Hi..
Im running the nightly CyanogenMod7, but Im really missing some apps..
Can someone make me a update file, or guide me to a "how to guide" so I can make my own update file..
I dont know if the apps are running on Gingerbread, but here is the apps Im misseng..
The FM radio. (FmRadio.apk)
The LG keyboard (HIME.apk)
LG Memo widget (LGMemo.apk)
DLNA sharing (SmartShare.apk)
LG social apps and widgets (SNS.apk)
And maybe add the Fonts changer..
Thanks in advance.
i can provide you update.zip with :
FM Radio, LG Memo, Smartshare
you can open zip file and put other apps in folder "app" ;
they will be written to system/app ; to remove them you need root explorer or adb ...
my_updates
PS : but i´m also not sure if they are working on CM, i use fr16 and took them out of my firmware ...
Thanks.. I will look into it..
Ok.. Thay are all a no go.. Dont work on CM7..
So back to fr1x
i am currently using an odexex rom, i deodexed the mms.apk + mms.odex to make some changes, after deodexing iam left with mms.apk..i have made the changes to the apk now how can i create mms.odex from this apk?..i have tried just using the apk but messaging force closes, i also know that my changes are fine because if i just try to use the unedited apk it also force closes..any help
well got the problem fixed, tried the latest apktool and it works, previously was using apk manager 4.9, maybe it cannot handle gingerbread apk's properly
I really used the stock Voice Dialer a lot which has been absent from GV 2.0 and Broken Out. I found the VoiceDialer.apk and VoiceDialer.odex from the RevoZV7GBStock.zip and put them in my /system/app, but it doesn't seem to have done any good... Does anyone know how I can install it? Do I need the .apk/.odex from V8 (I'm on Broken Out)?

Yes! I was able to find the deodexed VoiceDialer.apk in the GingerVolt1.3.zip, copied it to the /system/app, rebooted and it works!!!!! Thank you, MT, without even trying!
Now I'd like to figure out how to deodex some for myself... I'd really like the stock calendar widget.
And just to post some more to myself... The calendar widget is in the stock app installer by MT if anyone is interested. Got what I need, now I need to back it all up...
Hello all,
Sort of unusual question. I am using Ficeto's contacts.apk (overwritten stock in /system/app) along with the Kingdroid 7.1 but every time I try to add a new contact it crashes. Otherwise everything works great.
I know there could be framework incompatibilities (since Ficeto's themed apks do use some framework mods) but I was wondering if you guys had any other advice (eg clearing data for something besides contacts.apk, etc).
I've tried out various permissions and it hasn't yielded a result (along with the rx-r-r which it should be)

I do not recommend removal od LGlauncher. Explanation is simple: if in any case you would like to reset your phone, you will step into **** as there will be no launcher to start with.
No, you can make it system's application and it wont be any problem.

Of course. One can put any app in system folder with propper permissions but it is another process then just stupidly ripping system files according to list at the beginning.

This (what i wrote) means delete which you want. Listed apps can be deleted without any problems. I didnt say you must delete everything what i write. i only said you can delete them. You can choose one of them, two of them, ten of them or none of them
And we have got a topic for gb. This topic for ics did you wrote same things to gb topic?

what is the purpose of removing these apps?
will it make the battery better and the os more fluid?
i dont want any app on my rom which i dont use.
some of them are running background.
they are using ram.
i think maybe a little but they drains battery too.
and i am sure that, they are using internal storage...
The first post is very informative, and could give you some hints on what is safe to remove, if all the options are explained properly.
You don't need to butcher your phone and delete all apps, that's stupid, and I always go trough this process with every rom, and I needed a reflash or a restore with Titanium on numerous occasions, so take care with uninstalling system apps!
Nice work!
P.S.: Have you noticed that ICS rom has a very small number of processes/system apk's compared to GB? It's a hell of a lot faster and easier to trim the fat off these roms!
