[ROM][AOSP][Xposed] Simply-Smart V2 (Updated 30/01/2014) - Nexus 4 Android Development

Hello Friends, I've been using Purity ROM for quite sometime now and I must admit I am a huge fan of something like this which is based on stock. On the other hand I am a big fan of Xposed framework and like the idea of customization without touching the system files. I use many modules to customize the rom. The reason of making this ROM is to remove the conflict betweeen cherry picked features with xposed modules so that the user can decide which settings they want to keep and which they dont. All the modules created for AOSP roms should work flawlessly without any conflicts. I am using this rom for sometime now and thought to share here for people like me. I will try to provide weekly build if you guyz like this idea.
Features:
Built from source
AOSP KitKat 4.4.2 KOT49H
Bioning and Dalvik tweaked
CM Calculator App
DSP Manager
CM MMS.apk
Added MiFi explorer
Rom Banner
Franco Kernel
Nexus 4 particle bootanimation
Ubuntu Font set by default
Integrated the follwing in the Settings app:
TricksterMod (As Kernel Settings)
[*]App Ops
[*]SuperSu
[*]Xtheme Engine
[*]Light Manager (To manage led notification, under display settings)
[*]Font Installer (under display settings)
[*]Gravity Box (As Interface, this giant module alone converts a stock AOSP rom to a full featured custom rom, remember to customize it well according to your needs)
Installation Process:
Wipe /system, /data, /cache and dalvik-cache
Download and flash Simply-Smart_v2 in recovery.
Download and install Gapps of your choice (Obviously 4.4.2 compatible)
On first boot (please be paitient while it does), go to the app drawer – xposed installer – framework – Install/update. Grant superuser permission and hit back. Go to modules and activate all the included modules.
Reboot
Customize the rom according to your choice
Enjoy
Extra:
For Pure AOSP lovers, I have also uploaded a pure version without any modification, specially for those who want to mod the rom as per their choice and want to have latest google updates. If interested, you can download that from the link below:

I must admire it, looking good...
But i really want to use ART, so i can't use GravityBox... And we all know much of users prefer ART. Is there a way to merge the two worlds?

Too awesome !!

Very Quick Brajesh .Will try it..looks awesome...

Sure.. Thanks.. on AOSP my personal preference is for Matr1x kernels.. but AK, is worth mentioning too! It's my number 1 choice on Kernels too, but lately I've been facing WiFi connectivity issues with that kernel for some reason.. (but that was on CM Roms..) let's see .. thanks again.

Uploaded a new version with some minor improvements.

Just a tip: you need to throw in some more stuff in order to grab users' attention. And this isn't an easy thing to do in a nexus device as there are many ROMs with great quality and many features (which is the thing that attracts most users, unfortunately).

Exactly this...but there is another thing too...It hasn't got to be full of features in order to be a good ROM, but it has to be fast and smooth. Right now there are many fast roms but they are not smooth enough, or they are smooth and not fast...
In this days maybe will made a new version
Stay tuned

ok i used the rom for about a week now and this is what i see so far:
it's fast and smooth and you can play games on it (if that's your thing) with little to no lag.
no hanging on the home screen (i really like stock home better but nova is the next best thing)
to clean some notification settings, quad menu would do fine and still keep it nice and cleen
some times when someone calls the screen stays off and locked (you have to pres the power button and unlock to see the call screen or chose it from notifications witch annoy's the s**t out of me)
other from that every thing works fine and has good battery life to
i get 16 to 18h with wi-fi and 3g always on 30-50 min of phone calls, some gaming and non-stop messiging
cant wait for next release
P.S. sorry for my bad grammar
New version released!
Link at 1st post
Pls try the rom and report any bugs (i hope and think that there aren't bugs )
Ei sossio scusa, é normale che mi manchi il client mail?
Grazie.

Q- will this work on my N80XX?
A-I am not sure on which devices this will work for as I only have the 8013 and pretty much only build and test for what I own. Well actually since v2.0 I now support N8000 and N8010 as well as N8013, all in one zip.
Q- Can you add ________________ feature please?
A-Pleas pm me feature requests and I can decide if it will benefit the Rom as a whole and more users. I dont really want to add a feature that only 2-3 people will use.
Q-What kernel is included?
A-As of right now only stock, hopefully this will change soon.
Q-What recovery is the best to use?
A-Im not really sure there is a best, the touch screen ones seem kinda wonky right now. I personally use this one and works flawlessly.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=30816047
Q-Are there any other fonts that we can install for more options?
A-Yes and of the fonts form HERE work just fine and set the same as stock ones.

Yes was thinking about adding that in but just didn't get it in this go around. Have used awesome beats quite a bit in the past but dropped it when went to jelly bean on some devices cause it just didn't seem to work the same.
Finally been waiting for developments for this device. Still at work so can't flash. Is there an option to remove a lot of the bloat like music hub and chaton and all that junk? Thanks for your work.

Looks and Sounds Interesting. Couple of things. Light color font in OP is eye killer, please change if its ok. You have mentioned Gapps by SlimRom built-in (including Google Now and Face Unlock) you have also given link for gaps? So need to flash gapps or not
Screenshot looks interesting.

[rom][aosp]linaro][gnome]jss15r/jls36c/jwr66y[09/21/13]

Hi,
Are you tired of your current ROM that has limited features? Well here's the ROM for you. Have a minute to read and hopefully you'll be encouraged to test it.
This is The GN0M3 Project. This ROM has no customizations whatsoever. You will be the one to customize this, It's a fast clean stock ROM with under the hood speed enhancements and some personal tweaks(all under the hood). This is just like an AOSP ROM that you would need to install GApps. With this ROM, you will have a Fast, Clean, freeze free Stock experience.
Why did I say "You'll be the one to customize it?"
Well, It's because I already integrated the Xposed framework into the ROM settings. And If you're going to ask me "Why no customizations and why with the Xposed framework only?" It's because some of the famous features of some Custom ROMs are already in one of the Xposed Modules, you just need to find them.
Anyways, this ROM will stay stock and only speed enhancements will be implemented and also I will just focus on stability and such. The customizations you would want will be in one of the Xposed Modules. I'll just give you a stock, clean, snappy ROM and it's up to you to customize it.
In a nut shell: "This is the do it yourself customization ROM"

A brief explanation about this ROM
apatal said:
What you'll get here is a mostly stock AOSP ROM with bits and pieces of stock factory image to battle the dreaded deadlocks that have been haunting aosp builds of late. It has all the necessary bionic, dalvik and skia patches for speed and butter as well, so don't worry about performance. What's special about this though is the integration of the xposed framework mod into the system settings. What this means is if and when you get tired of the stock look and feel, you can easily install the framework, and after that any module or tweakbox (collection of modules) you want to gain customizations you want (if they're available). This type of project is unprecedented in its uniqueness since it gives the users the freedom to enjoy a pure stock ROM, or a modded one, depending on their preference. For more information, check the OP.
Give it a try and feel the butter! Let us know if you need help regarding the xposed framework.

For people using this ROM, check the OP for the Modified SuperSU for this ROM, it will be hidden from the app drawer and integrated in settings.
This looks great
So with xposed framework it´s possible for me to make more than 3 navbuttons ?

That I'm not sure if there's already a module for that. But you can try to look for one since there's a lot out there. I personally use Greenify and GravityBox.

I guess @Silently just wants to know (so I do) which characteristics of this ROM might encourage us to switch to it. Is there any features list?
I'd like to know too. Maybe the dev will update his original post or fill out a reserved post with more information.
Based on a youtube video of the 5.1.1 version -- the only list my quick search turned up -- it has quicksettings enhancements, extra sound control such as volume steps, app bar, heads up, and gestures. I cannot confirm these as I haven't tried this ROM.
I might just give this ROM a whirl.
@johan111 @Silently @danny8
Well, we can consider this rom like an all in one rom. Now dont have too much features just because is one of the first builds yet.
First honestly is one of the smoothest rom i have tried for xperia sp and now that im trying it on peregrine is more or less the same (i have spent only one day at this moment. Im testing it yet) . And about features, the usuals as gesture anywhere, app circle bar, app bar, wakelock blocker, animations. Also three fingers gesture to make screenshots, toast icon setting, recentssettings such as slim recents, memory bar, app sidebar combinated with slim recents, lock screen settings like weather, shortcuts, dt2s to turn off..... And nova launcher by default.

I struggled to open the play store, forced closure, as happens with systemUi and settings. Everything else works perfect.
I gave this ROM a try and here are my quick & dirty reactions. I say "quick and dirty" because I did not install this ROM properly. I ended up doing a factory reset (via TWRP) to make my phone bootable. You should follow instructions in the OP if you're planning to install this ROM.
I dirty-flashed over my CM13 setup ( 4G / peregrine Moto G) and experienced a boot-loop after the dalvik cache finished rebuilding. Doing a factory reset in TWRP made the phone bootable, but I had no Google apps after booting successfully. THIS PARAGRAPH IS MERELY EXPLANATORY; DO NOT RECOMMEND YOU TO REPEAT THIS PROCEDURE.
This ROM has a nice collection of added features: volume enhancements, extra UIs such Pie & Slim recents ,stock Nova launcher, and a much-expanded settings app. The settings apps enhancements are nicely done and well-organized. This ROM appears to be a blend of AOSP and CM13 components (not a skilled dev here; please feel free to set the record straight.)
I was hoping to see more in the way of quick-settings options, but so much there is new to Marshmallow I can't nitpick.
I experienced a few FCs but nothing that froze or rebooted my phone. I did not get a chance to try the Play Store. The stock browser would FC and I couldn't get on the wifi internet as I'm in a cafe that uses a portal page. The captive portal app FCed as well. All the above might be related to not have gapps installed. Thought about flashing gapps but decided to roll back to CM13.
Not exactly a fair review, but from what I've seen this ROM deserves consideration. Especially if you like extra UIs like Pie and Gestures.
I will check that FCS and also of there's some problems with gapps. But flashing it at the same time as the ROM should work perfectly.
Btw, some FCS could be because the new permission manager of marshmallow. You can try to add more permissions to each app in settings/apps
