What are those of you with a Rogers Moto X doing given they still haven't released KitKat?
I know their forum has a post indicating it's "coming soon", but attempts to get more information in the Moto X section just result in nonsense responses from someone who doesn't even own a Moto X.
My concern with flashing the developer edition ROM is the loss of warranty and lack of Band 7 LTE support. However, I'd be tempted if the latter is not an issue.
I'm not with Rogers but I am using Rogers Moto X's. I have unlocked the bootloaders on all of my phones and flashed the 4.4 dev edition/retail/tmobile firmware and then flashed the kitkat 4.4 Brazil modem file(this will give you the newest modem file and enable band 7 LTE). Performance is excellent, if you don't mind the warranty issue then I'd highly recommend it.

Hmm, interesting. Wouldn't flashing the Brazil modem affect future DE OTA updates?
[edit] Ugh, it seems that the Brazilian model doesn't support LTE Band 1 (which Rogers uses):

Rogers uses LTE bands 4 and 7 which will work prefect with the Brazil modem.
Looks like the wait will soon be over:

Hello all,
I am about to take the plug in the Moto X world and have a couple questions. I live in the Great White North (i.e. Canada) so the only available version I can easily get my hands on is the Rogers version. My question is will I be able to use it on Rogers if I flash the Developer edition ROM. Will the developer edition ROM even work on a Rogers Moto X?
Thanks and much appreciated!
Yes, it will work fine as long as you have unlocked the bootloader. You will lose band 7 LTE (2600 Mhz) if you use the full developer edition firmware however you can flash the developer edition firmware and then flash just the modem from the Brazil 4.4 release and it will be restored. This is what I have been running for a while now on two Rogers XT1058s and it is working extremely well. Mine are sim unlocked and running on Koodo.
Thanks for the info! Sorry to ask such a noob question but where can I download the Dev edition firmware? I can't seem to find it. Also can you let me know where I can get the Brazil modem?
Much appreciated!!

Just curious, why would you need the dev edition ROM on the Rogers X? It has an unlockable bootloader, is extremely easy to root, and you can remove any extra apps Rogers puts on it? What's the advantage to using the dev edition ROM?

Well you may have to wait for the T-Mobile sbf firmware to be available, modem for German and uk firmware don't work on some carriers. Case of impatience as T-Mobile is firing out the ota now
All you can try is flash this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2638090
and hopefully it works

[I have no idea how OTAs are staged, so I hope this isn't the worst question ever asked in these forums]
I have a Moto X GSM (xt1053) that I got through Motorola using motomaker. I'm on the AT&T network, and things are working fine.
Since AT&T Moto Xs are xt1058, will my phone get the 4.4.4 OTA correctly?
Thanks

Yes, you will receive the OTA just fine. The network that you are using won't affect it at all.

That being said, they haven't begun the rollout of 4.4.4 on the XT1053. The latest available for it is 4.4.3.

Anyone know why the XT1053 is the last X variant to get 4.4.4?

Republic Wireless is still on 4.4.2, so you're not the last....
Anyways, the only known difference between 4.4.3 and 4.4.4 is the ssl and a couple other patches. Extremely minimal difference. There most lilkely wouldn't have been a 4.4.4 if the ssl bug wasn't discovered - we all would have likely went straight to L (eventually).
From what I have read the system version in tmobile 4.4.3 is the same as the other 4.4.4 releases. So we don't need the 4.4.4 update since we are already patched.

I thought I had posted this earlier sorry if it is redundent

It looks like we are missing the OpenSSL patch, but have everything else. That said isn't the OpenSSL the most important portion of the patch?
Is it just me or has Moto never rolled out 4.4.4 to the unlocked GSM editions? My mom bought an unlocked phone straight from Motorola and yet she's still on 4.4.3. We're using the phone on T-Mobile if that makes a difference.

It's not just you. T mobile version got 4.4.3. A bug was found after they started rolling it out, so they fixed it for the other models (that's the main difference between 4.4.3 and 4.4.4). Most of the other features/upgrades were included in 4.4.3, so they didn't make updating the t-mobile edition a priority. It'll probably get it after they finish all of the others are done unless android L is ready to go by then, in which case, it'll probably just get that.

Moto Firmwares
Oops, looks like the site is down.
I got 4.4.4 just a week ago on Dev Edition
I got 4.4.4 just a week ago on Dev Edition, although its not TMobile,
So might be possible, yours on the way.:good:
4.4.4 for t-mobile version (any XT1053 model) was delivered a couple of weeks ago. Go to settings/about phone/system updates and you should update if you have a factory phone - if you have unlocked or rooted, go back to factory spec before trying to update.
Hello all,
I flashed a T-mobile 4.4.4 ROM onto my AT&T 4.4.4 Moto X today to test it. I've since reverted back to my AT&T 4.4.4.
My question to you...is there any real benefit over the T-mobile ROM, other than little to no bloatware?
Pros, or Cons?
I found that my 4g LTE was working, and WiFi too. Everything seemed to work. IDK about Wi-Fi calling?
Thanks
Where did you find 4.4.4 for T-Mobile? I thought the latest was 4.4.3.
I flashed my brother's nandroid, and did a factory reset on it afterwards. It worked fine, but I want to know if there is any real benefit. :good:
Thanks
Was this to one with a locked bootloader? I'm assuming not.
I unlocked my bootloader on my XT1058...Just wanted to know if there were pros, or cons to using a T-mobile ROM on my AT&T X.
Would WiFi calling work? I'm assuming not, as it's based on carriers network, but I thought I'd ask.
Thanks!
