[Q] straight talk throttle - Motorola Atrix HD

I was wondering if their was something that I could do or change to bypass the throttling? I'm sure their has to be a setting somewhere that can bypass it, can someone help me?

you can remove the proxy settings. throttling is not controlled by straight talk. only real way around a throttle flag is renewing the month.

Without flashing the radio it isn't likely for a Verizon phone to run a sprint/boost signal

[Q] Sprint Hotspot Not Working after both settings.db and net.tethering fixes

I have a Sprint Nexus 6 (bought through Sprint), 32GB blue version. It is running stock 5.0.1 (LRX22C) that is rooted and unlocked. I was successfully able to get the line added to settings.db and add the net.tethering... line in (http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/help/sprint-nexus-6-wifi-tethering-root-t2949024). My hotspot even turns on, and I can get other devices to connect to my phone. However, I cannot get internet access on the devices. I get a DNS error. I manually set the DNS servers used to Google's servers, and it did not fix it.
I had no issues on my GS5 with DNS, and I am getting very frustrated with this phone and hotspot. Can anyone help me get it going?

You have to use sqlite and add something else in order for it to work
Follow this thread for instructions, I just don't feel like posting them

I did that. That's the settings.db change, as indicated in the thread I linked to. Again. My hotspot turns on, but I get no internet on the device I connect to the phone.

Okay, I'm trying to look through sqlite and find the file I edited that turned it on, it's really been a while since I first did this so I honestly don't remember, but I'll report back

Okay. You're saying there is an additional change above the settings.db you made?

Here's the link to all the info, don't worry about the t-mobile instructions, and I also found the file that I edited, it's under setting storage in sqlite

Once you do all that, you should be okay, let me know if you have any other issues and I'll try to help

Unlimited Tethering help

On the SM-N910T3... If I manage to get my phone to skip the Tethering provision check, would I get Unlimited Tethering? If so, how can I do that?
If not, can anyone point me in the right direction to get Unlimited Tethering?

one way that i know off is getting Wifi Tether Router, i haven't use it for about 2 or 3 months but when i was using it, work like a charm .
I once saw Legere's comment about T-Mobile is cracking down hardcore tethering users with "non-usual" ways. Not sure what the penalties are but i would be really carefull if I were you.
1. Use a VPN on the tethered device.
2. Use a tethering app, like WiFi Tether Router.
3. Never ever use the built in tethering method if you're on a stock or stock-based ROM.
4. Simple.
Using a VPN hides your data packets and prevents T-Mobile from inspecting your data packets to find out where the data is coming from. It is none of their business in the first place. I suggest doing this no matter what if you care about privacy.
What VPN service do you recommend and how do I go about setting it up.

I don't recommend one. Google it to find a list. Decide which you prefer. Most VPNs will provide an app or instructions on how to set up in Android.

Unlocked phone on Verizon network (hotspot)

Can anyone using an unlocked note 8 let me know if you can still use the hotspot feature?
Also curious if you have an unlocked S8 or S7 , does the hotspot work?

Yes I read that people with the unlocked s8 can use the hotspot without Verizon getting in the way. So the unlocked Note8 should be the same. The only trade-off is you do not get Wi-Fi calling or HD calling because the firmware does not support it. I don't use those features so it doesn't bother me. You can flash the Verzion firmware and get those features but you lose the hotspot. Idk if you can go back to carrier unlocked firmware so I'm not messing with it.

Yea I dont use wifi calling, but love my hotspot, so tradeoff works for me, ty
Niceee, no problem gingi ! That's the main reason I wanted root in the past. I wish I knew about the unlocked phone loophole sooner lol..

There's a few scripts that you can run and it gives you HD calling.

I had no idea this was possible. I thought everyone using Nougat was locked out of hotspot without root regardless of the phone being unlocked. If that's the case, I'd return the Note I ordered from Verizon and just buy it from Bestbuy.

Thank you much!
I did my best for a mini tutorial. The app is called shortcut master
For users in the "New" Verizon Unlimited plan, would an unlocked phone bypass the 15GB limit on hotspot before they throttle you to 3G?
