Hi everybody,
First, I want to thank all the people who contribute to this forum. Your time spent here and your expertise are very appreciated.
Second, I have lately a problem which I hope I could solve here. I have an Xperia Z1 C6906, running android 4.3, build number 14.2.A.0.290. For some time, I noticed that certain apps (i.e Songza and TuneIn Radio) don`t have any sound, neither on phone speaker, nor on bluetooth one.The music seems to play but no sound out. Other apps, including Walkman, ore some radio broadcasting app are fully functional. Is there anything that I can do?
Thanks in advance for any thought or suggestion

Hi everyone!
I'm new to my Galaxy S and to this forum as well, I really hope you can help me. Galaxy S is my first smartphone, and I'm truly amazed, it's almost like a PC-Replacement device.
I have a tiny bit of a problem though:
I listen a lot of FM-Radio while I'm on the go, and sometimes I would like to know (and save) a song's artist and title. Therefore I looked around, and found Shazam (and SoundHound) on the Market for music recognition. Unfortunately, they both fail to work together with the FM-Radio. As soon as I start tagging/recognizing the music playing on the radio, it mutes, and the programs only record the noises around me
I tried it on my friend's LG Optimus (1.6, Vodafone, default), we had no troubles at all, Shazam nicely recognized all the songs from the radio.
I think the source of the problem is, that the Galaxy S' radio is very basic, and has no recording function, but I'm not sure about that, please reinforce or deny me. If there is any way to make it work, I'm all ears
Thanks in advance!
I have the same problem with Samsung Galaxy 5. With 2.1 it worked fine, but after updateing to 2.2 it mutes while tagging, like you described. Also I noticed on 2.1, when radio was playing and when I started a music player, then the radio would stop playing, which was great, on 2.2 the radio won't stop and I have two different sources playing, annoying. It's definitely a software problem and unfortunatly thera are no other FM-Radio apps to try it out.
On HTC Wildfire 2.1 it also doesn't work.
Hi all, I have tried searching around and haven't managed to to find anything even remotely similar (if such a thread exists, I apologise and I would appreciate being pointed in the right direction), So i'm posting as a last resort, I really hope somebody is able to help me.
I am experiencing a lot of random "snicking" and clicking over btaudio A2DP between my xperia Z and my 2010 camry hybrid. The snicking is not present in bt calls, just bt audio playback. I have not experienced this problem with any of my older phones in the same car (iphone 4, 4s, sgs, sgs2, sgs3 have all been without issue).
The snicking is most noticeable in quiet or silent parts of a song, although lately from time to time it will progress from quiet snicking into full terrible distortion on every beat requiring me to pull over, unpair the phone, powercycle both the car and the phone and re-pair everything to get it back to something that is listenable.
I am using poweramp, but have tried several different music players to rule out the possibility of it being the player.
Has anybody encountered this, or able to help me troubleshoot it?
I am using a completely stock xperia Z, no mods whatsoever.
Thank you in advance for your time and assistance.

Thank you for your reply, I have tried with poweramp, and the standard walkman app, both have the same problem. I tried my wifes xz on the car and it was much much worse (dropping out, freezing etc) So I can only assume sony (or telstra) have screwed up the a2dp as it works completely fine in calls.
I might try dropping something non branded on it and see how it all goes.
Thank you for your time.
Hi everyone, thanks for taking the time to look at this.
I'm having an issue where if I run any CM based rom I get "com.bluetooth.android has stopped responding" when connecting to my Mazda car stereo or my jawbone speakers. I've had this issue on every version of CM that has been out since November. If I use a stock based rom, everything works fine and I don't have any issues. It doesn't matter if I'm using 4.4.2 or 4.4.4, the previous scenario still holds true.
Any ideas what I can try in order to solve the issue or at least narrow it down further?
I really like flashing different roms and checking out the awesome features everyone has added, but I unfortunately need my bluetooth to work properly.
Thanks in advance for all the help!

Ha. I have the exact opposite problem. I have a 2013 Subaru Outback and every AOSP rom works perfectly and any stock rom has issues. Calls work fine on both stock and AOSP based roms, but media playback has always presented a problem for me on stock roms. On AOSP roms I can play Netflix, Youtube, music, etc through my car speakers but I can only get Play Music to work on stock roms. Sometimes on a stock rom, Youtube will play for 2 seconds but then cutoff the audio. The video will continue to play, but the audio is lost. Very strange.
I've searched around a bunch, and it looks like i's not an uncommon issue, but it doesn't look like there's a systematic solution. I assume there are too many variables (car makes, models, years, stereo upgrades, Nav options, etc) to be able to isolate an issue. You just have to keep trying different iterations.
Keep me posted if you find a solution.
I am trying to stream music through Bluetooth in my BMW iDrive and I cannot get it to work with apps like Spotify, TuneIn. My phone is a Sprint HTC One M7 (4.1.2) and it streams fine the mp3 stored on the phone (played through the HTC Music app), so I know it is possible and it should work, but not with those internet streaming apps. Previously, I was using it in my VW and it has always worked great.
I tried many time the usual unpair/pair thing, I updated the BMW software to the latest, and still nothing.
Before upgrading my phone, I wanted to check if someone has any idea on this?
Possible to upgrade the Bluetooth stack only maybe?
Nobody experienced this?
Any idea that could help me? What else could I try to debug this?
I upgraded my phone to the KitKat version and now everything is working fine.
Hi guys,
I searched the web and found a few references to this but for previous versions and no real solution
I have used Bluetooth audio in my car daily with Spotify on my 3T but since I OTA upgraded to 4.1.7 from 4.1.6 the other day there is no sound when Spotify or any other media player is playing in my car via Bluetooth audio. The car says Unknown Track and Unknown Artist but the car can still control going to the next and previous songs in the Spotify app on the phone meaning the connection is working. The 3T thinks it is playing the songs in Spotify and I can pause and play it from the car controls. There is just no sound. Is this a common issues or is it just me? Is there any way to fix it? I saw somewhere it was a Nougat issue, does that mean even another ROM might have it? I'm hoping there is a fix that doest mean wiping my phone
Thanks
Hi,
I have exactly the same problem. I tried everything, but no sound comes out of my speakers. Any ideas?
For everyone consulting this Thread for the same issue, It has been noted by Devs at OnePlus, and they're working on it. It has been affecting many users.

Thanks. Is there a thread somewhere for that info, so I can keep an eye on it?

Appears to affect certain car (head unit) makes. 4.1.7 works fine on my Subaru (Kenwood head unit).
