. My cm10/JB4.1 ROMs led sometimes to complaints (crash) so I never shared those build. She is very happy with the JB4.2 build.
Only two things that are still an frequent issue: SD card getting unmounted and 3G battery drain. I am still hoping I can collect a logcat of the first. And 3G drain is 'solved' by using 2G when idle and only switch to 3G when needed.

I am especially interested in feedback on the updated vendor blobs (camera, gps, LED). If these work better than stock CM10.1, I can send a pull request to see whether they allow the v30c blobs into mainstream CM
Some of the additional features I added to this ROM will not be accepted by mainstream CM. Their policy nowadays is took keep the number of user settings to a minimum to have a clean experience. Although I like this (AOKP is too much settings for me), I do like some additional goodies on top of CM.
Another thing that may be useful upstream is the ROW scheduler. I have seen improvements on all phones I used this on, so I also added it to this p970 build.

downloading....want to try a new rom
This is completely compatible with the official CyanogenMod 10.1 (and I'm planning to keep it that way), so you can switch to and from official without any problems.
The main focus of this ROM is to stay up to date with CyanogenMod 10.1 git branch and add features that allow finer grain customisation of hardware specific to the 4X.
What's added:
LG QuickMemo (hold Vol+ and Vol- to activate) [framework change]
Enable wake by pressing volume key setting [settings app change]
Control button backlight in System Settings (can stop it turning on whenever you touch the screen) [settings app + framework + hardware library change]
Button backlight used as notification light (can be enabled/disabled in System Settings) [settings app + hardware library change]
Button backlight used as battery light (recommend disabling in System Settings) [settings app + hardware library change]
Ability to dim backlight more than minimum (activate from ArararagiToolbox, otherwise like stock) [kernel change]
Ability to force fast charge even higher than default AC levels (activate from ArararagiToolbox, otherwise like stock) [kernel change]
20130502: Fix headset button (thanks to Wenque) Now in official CM
20130505: Disable baseband_xmm_power wake lock [kernel change]
20130512: Torch brightness control. You need to clear data for the Torch app. Default is the minimum possible brightness, rather than the stock CM 10.1 brightness. [Torch app + kernel change]
20130515: Fix known issues in torch brightness control caused by 20130512 changes. Clear Torch app data. [Torch app change] Disable touch debug printing in kernel. [kernel change]
20130602: Use new vibrator implementation in line with CM. Add baseband_xmm_power wake lock back in.
20130609: Uncap screen brightness

Check github for full changelog. Each release also includes changes from official CM.
Optional (can be installed as normal app):
Memobin.apk: LG Notes
AraragiToolbox.apk: Actually activating some of the features mentioned above
CameraApp3.apk: 20130606. LG Jelly Bean stock camera app ported to Android 4.2/CM 10.1.
ArararagiToolbox features that work on any ROM:
Check battery current (drain/charge in mA)
Disable USB (for charging on untrusted computers)
Check KSM (kernel same page merging) stats
Note: Anything changed from AraragiToolbox won't stay across reboots, as it's more of a tool for testing. I'm planning to add them into the System Settings later on.
Install by flashing zip from ClockworkMod (Find "Optimus 4X" on the page). No need to wipe data if you are already using CM 10.1.

How to HALO:
See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2117444&page=976 (Thanks to kubics for original posting and Namor Noditz for linking) on how to configure.
Just mentally replace "Settings > RootBox Settings > HALO Settings" with "Settings > System".

My immediate guess would be the same as with any modified CM - you lose the additions to the ROM.

I think it would change just the moddified files, I guess. I will try an report.
can create a zip file to add QuickMemo, Fast Charge, Backlight Dim, Notification Light, etc. to official CM 10.1?

It doesn't work. I have installed today's update then this modded ROM and then today's update again.
How often is you going to be updated this ROM?

Does that mean it did what I suggested and wiped out the additions? That's certainly what used to happen with older versions of CM and I would expect exactly the same to happen still.
It's the same as with the PDroid version - unless the OP sets up his own automated build system you can often find the build lagging behind the nightlies. That's why they often choose to base a modded version on the most recent 'stable' CM and then have to update it less frequently.
I think I found a bug. When I am charging my phone over USB or AC the button's lights are always on.

That's not a bug. You've got the screen set to "Always On" when charging, and the buttons set to "Always On" - therefore the buttons will always be on when charging?
Awesome!!!!This is what i need.Great job!
If qmemo can also turn on by long press menu/quick setting panel, that will be perfect.

The button lights function as battery lights by default. Disable it in settings -> system -> battery lights.
It's difficult to release just modified files (as you can see from my kernel and other QuickMemo thread, it becomes a mess) and now that framework modifications are involved, it can cause conflicts if they are flashed over a CyanogenMod version that it wasn't designed for.
It might be possible to get the button backlight feature upstreamed in CM, but I doubt they'd accept any of the rest.
I'll look into setting up automated build, and also getting the source modifications organised on github or similar.
20130428 is now available.

Vanir is now in Beta for the TF701. We could use some feedback on how it is doing. Currently, we forked CM's device tree + kernel. (this will change based upon feedback)
Currently all TF700 builds can be found in the nightly section for both Vanir and Commotio

Many Thanks. Awesome! Its working! But there was a really cool viking dude on the nexus 7. the Viking Dude!? How about that? :silly:
-back button sends me to google now. Dont know if thats a feature or what.
I'm probably a less technical user than many. But here's my $.02.
The navigation bar customizations are huge. Once you get used to having a "last app" button there's no going back.
I got non-stop Google Keyboard errors which I worked around by using voice to install Swiftkey. I don't use Google Keyboard anyway because there's no split layout.
The back button goes to Google Now because of the navigation ring. I disabled that too.
I haven't grasped the mystery of how themes behave. There are often subtle differences from one ROM or device to the next. In this case with SUBZ3ER0 I can see the text on my Gmail widget and in Google Voice where often it's black-on-black. I have no idea if that's because of some deliberate change, but if so that's great. (And if it's not, it's still great.)
I recently switched from an Xperia tablet Z and was missing a lot of the customizations. (On the bright side I've been wasting less time constantly flashing different ROMs.) This is very nice.

Thanks for the feedback, I will try to address theme over the next week. I think we need some overlays for this tab DPI
In the meantime, you can adjust the navi bar size in Settings/Interface
For me, adb over wireless crashes settings. Using rom toolbox pro instead. So far so good otherwise.

Sorry, poor word choice. I meant that the navigation bar customizations are "huge" in the sense that they are very significant, very helpful. There isn't anything abnormal about their size. It took a while for that to click before I realized my miscommunication.

Brickmaking
Dumb question - does the term "brickmaking" on the download site mean that it's just very experimental and risky or that brickmaking is the expected outcome?

It means it's experimental with a higher risk than usual. 4.4.3 builds look stable
Hey I'm looking to flash the latest nightly. Can someone confirm dock/keyboard is working?

It's been great for several days. I was getting random crashes on various apps on 4.4.2, sometimes a bunch at once, but it hasn't happened in the past few days. I need to stop being lazy and read about how to save log files and what to do with them. There are other variables. I was using ART and using a lower resolution. Either way it would take a whole lot of crashes to negate the huge benefit of the last app nav bar button. It's the greatest thing since sliced bread. Better than that. I'd rather tear my bread apart and eat it in chunks than lose my last app button.

Does this ROM support ART runtime? Also, still no support to exFat file system, right?
It could my imagination but after the last nightly this seemed exceptionally responsive and fast.

Absolutely love the boot animation. It's the best I've seen yet.
Decided to try this ROM, after using baked & omni. I like it, and it's full of features.
It's a little laggier than both baked & omni, but it's still a solid ROM. I think I'll test drive for the weekend.
Badass ROM
Only one I have found to be bug free ie: car BT, WiFi, no systemui issues. Awesome options if you so choose..
Thanks!
I've only found one big issue with this ROM: MMS wouldn't send on the default message app. The app would crash. I'm wondering if it's a problem with the ROM or if it's something I did.
Either way, I figured I'd wait until the next release and do a clean install.

Mine works. And for some reason ten times better then cm or paranoid... I would try a wipe and reflash.
This rom works really well but I'm still having some bug issues. Like the draw back when going back to home. It stays blank. Even when trying to open the drawer. I have to admit I haven't flashed back to stock or rsd my phone for a long time. And I'm still on the jbl version 1.3.7, I also get my hangouts a bit late. Like I have to open the application at times to receive them. I also cannot figure on how to have the message read on top instead of just an icon that tells you you have a text. I'll try to flash when cleaner and get back. Thanks

Hi there, none of those issues for me........... did you do a perfectly clean install?
Are you saying your version is flaw less with no hiccups or force closes of some sort? When you say full clean you mean dalvik, system, cache, and data. ? Cause I didn't do internal wipe nor flash back rsd and reroot

No, I'm not saying anything, just offering a possible solution. I was on a ROM, JBBL. Updated the ROM. Then decided to update the BL and go to the KK version. I did not do a complete wipe- I mean everything - and I had a few quirky issues. I then started over - wiped down to bare metal, rebuild the phone, KKBL, then the KKROM. And when I came to AOSB, I wiped to bare metal again, and then installed ROM. It has been just about flawless. I did have a reboot the other day, but hey, its a ROM, right? I've had stock phones reboot too.
Does the Bluetooth work on kk rom? I'm think of doing that as it's been a awhile since i haven't and have flashed a lot in between.

Everything works for me. Once I set BT up, I just turn it on when getting into my car and it connects instantly. I've been on KK on this particular ROM since the start. AND I've been on this one exclusively for a bit now.
I can't get my RAZR to boot into recovery, first time I have had issues with this one. Can I flash from fastboot instead? I am testing this on a spare RAZR then will put it on my RAZR MAXX later.
