Dear all,
I just upgraded my tab into overcome 3.1 from my initial GB 2.3 . The reason why i started to discover some issue on my batt usage is within 2hrs it will take off 20% of my batt when i fully charged in the morning.
After which i check on my application - batt use - it show "display" is at 92% on the top and android system is at 2% at the bottom. Whereby when i use GB 2.3 rom, it will show andoid system is at 80~90% and display is at the bottom of 3%.
(Note: i have even set my display to the lowest and set it to Auto mode, some of the un use application i also shut down)
I have started to think should i change back to GB 2.3 or is there any brother outside can advise what should i do to change this situation. Hope someone can help me on this ..... Thanks in advance.

dear all, after further confirmed, my colleagues also having the same problem as my, I was wonder is there a bug in this version as em not sure why the consumption of the battery was so high after installing overcome 3.1
First of all, old ROM had a bug, battery usage was displayed wrong. That is fixed, but they are now working on R2 version of kernel (Reverted lowmemkiller change which may have been blocking kswapd0 from sleeping, resulting in battery leakage).
This last kernel has a new ROM as it's base, so you have to install new ROM first and then full wipe version of kernel.
Good to hear I am not the only one.
Hermes was an awesome rom concerning battery stamina. I hope the guys from Overcome will make this R2 release just as good.

The latest version of the overcome kernel is pretty good on battery life for me.. the only thing that seems to be wrong is the reported charge level against the battery display level..
Even after calibration its still way off (20%)..

i think you need to perform a "wipe on batt" in cwm maybe can help. Anyway i also discover that my tap below 4 buttons occasionally the light will be blinking on and off during at the standby mode, i belived this also can cus some batt drain off too. Anyway, most of the people are concerning about batt duration especially devise such as non-detachable batt. For me, i use my tap outside most of the time especially during business trip hangging in the train station or airport.... Well, i think we appreciate the overcome team and the rest of you guys to test it out and gain feedback for improment.... cheerss... and Selamat Hari Raya to all muslim people ya.
did you try the tweaks here re: Battery Recalibration and Reconditioning…
http://p1000.teamovercome.net/?page_id=68
and do note that:
battery wipe by itself would not immediately “improve” your battery life. IN FACT, during the first charge cycle after a battery wipe, you might notice a slightly less than optimal battery-life! This is because, the stats have to be rebuilt, which is why after a couple of FULL charge cycles after the battery wipe, when the stats are properly “repopulated”, which is when you’ll see the difference.

yes, i have did that after going through the forum, and today is a second day after the wipe, but i would recognized that if you put the tab in Normal stanby mode, the batt will drop about 1% in about 4hrs since i have started to monitor this morning... well, i will continue to monitor aand post it again. thanks for your advise.
my one on overcome 3.3.1 seems to last at least 1 hr when the battery notification show 0!!!
I have tested my second days after batt wipe, it seem that if we put at standby mode the batt really better then earlier versions, i can notice that last night was 26% at 2.30am and this morning waikup at 7.15am, the batt indicate 24%. (Note : my wifi is on, except BT and GPS is off).
My conclusion for now is that the OC 3.1 batt life is ok and even better when it was in standby mode, however whenever any application for example browsing internet or starting reading news, the batt will start to drain off like 1% every 3min (my estimation point of view).
Hope the OC team can help to improve from here OR the nature of this OC 3.1 is normal on this circumstanses. Cheerssss....

Make sure that brightness is not full, set it down to lowest and test battery again. If you'll use the Power Saving mode, it'll easily give you 2-3 hours extra, try turning it on and see if it makes a difference.
Some users also suggest draining your entire battery and then charging it continuously for 5-6 hours switched off. That shows better backup results as well.

And the maximum brightness that is not why the battery drained so fast. In just 2 hours battery too low. Try a battery recalibration and uninstall the application that processes in the background.

Yea, on the screenshot there is no point where battery was 100%.
Discharge battery untill phone shuts down, then charge it to 100% when it is off.
Flash stock gingerbread....

Guys, it's been for over two months since my battery began to fail.
When the phone reachs 70% of charging, it just jumps to 100%.
When the phone reachs 30% of battery, he simply turns off instantly. (Battery goes to 0%)
I already tried to left on charging for 12 hours, 24, used a lot of different wall chargers, no effect. Tried to use a different ROM, CM 11, CM 12 (unofficial), 4.2.2 stock, 4.4.2 and 4.4.4, no effect as well. Also tried to charge with the phone turned off, fail.
Is there any way to fix this without having to buy a new phone battery? Also I do not have warranty anymore.
Thanks!

U shud try flashing ftf and wiping all data even the internals or maybe der is some kernels problem or TA mismatch

Flashed lots of tfts, no result.
I'll try the battery recalibration. Thank you!

did you did a factory reset after install?
Mine is draining so fast. Even when turned off. I didn't do a factory reset after install because i dont want to lose any data. My maximum charge is 11% after 3 hours. I dont even know if i can flash anything because it's lowbat.
for me is ok. the battery life is good, and i got overheathing only when i did a first start after i installed it. try to install kernel aduitor and see if all governors are on "ondemand", and if all freqs are ok.
reinstalled and did everything as it should be but stll gets hot and quickly drains out battery sometimes not always
without using battery drains to 50% in few hours
Possible Solution to Over heating after lollipop install

How old is your device? Looks like the battery is having issues. Or maybe the motherboard is supplying over current to the processor.
Its about 2 yrs old. But the heating started just after lollipop update. Before it was ok, no problem was there.
having the same issue since update to lollipop. really annoying thing. battery drained in an half hour down to 89%. that just cant be normal.. phone is not rooted or anything.

Today I'm with 82% battery but with 59 minutes of screen on time (~70% brightness) and some more of music playing. Also using Stamina Mode. Heats a bit, but doesn't show any draining symptom.
If you still face overheating problems, I suggest downloading the Greenify app and hibernating many apps. That worked for me on S4 when it was with a similar problem.

I have the LG Leon for MPCS w/ 5.0.2 root-TWRP. I began experiencing this after flashing a sound engine mod. I also noticed my charging port pin was bent slightly. Another possibility was changing CPU gov-I/O-min. freq.
I flashed mod remove zip, then restored from Nandroid prior to, and fixed pin. Still had it.
BUT: I kept my phone on top of my AC unit vent for roughly 13 hours while it was on & plugged in, set brightness to night mode, 15 sec time out, and disabled daydream.
PROBLEM GONE.
Also set CPU back to reg. settings.
CPU has been steady 28-30 deg. C all day.
Hope this helps.

Hi guys, long time since I've been on here.
I have a S4 i9500, and I was having mega drainage issues. I installed Novalaunch, and disabled the samsung touchwiz crap - battery usage is SOO much better already. I have had lollipop for a few months now, and I did factory reset it, twice, and install all the apps manually via google play. It got so bad, that i HAD to run my phone with power save on ALL THE TIME, and even then, it would be pretty hungry. the other day, I ran it on full power(1.6ghz) and it chewed 40% in around 1 hour. All I was doing was had Pandora music on.
I have a tool called 'Cool Tools', and I monitored the IO activity bfore, and it show pretty high utilization all the time, even with the screen off. With Novalauncher, its hitting rock bottom(low), even while using it..
Its soo good now, to give you an idea - I charged my phone last night(around 9pm), and restarted it and unplugged the charger. I ran it on full power(power save OFF), over night, with data on, and it only chewed 15%. MASSIVE difference. I'm at 60% now, and I've been running Pandora for at least 3 hours now, and using some other apps as well. Its been 14 hours or so already.

Even I faced fast battery drain with Touchwiz launcher.
Now running custom ROM and seeing that CPU usage is lesser and battery stays longer.
However, nothing can beat Kitkat's battery usage. Lollipop, according to me, is a battery killer wrapped in material design for disguise.
Xperia z1 battery drain issue or problem
I FOUND THE MAIN CULPRIT FOR BATTETY DRAIN AFTER 5.1.1 LOLLIPOP UPDATE. Its the overheat control app. As you all may know that after first update from jellybean 4.2 to kitkat 4.4, the phone tends to get overheated while multitasking. Thus overheat control app eats up the battery and drain it when the phone starts getting hot.
I REQUEST ALL THE DEVELOPERS TO CHECK IT AND PROVE IF I M WRONG.
I m sure that Google will find the answer to the battery drain issue fix in overheat control app.

I have a issue with my Mi9, I bought it used and the battery it came with was not the original one, it was from a Mi A1 if I remember correctly (BN41). After replace the battery with original battery, the battery works regular like for one month.
I installed a custom roms and all works fine, but the battery didn't last as long as i expected so i decided to look into it.
And the kernel files gaves me an incorrect number for capacity (mAh) of my battery. I remember I remember that the file charge_full gave me the result 1633000 (1633 mAh), I changed this and try to calibrate to the real capacity, but here comes the problem, the battery started draining for obvious reasons (not calibrate).
After calibrate the battery, battery drain problem is gone, but when i started to install custom roms, the battery the battery instantly went out of calibration, maybe only the miui based roms don't have this issue, but the other yes, and the miui based roms, when i restart the phone like 2 times, they modified the value of the battery and decreased it.
The battery degraded after a few months, so i replaced it. But the problem continues.
Anyone have a simular issue or knows what happen?
Thanks people of the community.
I have also been having issues since installing a different rom where my battery started dyeing at 10% and a few weeks later it started dyeing at 20%. I'm not sure if this is a software or battery issue as I haven't tried changing the battery yet. How did you go about calibrating your battery?

i think is a battery issue, these happn to me. Try back to stock rom and calibrate the battery, use the phone until phone power off without screen off and i think these calibrate automatic, if not, try to modify values of sys/class/power_supply/bms/charge_full and sys/class/power_supply/battery/charge_full with less values, but it's more complicated, don't try this if u don't know i think (calibrate is bad for the battery life, but if u do one time it's ok).
I don't recommend modify the values of charge_full file because future problems with the battery.
Ok thank you I'll try to drain the battery and full charge it.

Xiaomi programmed obsolescence on battery
H, since I updated from miui 10 to miui 11 and even now that I have miui 12 I have noticed that the battery doesn't last as long as before. I state that since I purchased the phone (July 2019) I have always charged the battery in the best way...
forum.xda-developers.com
i had news with these battery problems. Recently i changed my battery (before I say that) and the global rom works normal, not speacially a marvelous, but it's ok. I find a miui based rom called "One Os" and the battery works really great with this rom.
I calibrate the battery again and it works, nice battery for all day, like 15% or 20% than global rom.
This rom is xiaomi.eu based but more debloated.
I don't think this rom have a better performance/battery than miui 11, little buggy in my opinnion, but for the battery and with my use, i don't have to charge like 2 times per day.
