Hello, I have a very annoying issue.
For some reason, my battery indicator doesn't refresh and get stuck a the percentage the battery is at when booting. For example : if the real percentage of the battery is 71%, when booting, it will show 71%, forever. Even if I use wifi for hour or more !
If I power off my phone, take the battery off, press the ON button for a while, then put the battery back and start it again, the battery show a lower percentage (the real one). But then stay forever at this new value.
What is wrong ? I tried wiping everything, flashed 3 different roms, tried with 3 different batteries with no success...
Help ?

Some more information would be useful, like:
Which bootloader you are. Old or New?
Which Rom's you used?
BTW, which Kernel and it's version?
hi
The battery lasts a few hours?

Hello!
I am presently on GamerzROM based on GB 2.3.6 XXJW4 Semaphore 2.7.4bm. Problem is that whenever I restart my phone for any reason, the battery level falls drastically. For example, if the battery level is 70%, after restart it goes to 10% or so. Later it starts going up slowly but only goes up to approx 50% of what it used to be before.
I even tried calibrating my battery a couple of times but the problem is still there. Why is this happening and how can I get rid of this?
Thank you.

Tried it but the problem is still intact... Battery was 66% and after following what you said, it came down to 9% after restart
sometimes it happens same on my sgs
it happens to me sometimes. mostly after flashing the new rom and this issue always solve by use the phone in couple of battery cycle.

calibrate your battery search xda or use battery calibration app on android market
Our phones battery gauge chip sometimes goes crazy when you reboot or flash something. Try to use the phone until 0% of battery and it shuts down then charge to full and calibrate. It should work.

wipe battery stats and then calibrate battery. there's a whole official thread for it somewhere in the forums.

This is the only actual solution. I can't find links right now, but it has been proven and confirmed by android devs several times that wiping battery stats has no effect whatsoever on actual battery performance or visual representation.
Sent from horseback.
I'm aware that this problem has happened to others, and I have seen solutions for this problem, but every fix I've come across works temporarily...and by that I mean a day or two.
While using my Atrix HD, when the battery reaches between 20-35%, the battery will suddenly drop to 0% and shut down. This usually occurs when I am using an app, such as MixZing or the camera app. Any attempts to turn the phone back on cause it to shut off again as soon as the boot animation finishes. The only way to keep it on is to plug it into a charger, and when it does boot, the battery shows the same percentage it had when the phone conked out on me. I've even tried calibrating the battery using NèMa's Battery Calibration app, and the problem still occurs...mainly because I can't get the battery to drain completely so I can properly calibrate the battery.
Long story short, I need a fix, or at least a suggestion as to how I can keep this problem at bay. Does anyone have information regarding this problem?
did you ever wipe the battery data when you flashing a new rom ?
I think you need to re-reconigz the battery .

Agree. In cwm there is an option to wipe battery stats.
I had a similar problem with my HTC First where at 25 % it would go straight to 10 an then to 0 in like 30 seconds...although that was on stock rom...
Do you have the m40 battery mod from maxx?

I don't use the eb40 mod, it's all stock hardware. Haven't tried wiping the battery stats, though; can't believe I overlooked that. I'll give it a shot and see if it does the trick.
EDIT: CWM doesn't seem to have an option for wiping battery stats for this phone; I've tried three versions and none of them give me that option.

I suggest you first write down the current battery volume , for example , now in the system ,you can see 60% battery left .
then you shut down the phone , connect your changer , the phone will change and the battery volume show . if this volume is not equal to the No. you see in the system , it means that your system have a wrong battery data record .

Shut down my phone, battery was at 91% (had charged it overnight). Plugged it in and the charging screen showed 90%. Is that what you were talking about, with the two battery volumes not being the same?
I think it's fixed!
I did a full system reset (including formatting the system, which I apparently had yet to do throughout all this time) to install a new ROM. Today the battery drained all the way down to 2% while I was browsing the web (something that normally would shut off the phone at around 30%) before shutting off. It seems that by skipping that crucial step, the system could not properly read/calibrate the battery when installing a new ROM, which may have caused this problem.
I think it's safe to say it's fixed. For now, at least, but I'm remaining optimistic. Thanks to everyone who pitched in with an idea or just said a few words; great to know people care around here.

I'm glad that you fixed it. I did the same but I still have that problem. When It's 20% it drops to 15% and then to 5% in 30 seconds.

Thankfully, I haven't had it drop that low that fast. Of course, this IS the Atrix HD, which carries such a weak battery compared to other phones in its class. Nevertheless, I feel great knowing that my phone doesn't shut off so unexpectedly. If it happens again, I'll do my best to deal with it, but for now...it's just success.
I had this problem after i force rebooted my phone, it got stuck at 1% when charging for almost 15mins. I had to turn the phone off.

for my understanding ,before you shut down the phont , you saw the batter volumes in system is 91% , and then you shut down the phont ,plug it in , and see the battery volume is 90% .I think in this situlation , the battery record in your system is correct ,cause 90% and 91% almost the same . I think your battery is dying , you should replace your battery

Well, a couple weeks later and I'm still not having the problem. The battery does still drain relatively fast (I go from 100% at about 9:00 A.M. to 35% at 3:00 P.M, with minimal usage such as checking Facebook/Twitter and stuff like that), but that's mostly due to the small battery capacity. The battery health is still good according to the scans and hardware checks I've done. I may, however, look into trying the EB40 mod if it means the battery will last much longer.

My phone got weird battery problem
My phone is 2 yr old & battery replaced last yr
S Off using custom rom insertcoin senseven artmod
I think physically battery is ok
Problem is phone shows battery discharging very quickly
after that what I do
reset battery stats by power off or auto shut down by low battery then holding vol up & power button screen on till phone off again then start phone again it will shows increased battery %
For eg using phone for 10 hrs with 1 hr screen on time it discharge 100 to 0% then I reset battery stats & start phone again it will shows 65% battery
2 nd thing if I'm charging phone it wether phone on or off (let's assume 35% ) it's % not increased but it shows phone using more power after some time it will shows less battery (15%)but in reality phone is charging after resetting battery stats with above method it will shows correct %(55%)
I tried these methods to correct it
Flash stock firmware again unsuccessful
Flash stock ruu again unsuccessful
Also tried vol up + vol down + power button holding for 2 minutes to battery stats reset
What I should do ?
I count manually battery life it's above 24 hr with screen on time of 2.5 hr

Did you re-downloaded your apps after flashing the ruu or you have tested the battery directly after flashing the ruu? (to make sure none of your apps or settings is draining the battery).

What about your apps? Like @alray asked. Have you tested with just the barebone stock rom with no apps installed?
I had a similar issue a while ago it turned out to be "Gsam Root companion" after removing the app my battery percentage returned to normal.

Err! Strange could be battery problem but it's weird how clearing stats cures it temporarily.
Have you tried resetting USB host mode with Vol up+down + power for 2 mins?
Maybe charge to 100% in all modes (on, off and in recovery) wipe stats reset USB host mode and reboot and monitor.

yes I tried Vol up+down + power for 2 mins
Unsuccessful
Whatever I do it always shows decreasing battery % but after battery stats reset it jumps to higher value
Even phone is off & put on charging battery shows decreasing trend but after reset shows correct %
Totally pissed off

I think your battery is going to die soon. Most likely some of its blocks are complitely dead, that's why it shows that kind of stats

Did you try to run your phone without rebooting to see how much it will last? Also, did you try another charger? Judging from your screenshots my guess is your battery is dying, but that would mean you couldn't get that much off charge and SOT to save your life. My battery is still pretty good, and I get just over 3 hours SOT and 36-48 hours off charge

ok let me explain screen shot
Anyhow I charged phone to 100% start it use it for 14-15 hr with 1-1.5 hr sot it goes to 0%
switched off or auto off
not charged
Battery stats reset with vol up + power button for 20 sec (it shows green HTC then goes off again)
Start phone again it shows 60% battery again (not charged )
Use 7-8 hrs with sot 1 hr approx
Goes to 0% again
Repeat process again shows battery 30-35% again
So this is screen shot history

I understood your screenshot. So, every time your phone shuts down, you do the reset thing, right? I would like to know what happens if you just try to turn on your phone after it shuts down. No reseting, no nothing. Simply try to turn it on

That's a lot like my old Xperia X1. Turned out it was charge regulator issue. You might want to look that up. If I remember correctly, Xperia had that regulator on its motherboard. I changed it and everything was fine after that. I think M7's charge regulator is in the battery, so we're back to faulty battery. But that's just my opinion, you might want to monitor charging current to see if your phone is getting correct charge current

I have 3 HTC phones in my family I use their charger randomly
My sister's HTC One m7 battery is fine no issues
I think my phones motherboard can have some issues as in warranty period it's battery changed 2 times so it could be !!
I got confused as after 1st battery replaced I hard brick phone & HTC changed motherboard after 2 months of that battery replaced again
Now I don't know what it is ?
I wish if battery is faulty it should dead asap so I can replace battery

Here's my problem:
My battery level suddently drop from 50% or 30% to 0% in few seconds.
When i'm in system on (for example) 90% battery, if i go in recovery my battery level is 5%.
I tried a battery calibration program with no results.
My last chanche is to try another kernel but, i can't find one!
I'm searching for a stock kernel with root and recovery for 5.0.1.
Now i'm on rockz1 kernel.
Someone know where to find a stock kernel that i can try without losing root?
Or maybe there is already a solution to this strange battery problem?
Sorry for this noob request.

There is nothing strange about this problem. You have classic symptoms of a dying battery. No kernel, rom, battery calibration or any other solution will help. Replace the battery and your problem will go away...
The reason your battery goes down suddenly is that it can't hold power due to deterioration of cells. In other words, only 5-10% can hold. Think of it as an air baloon: your baloon can hold 10% of air it used to hold and it will still rightfully show 100%, but once you start using it, the air goes fast and once it is close to empty, the system shuts down the phone. I bet it does not also take long to charge for the same reason.
If you don't believe me, do a test: start a youtube video when your battery is at 50%: I bet your phone wouldn't last more than 15 minutes.

Hello,
I have this problem for a while, where my battery percentage suddenly drops to 0% causing my phone to shut down. When I boot it up again it says 1%, or shuts down right before my login screen appears. After booting it a few times it will say the *real* percentage again, which is usually around 40%. I could also skip the multiple reboots by plugging the charger in before booting causing it to also display the original percentage.
I have tried recalibrating the battery a few times (by using an app that removes a file that stores the battery percentages), but unfortunately that did not help. I've included a picture of my battery statistics which show how my battery percentage changes.
Thanks for reading .
It means you have dead battery for, good luck ?
