No offense but perhaps u might wanted to take note about ur friend's firmware version before asking question. I think there are already quite numbers of thread had been opened regarding rooting. Why don't u give a try to search for them first?

I don't have an TX myself, but if its roms and firmwares are not compatible with T or V, it deserves its own place.

search in the all in one thread, in the Q&A section. Follow the instructions to downgrade to .305, root, install cmw for locked bootloaders, upgrade back to .212 with keeping root.

Can any one tell me how i can root my z1 without unlocking boot-loader on any version.
Is there any version of FW for z1 that can be rooted directly.
If so which one and how?
Thanx and regards...
Just search please, the link in my signature is a good place to start

No, you dont need root or unlock bootloader.
I did that 3 days ago, my xz runs better now, you need flashtool, drivers and the rom you want to flash

You don't say which firmware version you're running. It's best to provide details when asking for help.
If you're running anything up to and including 4.4.2 (10.5.A.0.230), then just use towelroot.
If you're on 4.4.4 (10.5.1.A.0.283 or 10.5.1.A.0.292) then it's slightly more complicated. Follow my guide here.
