All,
Am I the only one receiving terrible Internet speeds on speed tests? It seems that my speed is flying on LTE right now but for some reason, speed tests currently have me at (at most) 1 MB/sec download but 10 MB/sec uploads (I don't even know how that happens...).
Are the speed tests just buggy?

i dont own a Z1 (yet) but i know that sony devices are weird when it comes to wifi and data
if your speed testing using an app and the results differ from another app or even. website
(note - only large differences count), then its the app being buggy
if its on all apps but not the site then its your phone (no way to fix besides turning off stamina mode, (weirdly fixes it because i have had this issue on a range of devices from sony ive used)
or even if your downloading a file and its showing 5mb/s yet the apps say 1 then it could be the apps design not agreeing with sonys attempt at a power saving design

I've been really happy with the data speeds on the Z1, and that's coming from a Note 2

I've tried the Charge and Thunderbolt along with the Revo, and for some reason the 4g on the Revo is less that half the speed of the other devices using the Speedtest app. Someone on another forum commented about this as well. Do you folks think this is a radio issue that can be fixed? Otherwise, I'll be taking the Revo back.
Thanks!
What is your dl speed because in all honesty any dl above 3 MB/sec is overkill. Here in SE TX mine avgs. 8 down/5 up. Try another server it does vary greatly. Remember it is a burst speed and is dependant on how many users are on a tower plus other factors beyond your control. A true OC-3 speed of 20 down /20 up runs about $20,000 a month for a business.
I'm always between 8 - 11 down and 4 - 6 up out here in Charleston, SC

Verizon probably has run their own fiber to their towers... and they are probably running OC-12 or 24 lines.
Hehehe... had to block the isp, as we are our own... That is shared with 1500 other users...

4G LTE in Milwaukee is VERY fast.
Near the airport, strong constant 20-30mbps and 4-9mbps up.
I have yet to venture to Madison yet or Wisconsin Dells, as those are the other two major city's in WI to have LTE setup.
on a side note, I will say with my first LG which was borked and stuck with the stock shipping software my downloads were some what slower then my new one with the current stock software. 15mbps max on the old software and 30mbps with the new software.
Hello, I'm renting out two houses that're across the street from each other. I want to be able to offer wifi included with each house. I would like to do this with the same internet, and just use a long range router. Can anyone suggest a good router I can buy to provide wifi for two houses across the street from each other? (I plan on getting Time Warner by the way)
also I heard ac routers are longer range, is that true?
thanks!

Honestly, you ought to know by now that you'd get a response like this. XDA is a developers forum, not a bloody helpdesk in a shop.
Stick a range extender near the windows in both buildings and voila, WiFi.

Hi! May be you should make a transparent radio bridge with two devices such like this: http://goo.gl/YsnYQ?
We successfully used them for more than 10km of direct vision distance. In real situation bridge speed is around 50-70 Mbits. These devices are very easy configurable.

I was a customer of Sprint for about two year and very much accustomed to not having to worry about my data usage. I have since then made the switch to AT&T will its 4GB mobile share plan( 2 lines ). Below were my monthly 3G and 4G data usages
FEB .91GB
JAN 1.65GB
DEC 1.61GB
NOV 2.65GB
OCT 2.07GB
SEPT 1.53GB
AUG 1.45GB
Avg 1.69
Should i be concerned that I have already used 451MB (AT&T site) of data since February 24?

Even if you wind up going over your data you can call AT&T and ask them to backdate you more data.
If you got your phones before Feb 2, switch to the 10gb value share plan and save $20 and never have to worry about data.

The usage shown in the original post is entirely consistent with your historical usage!
You'd been doing around 1.69gb/month, ie, ~56mb/day.
In 8 days, you reported 570mb, ie, ~70mb/day.
In november, with 2.4mb over the month, you averaged 80mb!
If you neglect the 120mb of play downloads (from installing apps on the new phone, I assume), you're down at 56mb/day - exactly your historical average!
Not as low as dec/jan with average ~51mb/day, but even at your current rate, you're only headed for 2.1gb for the month.
Hey guys,
Haven't seen this wakelock issue pop up on the Nexus 6 yet, I know it was something that was an issue for the Nexus 4 and older version of the OS a while back
Anyways I've just updated to 5.1 and it's working surprisingly well, aside from having to downgrade the radio to receive calls.
The problem I'm noticing all of a sudden is the msm_hsic_host and PowerManagerService.Display, the former being the worse of the two.
In the screenshot you'll see that my phone is awake 61% of the time over 22 hours of testing, almost 6 of those hours being msm_hsic_host, and 4 being the PowerManagerService.
I looked a bit in to the msm one and it seems to come up when the phone is bouncing between 3G/LTE signals and people suggest putting the phone on wifi, but my phone has full-barred LTE almost always and when I'm home I'm on wifi, so this wasn't able to fix my issue.
Is there a way to see more detail what is causing this process to keep the phone awake? Or has anyone seen this and found a solution?

Host is usually related to poor signal. Display is just that, your screen is on.

Yeah for the host I had read it's related to a poor signal, but I don't have a poor signal at all. When I'm at work it's full LTE as you can see in the screenshot above.
At home I'm on Wifi, and even if I'm not on Wifi it's also a full signal.

Did you also get this figured out? Because I am having this wakelock as well on Franco Kernel on my Nexus 6.

Use DL Booster and you can see speeds like 75+ Mbps! Depends on Wifi+LTE speed though.
are you in a wideband area or is this only with the download booster (wifi+lte)
I was actually able to hit 100mbps on the T mobile network no download booster on speedtest. Ya i know doesnt mean much without a picture but I'm at work. Either way I was amazed

Jeeze, the most I have ever gotten on Tmo in my entire life is like 30mbs down, lol.. is that a constant speed?
100mbps? I'd have to see it to believe it. I have gotten over 50 before, but nothing close to a 100. I have gotten over 75 with Verizon. Honestly, it's fast but not like a huge difference from 30 imho.

Here you go I was blown away. My T-Mobile service has been better where I live than my Verizon service stronger signal and faster data.
I couldn't figure out how to upload a picture so here's a link from my result that I shared to Ookla. In that area it was pretty constant between 80-100mbps. At home I only get 10, but that's about as low as it gets in my area.
