did you did a factory reset after install?

Mine is draining so fast. Even when turned off. I didn't do a factory reset after install because i dont want to lose any data. My maximum charge is 11% after 3 hours. I dont even know if i can flash anything because it's lowbat.

for me is ok. the battery life is good, and i got overheathing only when i did a first start after i installed it. try to install kernel aduitor and see if all governors are on "ondemand", and if all freqs are ok.

reinstalled and did everything as it should be but stll gets hot and quickly drains out battery sometimes not always
without using battery drains to 50% in few hours

Possible Solution to Over heating after lollipop install
I had the same issue of Xperia Z1 Compact over heating after lollipop install. I backed up all my data using Sony Companion and reset my phone to factory. After that my phone is working like a champ. No more over heating and battery life last over a day and half. Hope this help.

guys,
I had the same issue and im thinking to downgrade to kitkat for real

I have tried it.. No use. It will heat up in kitkat too. Really annoying.

How old is your device? Looks like the battery is having issues. Or maybe the motherboard is supplying over current to the processor.

Its about 2 yrs old. But the heating started just after lollipop update. Before it was ok, no problem was there.

having the same issue since update to lollipop. really annoying thing. battery drained in an half hour down to 89%. that just cant be normal.. phone is not rooted or anything.

Hi,
For those who are rooted and with a custom kernel, I have faced the same problem recently and after playing a bit with CPU configuration on "Pimp My Z1" app it seemed to work again.
First thing I did was reboot the device, that way I was sure that no app I've opened was draining my battery.
Second I opened the "Pimp My Z1" app and changed the configuration of CPU to:
Maximum: 1958MHz
Minimum: 300MHz
Governor: lionheart

Click to collapse
Also set the max clock of GPU to 320MHz.
As for the power management config, I've set this way:
Multi Core Power Saving: Aggressive.
Hotplug Driver: Intelliplug
Eco Mode: On
Power Suspend: On

Today I'm with 82% battery but with 59 minutes of screen on time (~70% brightness) and some more of music playing. Also using Stamina Mode. Heats a bit, but doesn't show any draining symptom.
If you still face overheating problems, I suggest downloading the Greenify app and hibernating many apps. That worked for me on S4 when it was with a similar problem.

Worked for me
I have the LG Leon for MPCS w/ 5.0.2 root-TWRP. I began experiencing this after flashing a sound engine mod. I also noticed my charging port pin was bent slightly. Another possibility was changing CPU gov-I/O-min. freq.
I flashed mod remove zip, then restored from Nandroid prior to, and fixed pin. Still had it.
BUT: I kept my phone on top of my AC unit vent for roughly 13 hours while it was on & plugged in, set brightness to night mode, 15 sec time out, and disabled daydream.
PROBLEM GONE.
Also set CPU back to reg. settings.
CPU has been steady 28-30 deg. C all day.
Hope this helps.

Hi guys, long time since I've been on here.
I have a S4 i9500, and I was having mega drainage issues. I installed Novalaunch, and disabled the samsung touchwiz crap - battery usage is SOO much better already. I have had lollipop for a few months now, and I did factory reset it, twice, and install all the apps manually via google play. It got so bad, that i HAD to run my phone with power save on ALL THE TIME, and even then, it would be pretty hungry. the other day, I ran it on full power(1.6ghz) and it chewed 40% in around 1 hour. All I was doing was had Pandora music on.
I have a tool called 'Cool Tools', and I monitored the IO activity bfore, and it show pretty high utilization all the time, even with the screen off. With Novalauncher, its hitting rock bottom(low), even while using it..
Its soo good now, to give you an idea - I charged my phone last night(around 9pm), and restarted it and unplugged the charger. I ran it on full power(power save OFF), over night, with data on, and it only chewed 15%. MASSIVE difference. I'm at 60% now, and I've been running Pandora for at least 3 hours now, and using some other apps as well. Its been 14 hours or so already.

Even I faced fast battery drain with Touchwiz launcher.
Now running custom ROM and seeing that CPU usage is lesser and battery stays longer.
However, nothing can beat Kitkat's battery usage. Lollipop, according to me, is a battery killer wrapped in material design for disguise.

Xperia z1 battery drain issue or problem
I FOUND THE MAIN CULPRIT FOR BATTETY DRAIN AFTER 5.1.1 LOLLIPOP UPDATE. Its the overheat control app. As you all may know that after first update from jellybean 4.2 to kitkat 4.4, the phone tends to get overheated while multitasking. Thus overheat control app eats up the battery and drain it when the phone starts getting hot.
I REQUEST ALL THE DEVELOPERS TO CHECK IT AND PROVE IF I M WRONG.
I m sure that Google will find the answer to the battery drain issue fix in overheat control app.

[Q] Mobile Network Signal (Cell Standby) DRAIN

Hello guys I'm a newbie here so please do explain to me some of the stuff if you need to
so recently (about 2 weeks ago) I used this guide to root my Incredible S and did everything except the Blackrose part
and since then
I've noticed that my phone has drained its battery a lot quicker than usual
I lost 11% of battery when I woke up, fully charging it the night before
I usually do not use it much, only a call every 2 days or so, and I do not have internet connection
so I cannot understand how I have to charge it every day now, when it used to last 4 days (on Sense)
here's a pic from betterybatterystats
thanks everyone
------- 4/10 edit
ok
back to stock rom
it has the SAME problem
"No data connection" and "No or Unknown Signal" on Betterbatterystats
with steep drops in battery whenever there is "Mobile network signal"
and next to no drop whatsoever when there isn't
PLEASE HELP ><
new attachments down there with stock rom
tell me if you need a translation
THANKS

I know and I've tried to look around for answers for quite a few days
but for most people
it's either the same as Sense or something else (too many apps, not charging fully...)
and for those with similar conditions
I can't find solutions for
and the problem got worse today
in the 7 hours I slept yesterday
the battery drained from more than 50% to nothing
so the alarm didn't ring because it shut itself off

The standard charging time isnt what it says on the box or anything. It should be roughly 6 hours from 0% to 100% and thats providing you plug it into an AC outlet. I would suggest trying an app called Greenify. It hibernates certain apps/ services that may not be in use thus saving battery. I would also regularly check the Running Apps in settings and clear out anything unecessary.

I don't have a charging problem
it's a drainage problem
and about Greenify
I already installed that when I looked over the battery saving guide (which didn't help)
I literally have 5 apps in the Running Apps section
the part I don't get is
why does Cyanogenmod 10.1 use battery so much quicker than Sense
when I have 1/4 the apps I originally did?
it's the "No Data Connection" and "No or Unknown Signal" part really bothers me.
oh and thanks for the time btw

Hmm then this battery drainage is strange. Try making a full backup in recovery. Then clean flash the ROM again. If the problem still persists, then I have absolutely no idea whats wrong lol

Actually
I tried that...
on Sunday afternoon I reflashed it
my exact steps:
1. ClockworkMod backup
2. Install from zip
3. Advanced restore - data (I restored the whole thing too once before that, but thought that just restoring the data might actually change something)
and that's when it went from 50% to 0 overnight
not looking too good -.-

Well then sit tight. Szezso is gonna release a CM10.1 for us as soon as he gets his new USB port.
oh well then
thanks for the help anyways
I'll just keep waiting
might want to go back to Sense though...
and more pics from BetterBatteryStats
just in case anyone knows what they mean
Drained 56% of my battery while I was asleep yesterday (for about 7 hours)
only 6% in the time I was at school, because of Airplane mode (I even listened to music and played a little Doodle Jump)
but I obviously want a phone to CALL PEOPLE
so I'm reverting to stock Rom
OK
so that didn't work out
I edited the main article
hope someone can help!!
meanwhile I'll look for more articles online since I know it's not (really) CM's problem anymore
thanks
Ensure to charge your mobile fully and after a NORMAL usage (calls, WiFi, Mobile Data on).
Just share the dump file from betterbatterystats. It would help to analyse better.
Edit:
Could notice you are using some widgets in the home screen. Usually widgets with high refresh rate drains your battery.
2. Facebook app is causing the partial wakelock. Even when the screen is off, the app is using your CPU. Try to disable autosync if it's enabled
3. Audio_out3 wakelock is due to phone vibrator is enabled. May be during call or keyboard haptic feature.
Power manager service wakelock is common and its in good level.
Try to check your CPU freq n governor.
And adjust accordingly. One more, Li-on battery should not be charged fully. Just charge till 85-90%. The battery will drain little lower compared to fully charged device. And you need to charge your device only when battery is low. Frequent charging n discharging will affect the battery life. Consistent Charge and discharge cycle is encouraged.
Try to share your fresh dump here or in batter battery status thread. There are many folks to help you with.

Thanks for the detailed reply sir
My widgets (aka weather & tasks) only refresh manually, and nothing is on Autosync (in the auto sync menu, anyways)
originally had only vibration for calls, turned that off too now
and what is "CPU freq n governor"?
didn't know that about the batteries
I'll do that next time
and I just reinstalled betterbatterystats, so I'll post the Dump File after a few hours

Sure, post your dump with normal usage.

[Q] Nexus 6 Overheating issue

My new Nexus 6, is now too hot to start, when booting up it turns off before it can ask for the pattern to decrypt the phone. It loads up fine in Fastboot and Recovery, but the CPU temperature in recovery is displayed ranging between 67-70 degrees Celsius. The phone is a month and a half old.
It was performing well without a glitch (apart from the random reboots and 'not charging' at times when plugged in).
Over the last week it started charging really slowly, showing 9 hours to a full charge when the battery was 15%., and after being on charge for that amount of time, the battery topped charging at 65% each time. I suspected that the Turbo Charger/Cable were faulty but other chargers (turbo/normal) and cables showed the same results. The displayed battery health was shown as good. I figured out that the phone could charge up from )% to full in 1.5 - 2 hrs approximately on any of those chargers and cables including the original ones when in Fastboot or Recovery mode. I started charging my phone in recovery mode. The CPU temperature used to be around 65 C. I had done a complete factory reset/data wipe/cache wipe to try and fix the problem.
The phone is rooted, running stock 5.1 rom, latest official TWRP recovery although no apps that use root.
Since day before yesterday the phone started randomly shutting down every 15 - 60 min, overheating I suspect. The battery health was displayed as 'overheat' and he phone completely refused to charge when powered on, and now shuts down when powering on before it can ask for the decryption pattern, though it runs fine in Fastboot/TWRP Recovery. CPU Temp shows as 70C in Recovery.
Please help.

Probably a hardware issue, it can happen
Probably not a good idea to charge in recovery as all cores are always maxed out, causing it to be hot anyway.
Reflash the stock kernel using the flashify app from app store. This will rule out software issues
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cgollner.flashify
After looking at thread like these , i am reluctant to use the Quick Charger that came with the phone. I normally charge the phone with USB (PS4) or a normal Samsung Charger
Where people go wrong is using the phone while fast charging. Playing a graphics intensive game or streaming video while fast charging isn't typically good for battery temps
No amount of re-flashing will fix the problem. The Nexus 6 has a known overheating problem. I am using a workaround and so far have not had a single incident. I was getting two or three reboots a day before this. Set the screen resolution to 1080p. Instructions here:
http://nexus5.wonderhowto.com/how-t...xus-6-by-lowering-display-resolution-0159881/
This also works with rooted Marshmallow with Elemental kernel. You will not notice a difference - other than the reboots stopping and your battery lasting longer.

not true. first off, describe "overheating".
i run my cpu set to 3033mhz high and low. no matter what i do, i can not get it to "overheat". when the n6 overheats, it reaches 100C, at which it will either power off or reboot at that point. thus happens to let the cpu cool off.
remember, you are running a quad core cpu, at 2649mhz by default. now i ask again, describe "overheating".
oh, and one more. it has been proven already that lowering your resolution does not save battery. you arent disabling pixels, that where the same amount of the power is lost, no matter what you change your resolution.
anything else? :silly:

It solved the problem for me. That is a fact. Others have also posted that it has solved the problem for them. When playing certain graphic-intensive games, the battery would drain quickly and the phone would overheat and reboot. It is of course true that the screen pixels are still lit, however, the system doesn't have to keep track of all that extra data and the app has less work to do, thus it really does save battery and prevent overheating. It's the same as speeding up your fps in a PC game by lowering your game resolution, even though you're still using the same monitor.

i give you a few points with the gpu, but the amount saved would be extremely minimal. unless thats all you do, play games all day. then you might see an extra 5%, maybe.
I have huge heating issues when bulk-gaming. I even tried capping the GPU at 300 MHz. It's fine just gaming but gaming and charging is a no no for me. It *used* to work fine, but now it just throttles, even though it is only running at maybe 60 Degrees C. (I set my thermal throttle at 75). It's not really so much of an overheating issue as it is a throttling issue. Throttling on this device is poor and hard to work around.

i give you a few points with the gpu, but the amount saved would be extremely minimal. unless thats all you do, play games all day. then you might see an extra 5%, maybe.

My results are specific to certain high-battery-drain games. I am seeing my battery usage HALVED while playing certain games after making this change. These games tend to have a lot of animation. General use or "normal" (not unusually high) battery drain games are likely closer to your 5%.
Likewise, I noticed these games use a lot less battery on my older phones (with lower resolution screens).
If a phone is overheating during "normal" (not high drain) situations, then lowering the resolution may not be effective.
my phone only heats up when it is charging goes up to 45c

It charges very slow.. I used to charge using my laptop USB.. I kept around 2 hours and charge increased only around 20%.. It was fast in Kitkat.
Oh. Im glad im not the only one facing this. Any solution or we may have to wait for a bugfix?

I tried with Both USA and TW Firmware.. Even tried after full reset.. Still same issue.. I think we have to wait for bug fix or any work around solution ..
I am using the US version, not rooted everything stock. When I installed I faced very heavy drain, even with a charger the battery was going down. After a few reboots everything is back to normal. Battery life is nearly identical to kitkat.
Attaching the screenshots, I am getting more than 4 hours SOT easily with wifi on all the time.

Pretty Impressive Battery life on LP
Battery problem on C5502 (stock 5.0.2 Customized TW fw)
Hey guys,
I think I might have a problem here, I did OTA update over 10.5.1.A.0.283, got 10.6.A.0.454. Everything seems to be working fine, the system is quite smooth, yet battery life is worse than it was!
Cell standby and the OS seem to be consuming way to much battery, my reception isn't perfect, yet I checked in Cell standby and signal loss is at 0%.
I do have STAMINA on, yet according to CPU Spy the phone never goes into Deep Sleep. Isn't that suspicious?
You'll find a few screenshots attached to this post to give you an idea what I'm talking about. I'll try to flash the full rom today and see if it helps, while I'm typing this message FlashTool is creating an FTF file so that I can flash it later. I'll keep you posted.
Also, if anybody needs the FTF file, here's the torrent file link:

I have similar problem. For me the biggest consumption comes from google play service and android system. Really annoying...

From my point of view, it totally depends whether you did an OTA update or flash the new ROM. In my case, I have the Deep Sleep state active for a lot of time, and here's the screenshot:
Did you make a factory reset before/after flashing? Most time this helps.
Think the scan location when wifi is off option (in wifi setting) has effect on the google play service.
Also I am testing what exactly that stamina clock option within stamnia setting does. It seems it affects the battery in a not necessarily good way.
This is annoying. Sony includes all these features that are basically rubbish...

Hi,
I installed lollipop onto my ZR via the PC Companion a week ago, and I used a clean install (repair). My battery life is very bad compared to kitkat. I don't use my phone often, mostly it is in standby mode with mobile data enabled and stamina mode enabled (I added a few applications to stamina mode white list: gmail, facebook messanger, etc.). With kit-kat I had to charge my phone every 3 day, but now I have to charge it every day!!! this is 3 times worse than kitkat. If I check under power management - battery usage, I see a few apps have several hours of 'mobile radio active' (mostly gmail, chrome).
I have searched for this on internet, it looks like it is an lollipop related issue and not a sony related issue. Lollipop has this issue since 6 months now , and they didn't do anything to fix this (there are tons of forums posts about this on reddit, and on other places). I have the feeling Android is getting worse in every new version, and Google hire the most ****tiest developers of all time. They don't even answer to the thousands of user complaints of this issue. I will never touch an android phone in the future.

Disable the stamina mode actually yields better battery life.

Just got my zr update to LP 2 day ago. For now seem like the battery life worse. Need to factory reset after this hopefully that help .
Did India LP update OTA two days back and was surprised see kit ain't charging fast and also discharging quickly. And the main battery consumption was by Album photo analyser services. .. have disabled it and seen significant difference. .

Note 4 running hot, and high battery drain

Hey everyone,
My note 4 on 5.0.1 running any rom (stock, poprocks, TekHD) runs super hot. The area on the screen that is right below the camera is unpleasant to touch. When running a cpu temperature monitor I seem to identify around 60c and when Web browsing and scrolling though pages it'll go up to 70c. This also seems to be killing my battery life. Over 10 hours I'll be lucky to get 2 hours sot.
I've gotten wld and bbs and don't see any crazy wake locks that aren't supposed to be there. Largest one is my Google play music which I do use. 2nd up is Bluetooth, I'm guessing because of my android wear device. I've also done clean installs where I do a correct wipe then don't install any apps. Still horrible battery life, still lots of heat.
From reading about it sounds like the heat issue could be a bad device and I should get it replaced? Should I try picking up a new battery?
Over the course of writing this post, about 4 minutes I've gone from 17% to 10%.
Reinstall rom with factory kernel and install kernel adiutor apk for cpu control from google play. Im using rapture 3.0 without issues and battery pretty good and temp is normal.

Same problem here SM-N910G on 5.1.1 stock ROM. Installed a new genuine Samsung battery, NC. I hit about 60°C when at idle, 65°C when browsing. I wiped davlik cache and cache on teamwin, which seems to have helped a little. Battery is lucky to last 4-5 hours tops.
Did you find a solution? I thought it might have been from using Blitzwolf and Xaomi chargers, but it's the CPU getting hot, battery stays at 40°C
Are you using a custom kernel? I had an issue with a bad kernel setup and it restored my settings automatically which was the cause of my battery drain.

Note 5 bad battery life gsam?

Hey guys , i am using this phone for the last one week and so far i am not impressed with its battery life.its almost similar to my xperia z1.
I lost over 24% battery in the past 2 hours just listening to music and surfing a bit.
Please have a look at my gsam screenshot and tell me if something is wrong.
Any help will be really appreciated.
Thank you.
Friend, take sshot from you apps usage and screen. Add sshot from stock battery manager too.
Thanks for your interest in my post.
I have attached the necessary screenshots.
I was having 3-3.5 hours of sot with my 2 years old xperia z1 and almost same with my note5 .
Not happy at all.
Today i left my phone at 41% went to lunch and returned after 90 mins and found battery left is 30% doing absolutely nothing.
Just taking the sshots and posting it here used 4% battery!!!!
Is something wrong?
11pm to 7pm off charge....looks fine to me!
I come off charge at 6am and it generally lasts to 8/9pm without a mid day charge.
Your screen is a big hog. Is brightness set too high constantly?
I don't play games but you clearly do - clash of clans....again another drain.
Big screen = big battery usage!
I've resorted to plugging mine in while I'm sat at my desk for a few mins here and there.
MM is poor though. The deep sleep / doze seems to work randomly.

Yeah i get your point
Brightness is about40% and i do play coc frequently
But my concern is suddenbattery drain. 11 % drain during lunch doing nothing and now 3% drain just opening xda and replying to your comment
Is that normal?
Also screen awake is almost 2 hours doesnt seem like doze is working
Check any apps you've recently installed....or start in safe mode and see if the problem continues.
Clear cache....
I've set up a greenify process - when I tap the home key on the home screen it puts it into deep sleep. I don't think MM doze works very reliably. Also my screen is at about 20%. Can easily whack it up when you go outside temporarily.

I have used 2 full days with just whatsapp and stock apps installed still the problem persists.
Please look at the sshot ,2 hr 14 min sot is absolutely ridiculous
Try the following:
- Uninstall Facebook
- Amplify
- Greenify
Has helped my Note-5 battery life greatly.

An App to control how often your wakelock & alarms fire off - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ryansteckler.nlpunbounce
Also, worthwhile alternative = Servicely (need to be rooted) - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.servicely
Try de-bloat script too by Battlehero.
Its funny how you and i used to own a z1 lol what a coincident. Anyways i think i commented about your battery life before. Regarding to the amplify im mot sure if op has root. I suggest you not to root if you want to exchange it saying its a defective battery.if not then go for it root it and see if it will change your battery stats. Pretty normal things to do is factory reset , boot in safe mode, maybe reflash firmware through odin and check any mysterious apps draining battery. Also maybe try greenify non root way for afressive doze. It shortens the time needed before going into doze mode. Im currently testing it right now.
