I'm looking forward to this as I don't get service where I work but have wifi in the building! Hopefully our HTC One's will get this quickly!

I have had WiFi calling 2 years now. I use Google voice and groove ip. And I don't have to worrie about location.
And I can use it on any device with groove ip installed with my Google account on it.so when I am hacking my phone I can fire up my nexus 7 and use it to Make and receive calls, and text messages.

Google Voice is good, but still has it's limitations, especially when it comes to SMS and MMS. I use Google voice and Groove IP on my old cell phone as a "home" line.
FYA According to the author of Groove IP, Google voice is going to switch protocols and 15 May 2014 will cease to work with Groove IP.

That link talks about Google voice... Nothing specific to the one.
Just to share my wife and I did this for a time, we dropped sprint and went to straight talk. We had no way if making calls from the house and I had already ported our numbers to Google voice so we used the app for our text messages and grooveip for VoIP calling. It worked ok for us but definitely not all that reliable. We ended up going back to sprint in the end and using an airrave. Oh and we were doing that on a galaxy s2 and a captivate glide. As long as your android has WiFi connection you technically don't need an active line.

It is in the one forum. The HTC One has native internet calling. Look in settings>call. That thread that I started was to explain how to set it up. The route descriped there is way better than Groove ip. Clearer, no echo, etc.

Hmm, now I'm curious because I remember the EVO LTE having that option under call settings too. Might give it a spin on my sisters and see how it works.

Voice changing app?

Does anyone know if there is an app that allows voice changing?
or if some one is currently making one?
paid or free
SpoofApp does that, and there is another one similar. They both have the ability to record the call as well, with the voice change.

there's one called 123spoof for g1, they came out with i am t-pain for the iphone which is a autotune app.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=btN5yuVcRes - i am t-pain.
Yes i have used bluffmycall and spoof, but neither of them have many options on voice changing.
i was thinking more a voice changing application that allowed you to chose your pitch and other factors. not really a app that sends you to a third party.
if any developer is interesting in making one PM me

Will someone send me the skype.apk?

For some reason I can't see it in my Canadian 1.6 donut market on my G1
I want to be able to use skype to talk to people over data.
search google for "android market enabler". Use it to set your properties to tmobileUS.
I did. It's not showing skype. I see other apps that were not there but Skype's not one of them.

You can't talk through data with skype, it's useless app.
I think that app has been taken down because I can't find it on the market either.
Here is skype. I found it on 4shared:

Skype will be releasing a true data client shortly, just wait for it.
If you absolutely need to use Skype right now and you already have a Gizmo5 account, you can install Sipdroid and use Gizmo5's Skype connector service. Obviously this is not as practical a solution as a native Skype client.
Is there any way to do international texting relatively cheap / free other than skype too?

Try Fring. It supports Skype with Voip. Can make Skype and Skype-out calls.

for text try voipcheap.com and eventually using it with and after use the sbmessj as a software on your android phone to manage everything. Of course you need a connection data too.

Google talk or call

How to get Google talk or call to work in other places apart from the US?
Sent from my X10i
I think you mean google voice? there's no such thing as 'call', and Gtalk is their IM service which is available world-wide. There are some methods available, but judging by people's comments they are extremely unreliable. I'd like to think that when someone contacts me via phone or SMS, *they will be able to contact me*, for me it's not worth messing with even though I'd really like to use GV.
Well if the a person studies abroad and has to call back home its gonna be pretty expensive. I installed skype but it has. Horrible voice quality.

There was an app in the market place via which one can make video caller rather phone calls for free via ggoogle voice. But they mentioned that its available only to US customrrs
I think this is only available to US customers, you can only call through gtalk to gtalk just like Skype. Gtalk call is very limited.

maybe soon Gtalk will release a better version but right now we have to deal with it. You can just use Skype for the meantime.

Hardly, I've using video calling on Gtalk via iChat, it works very well.
You can't call a service crap just because it doesn't offer a feature that you want (which it never advertised).
Well Google voice only runs in America.

Huh? I have perfect call quality with both google talk voice, and skype. You prob had bad internet at that moment. Maybe something updating.
If it's a girl, calling would be the classical way of doing it, but video chatting might be a little better... I don't know.
Yeah I guess

SIP/VoiP apps

HAs anyone tried using their KFHD as a phone yet? I have been really tossing around the idea of just using my tablet as a phone and was wondering if its possible on the KFHD? I have done research on other tablets using clients like Groove iP, Google Voice, Talkatone etc. I thought I saw someone asking for a apk for Viber on here awhile ago but cant seem to find it anywhere. Thanks in advance!

Yes. Just made a call a few minutes ago, actually. I'm using Groove IP linked to my Google Voice account. Working great. I haven't attempted a bluetooth headset or anything like that though yet. I'm using an ancient ass microphone with Speakerphone on.

Hmm very nice.. Hows the connection on the other side any complaints? What about using headphones with a mic?

The connection is quite clear, but a bit quiet. That's with the volume turned up full blast, too. Haven't had any issues otherwise. You'd definitely want to invest in the headphone route. Haven't tried them myself, though.

[VIDEO] AT&T Standalone Visual Voicemail on Samsung Galaxy S5

So you don't really have to watch the video to understand what is going on here. I usually post those as reminders to people on my Youtube channel that there is an easy, non intrusive way to get visual voicemail as an AT&T user.
A while back they stopped bundling AT&T phones with their Visual Voicemail bloatware. They replaced it with AT&T Messages. The main thing most people disliked about that was the fact that it took over as the default text messenger as well. However, we can still use AT&T's VVM app.
Play Store Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.att.mobile.android.vvm
Wow, no YouMail option in the poll? I switched to YouMail back on my S3 when I was running a ROM that wouldn't work with AT&T VVM and it's all I've ever used since on any phone and any rom, stock or custom.
I haven't touched You mail in ages. Signed up for it but my provider at the time didn't allow free forwarding to an out of area zip. Not sure I can modify the poll, but I'll check.

No worries. I'm just surprised more people don't use it. The customization (personlized greetings, etc.) is really nice.
