Hi !
Here is an useful xposed module for our Kindle Fire HDX.
"HDXPosed" is a module for the xposed framework. With this module enabled you won't need to modify any files (services.odex, framework-res.apk) for our main HDX tweaks.
It will actually do the following :
Disable signature check : allow any APK to be installed/replaced
DownloadManager fix : allow gmail, chrome and any other download to work
Content provider fix : allow play store downloads on stock DownloadManager
Wallpaper fix : use a wallpaper on alternates home screen
Prevent Amazon OTA updates
Installation :
Download and install the "Xposed Framework"
Download and install the "HDXPosed.apk" file below
Launch the "Xposed" application
Go to framework and click install
Go to modules and enable HDXPosed
Reboot
Source code :
https://github.com/Cpasjuste/HDXPosed
Of course you can use and redistribute in any ways. Sources will follow.

Here is a very usefull xposed module for our Kindle Fire HDX. I'm developping this module for my gapps-rom but since i still have a few days of work before it's ready i tough it would be a good idea to release the mod as this.
So "HDXPosed" is a module for the xposed framework. With this module enabled you won't need to modify any files (services.odex, framework-res.apk) for our main HDX tweeks. Note that this module is for the 7" device (thor) but would probably work any HDX (to be tested).

DownloadManager fix : allow gmail, chrome and any other download to work
Wallpaper fix : use a wallpaper on alternates home screen

Thanks man, keep up the good work, I look forward to working gapps and amazon apps in harmony on our device!
Edit: I can confirm downloading works on chrome now, thanks again man!
Works on HDX 8.9. Thank you!

Works perfect on HDX 8.9.
Thanks!
- Could anyone please explain with simple words what is an xposed framework and what it does?
- Can i use Play Store after this?
- It's Safestrap required for this?
Thanks!
Gmail won't open for me. Anyone else?

Good start Cpasjuste. I am waiting for you to finish up. As you can see someone is still having problems with Gmail. So, it seems your version may be worth the wait. Thanks for all your hard work!

Entirely possible! I was playing back and forth between your 4.2.2 and stock and thinking back I may not have done a soft reboot after installing. I'll check.

Could we go about getting the Play Store running using this mod? I've installed and placed vending.apk and a few other requisite apps I know are needed to run the Play Store in system/app (Google Services Provider. Account and Sync Settings) and changed permissions, I was able to enter my account credentials but every time I go to use the market it will open very briefly then pop up with 'Google Play store has stopped.' Any ideas about what needs to be done?
You probably need to install alternate DownloadManager*.apk which can be found in my gapps thread in the general forum.

So I've installed the DownloadProvider and DownloadProviderUI APIs from your Thor gapps thread, and now the Play Store will open but spontaneously crash and downloads will act as though they start but the transfer never actually begins. Should I grab all the GApps from your Thor rom and place them in my system/app folder as a way to try shotgunning a soulution?

When I installed.exposed framework it keeps saying that is not installed. Do I need ancestral for this? Or what am I doing wrong?
Two things I've noticed. Rebooting costs a bootloop which I can't get out of unless I go into recovery and wipe dalvik/cache. Thank god for that working at least. Second, is the module supposed to list out 1.0 or 1.1 as I tried to install the 1.1 over the 1.0 but it still says 1.0. Will try to disable it first and then update again...

It's just an xposed error. It is 1.1 even though says 1.0.

Try this, I have gapps and all Amazon services working side by side.
1. Start with stock rooted install on a rom slot.
2. Install Androidcowboy's gapp's per his tutorial with the exception of moving the vending apk. Just install vending apk. wherever you downloaded to(don't know if this matters).
3. Install xposed and reboot.
4. Install Cpasjuste's xposed module and reboot.

Hello the deluxe settings apk is out. I have a JKay Deluxe mod on my mobile and is working fine. I want to ask you if the apk will work to my mobile and allow me to add more mods etc.
Answered in JKays thread but here for you also;
The framework by itself is working, but you need to use a different updater script - otherwise it won't install.
Look in the I9305 dev section @ Ripper Rom.
The .apk is NOT working. A few people (including myself) are looking at it to try and see why...

Okay thank you..
Any news about the apk?? Did you manage to make it work?
I saw jkay has said he has made the deluxe settings 14.3 visible for the i9305 now. So just have to wait for it to be verified by google then we can try it out.
Sent from my GT-I9305 using XDA Premium HD app
^^It has been verified by Google but (when I checked) it does not appear on the Play Store app "in-device".
Find it on the full website (via a PC/Mac or try the Internet Browser) and 'push' the app to your phone.
There is a new framework (14.3) that you need as well, but I can confirm it currently works on I9305.
NB may not work on all ROMs. Can confirm working on Ripper ROM V5.
appears in the Play Store fine for me.

At the time of writing, it had not been appearing in-device, even after installing
It appears that this has now been updated.
I can download and search for the apps fine but once it's actually installing, the package installer is stuck.
Download and install a previous version of Aptoide. The same problem you describe, appeared on me with the latest version of Aptoide.

For Aptoide, not. You must however, enable the "unknown packages" option in the Settings\Security panel.
i have the same problem
this problem is caused by aptoide , in the new versione the file downloaded havent .apk extension and the installer doesn't work
if rename the file EXAMPLE in EXAMPLE.apk the installer works correctly but u have to do this with all the application downloaded :/
i want to try to modify to rename the file with extension
Is there an app that's similar or better than aptoide?

Aptoide is the best cydia-like app we have in Android. That's the end of it. If anyone else is experiencing installation problems with the latest versions of Aptoide, all he has to do is simply install an older version of Aptoide. It may be simpler in looks, but, most importantly, it WORKS!

Does anyone know where to install an old version of aptoide? Whenever I try, it always gives me 4.0
Works fine fir me, after upgrading to 4.0 just delete the .aptoide folder then stop the app and clear data in app settings.
Relaunch let it add the default repo and any updating onstalls fine...

Latest recovery is recommended.
This is my first flashable zip so I hope you like it.
If you do like it, please hit that thanks button.
Download Link: http://caftp.pcsat.tv/flashable_zips/google_music_installer
Troubleshooting:
Q: I am getting error status 7 in the recovery
A: Upgrade to the latest recovery image.
Q: I forgot to wipe the dalvik cache after flashing it but the system still works with Google Music
A: Same but I would suggest to wipe the dalvik cache anyway if you previously installed Google Music.
Q: I am getting alot of force closes since I flashed this, WHAT IS GOING ON?!
A: If you do have Google Music installed from the play store then I suggest to uninstall it before flashing to avoid conflicts.
Q: My question is the same has the above but instead of force closes I ended up having two Google Music applications
A: Uninstall Google Music from the Play Store, if you installed it from a external source then go to the following: Settings>Apps
Q: After flashing Google Music, it will keep force closing everytime opening it with some java Unsupported error
A: Its probably the Android version, libs, Java code or something but this is only tested on JB but it would definitely work for ICS for sure.

I am currently using LiGUX + N.O.P.E. Kernel V2.6.
I found one problem and maybe someone can help me.
I cannot install an application from Google market.
There is a cross mark and message "This item is not compatible with your device".
But earlier when I used CyanogenMod10 BUILD #3 + N.O.P.E. Kernel V2.6. or at begin with stock ROM I have nothing problem use this application.
If I am using Market helper to hide my device, then I can install this application, but cannot run. In this case is error something like "missing library".
Any suggestion or idea what to do?

You Can try Warriors Method but here is a explanation!
The Gplay Store Reads the build prop file so if there is modifications to it that the app doesn't support Google play will say NO!
I would try editing the build.prop file

I see, it uses location-aware dependencies. First make sure you have Google Maps and Google Search installed. Then try deleting the cache of Play Store, reboot and try again. If it's still not working then try the steps in the Codename Lungo thread.

Yes. That should fix it. I need to edit that post because it's missing a few steps:
A) You need to have Google Maps and Google Search installed.
B) After you extract the file to the Permissions folder, assign same r/w permissions.
3) After you complete the steps, clear Play Store cache and then reboot.
Let me know if you need more help.

Hello everyone,
I have just created an app to enable or disable Xposed in a click. Hope you like it, here's the package name: com.dotweb.xposedswitch (search for it on the Play Store)
How does it work?
Well, it uses an interesting feature of Xposed: the disabled file. However, to apply changes, you need to reboot.
The what?!
The disabled file is located here: /data/data/de.robv.android.xposed.installer/conf/disabled -- the Xposed Installer app's data directory.
Whenever this file is detected, whatever it contains, the Xposed framework will be disabled, and no modules will work. I guess you see where this is going.
But it's not in the SD card?
Well spotted! This is why the app also needs root access. Since it cannot disable Xposed by other means, you need to grant it root access. No worries, I tested whatever the app does.
Why would we want to disable Xposed then?
Not specifically disable it, the app can also re-enable it if it was disabled because of a problem. Also, disabling Xposed can be a good thing to do troubleshooting if your device has problems, etc.
I guess you know everything now, and I hope this app will be useful!
Until next time,
TheSola10
New update: Horizontal layout, SDK25 build and multi window manifest
Material Xposed Installer already has this. I had to install your app to find out it requires reboot. You might want to add that to the OP. Thanks.

Well okay, but it's a warmup or sth, and I have never seen that feature with Material Xposed Installer. Also as it's an app that only does that, I can add a widget and stuff. Thanks for feedback!
