Frustrated with kernels please help

This Is part Rant Bare with me...
I downgraded To 4.1.2 from 4.2.1 to get directory bind to work . Im using the Custo nexus 4.1.2 Rom and Flashed The faux123 kernel to have OTG Host + charging + just OTG Host with no power . the problem is Bluetooth now doesnt work ... the developer of the faux kernel told me to flash Franco kernel and Bluetooth should work , to my knowledge tho Franco kernel wont allow OTG Host + charging + just OTG Host with no power Capability.
So heres what i need a kernel that works with Custo nexus 4.1.2 Rom ( i believe one just compatible with cm10 may work) That allows OTG Host + charging + just OTG Host with no power , That also has bluetooth working .
Can anyone please help me
can anyone atleast point me to the most stable Franco kernel for 4.1.2 ive been searching for 2 days now all thru the forum and googling . all i can find is for 4.2 and up ... Please and thank you in advance
http://minooch.com/franciscofranco/Nexus7/boot-r25.img Pretty sure that's Franco's last 4.1.2 kernel for the Nexus 7
http://minooch.com/franciscofranco/Nexus7/4.2/boot-r38.img is his latest, but it's intended for 4.2

Thank you so much .. will test this asap ...
Timur's latest kernel for 4.2.1 is perfect for what i need but then directory bind doesnt work on 4.2.1 ... i swear its like u fix 1 thing another breaks with the N7 . lol .....
if this works i will just have to give up otg host + charging capability , which i really needed ... but if i can have a stable kernel with atleast otg Host and Bluetooth working then ill take that for now. i dont want to deal with the hassle of flashing a new rom now and res setting everything up ( i like to reinstall all from scratch to avoid duplicates and issues)
just flashed the franco kernel and bluetooth still not working. guess i will have to live without it for now.... going back to faux 123 kernel atleast i'll have otg host + charging and just otg Host with no power capability ... i really needed bluetooth to connect a wireless game pad. tho ... back to the drawing board

[Q] The most Stable 4.1 / 4.2 ROM avaible?

Hello, i want to change my friend I9000 that he bought but can't use 3G , only GPRS. (That is not the problem, so don't mind this)
He asked me for checking this and find out what's wrong, well i was looking around stuff and figured out the phone is using lidroid 1.2 (Android 2.3.4 , kerlen 2.6.35.7 , bandbase I9000ZSJPJ)
I already know the basics of ROM stuff (I have a Galaxy Y , i have already changed the ROM and other stuffs, so you guys don't need to explain the very basics)
So, i was looking for a Jelly Bean ROM, 4.1 or 4.2 to use on his phone, my requeriments are basic:
- A nice, simple ROM
- Crash as hard as possible
- Less bugs possible (Specially on basid daily things like calling, camera, gaming ,other stuff)
- Have Portuguese language and support the Brazilian frequencies (its international so whatever)
What do you guys recommend? Plus, is I9000 modding safe? What are the chances of something going wrong? because - If something goes wrong and can't be fixed, he will kill me plus i will have to give my cellphone to him
Well first of all if your friend asks you to help him, he should know that flashing can always crash the rom!
Something can happen always. Let him do the flashing. If you help him and something happens it does not have to be your fault
I can recommend Xylon or C-Rom by Aways
all of them run pretty smooth and stable

Xperia X8 wi-fi not working(JB Mini Project)

Hello guys,
I am brand new here,as after 3 years of owning a X8 i decided to jump to other ROM,because i was bored of the simple design of his menu and i was so frustrated to stay back with android market when my friends had messenger for facebook e.g.,i had to refresh again and again my opera..and much more apps and games i would like to play. So,i decided to start searching for new ROMs,and i found MIUI,but i wasnt able to find a stable version to dl for my phone. Then i found JB Mini Project,I succeeded on installing it on X8 but there is one thing that wont work in every version of JB i have tried!THE WI-FI!It is really frustrating for me!I am so begginner to those things, but i understand that its not only me that will have this problem and that developers might be working on it right now(I am 3D designer and i know about beta versions of things, even I have to release again and again my creation because of a bug),but i really hope someone had this problem too and found a fix on it..I tried a fix i found in forums with Titanium Backup, but nothing...
Anyone knows anything..just help me out with this.:crying:
Thanks in advance guys!:cyclops:

Patience my friend x)
What wifi problem do you have? Unable to detect Adhoc connection?
Have You tried this Kernel + Rom ? (All JB rom is unable to scan adhoc wifi. Except if you make changes to the source and compile it yourself)
If you want to surf the internet but with not using wifi and using a cable, This is a Post for you.
use back stock ROM (just kidding

Maybe the rom + kernel combination is wrong or the rom is just being buggy.
I just personally liked nAa's work because he release a stable version of every product.
If you want to change into the recommended rom that I just told you;
1. Flash the latest kernel (06)
2. Follow instruction on the kernel post. (/system wipe at recovery before flashing a rom & etc)
3. Flash the rom. Followed by the GAPPS
4. As it said, this is my recommendation steps. I do not guarantee your satisfactory

[Q] Problems with network search (CM 7.1.0-X8)

Hello everyone,
Recently I have upgrae my phone to CM 7.1.0-X8 (with kernel 2.6.29.6-nAa-11).
Unfortunately I have a problem when I try to browse mobile networks: an error appears (message 'Error while searching for networks'). I cannot log in to a network different than my own (this will cause problem with roaming abroad).
On another forum I have noticed that someone came across this problem on HTC phone and change of a library file (libhtc_ril.so) helped in that case but I neither have this library in my installation, nor it is a SE phone.
Can anyone help in this case? Thanks a lot in advance.

Trying using the latest version of the kernel that would be version 2.6.29.6-nAa-13.
Here is the link to the kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1350484
And are you using the Official CM7 for you phone? If you are, trying using MiniCM7 its much better.
Here is a link to the ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1362585

Yep, I'm using CM7 official Shakira version. Having read your post I'm wondering at the following issues:
1. What are the differences between official CM7 I have installed and Mini CM7?
2. Basically - current instalation works fine, apart from the network selection. Perhaps it would be sufficient to replace a specific library in my installation with another one from Mini CM7 version?
3. Is Mini CM7 better than normal CM7?

Official CM7 is pretty old and discontinued. You can think of MIniCM7 like an update that started when the Official CM7 for the X8 ended. So MiniCM7 is probably better in every way (I say probably because I have never used the Official CM7, but you never hear some one recommend the Official CM7 over MiniCM7). Also a lot of other ROMs are based on MiniCM7 so that says something. Replacing a library will be more complicated than switching Kernel and ROM and who knows if it will even work, you might end up breaking it more than fixing it.

I have upgraded my phone to MiniCM7 version. It has solved all the problems that existed earlier. Apart from problems with network, also the phone speaker is louder (as with the original SE Rom), FM Radio is also present.
Thanks a lot.:good:

[Q&A] [ROM][4.4][NIGHTLY] OmniROM 4.4 for GT-N7000

Q&A for [ROM][4.4][NIGHTLY] OmniROM 4.4 for GT-N7000

Newbie needs help
Hi,
My GTn7000 is unrooted with original Samsung ROM. My phone has become so old that, the USB port is not working. This is the first time am trying to put a different ROM in this phone. Since my USB is out, i can only rely on SD card. Is it possible to accomplish new Kernal installation and New mod installation, all with just SD card support? I want to go for OMNI rom for sure, since it appears to be the best stable rom.
If the answer is yes, i will start taking back up and stuff. Please help me do this. Phone is extremely slow and lots of unnecessary apps to get rid off.
Thanks
Dewan
Yes it is possible using ext SD. Read Philz kernel. Then go for raw kernel. Then you are ready for Omni & Gapps. There is a small risk though. If the installation fails or something goes wrong somewhere and you wont have access to recovery then pretty much screwed. So keep that in mind.

You must really be careful - no USB means no ODIN to flash you out of softbricks.
Install [2014.05.01][ROOT] Mobile ODIN v4.20. It may help to get you out of trouble.
I do use Omni on my N7000 supported device, It is great.
To make it easier to transfer files to your phone use [APP] Samba Server for Android. It will allow to map your phone as a network drive under Windows and use wifi for transfers.
And yes, start by flasing raw kernel. It will give you TWRP to flash Omni.
Screen does not go to sleep
ok my issue was solved i think just by flashing a new gapp.

Hello to everyone,
I want to update to Omni from CM10.1.3,
please, help me with few issues.
Should I use Gapps exactly for N7000 (the link doesn't work) or I can use official for all roms?
Is it stable enough for daily use or should I find more stable rom yet?
Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,late comer here.
Can i install this rom using this latest kernel? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1901191&page=405
And another thing - what is raw kernel?
TIA
No you can't. Philz is for stock (touchwiz based) roms. You need RAW kernel for this OmniRom.
Hi,
I have a problem with the nightly. Everything worked perfectly but then my power button stopped working. This is not a hardware problem because I can start the phone with the power button when its off. The problem occurs only with booted omnirom.
Can you help me? I tried several restarts and an update to the newest nightly.
Thanks in advance.

Hello XDA, I'm new here, so sorry if anything is inaccurate.
I was just wondering whether the Video Playback Issue has been fixed.
I was recommended to move to OmniRom after frequent crashes with CM (my phone couldn't last 20 hours without crashing or requiring a reboot.)
Thank you in advance.

Empty Omnirom nighly folder
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 n8013 and have been using the Omnirom 4.4.4 nightlies for a while now. For the last few weeks the Omnirom nightly folder is empty. Is it just me, or did things move? Is this how we're told a version is done and it's time to move on? I see there is a maintainer build for Omni 5.1.x and I'm getting the hint it's time for me to move on to it I'm guessing but I don't know.
