Hi guys, my concern is I cannot control the music using my earphone. I already dloaded and turned on the music or Walkman option for Smart Key but I still couldn't. Every time I click the button of my earphone it's just launching the Smart Connect. Any idea how to resolve this?

So we are guessing that you are referring to the stock headphones? And what are you trying to control?

Yes the one that's included on the box. The play, pause, the double clicking for the next track and triple clicking for the previous track.
Update: It's a bug on FW .518 as per Sony Forum that's resolved on FW .534. Just gonna update my phone to 4.3 this weekend to fix this.

The stock Music player on the xoom has an interactive notification, as I am sure you all know, where you can control your music while its playing in the background with the little headphones icon at the bottom of the screen. Since the beginning of owning the xoom I have experianced this icon randomly disappearing from the notification bar and not coming back sometimes even after restarting the app.
Does anyone else get this? If so, anyone know a solution?
Ok I get it. Apparently its not a topic of interest. ...just kidding (well sort of)
But really can anyone at least say if they also get this problem from time to time? Iam just curious.

I experience this bug as well. In fact, I am listening to music right now and the notification controller is missing. I am on an Asus Transformer though..

all you have to do is go back into the music player then hit the home button and it should appear, annoying but it works
i get the complete opposite of this. my music icon (aka the headphones) will randomly appear when im not listening to music. it's only started since i flashed my canadian xoom with the US 3.1 firmware
ok so i got the note. how do i configure earphones..how do i rewind etc using the single button provided? i listen to music all day at work so this is important
You can try out PowerAmp. The single button can be configured to pause at one push, next track with 2 pushes and previous track with 3 pushes I believe.
I found you can only rewind or forward using the stock music player

Well, in about 4 seconds with a Google search I found this discussion. In which they're talking about an app called beyondpod, which is configurable and let's you set what you're trying to set.
Search...imagine that.

well i tried all the methods and apps mentioned there...none of them seem to work. anyone has a note and uses default player ? only action that seems to wirk is double click which goes to next track...tripple click either pauses or starts next track then pauses. single click does what it should, it pauses and resumes play. i love the stock player i do not like winamp or any other player..

Hopefully your boss is not reading this

I successfully use the buttons through poweramp, and find that I have to click the button more slowly than with previous phones. make sure they're very distinct separate clicks
Hi guys,
Do you have an idea how to skip tracks from headset controls?
I have the Klipsch s4a and the Klipsch app and set by default the app is supposed to skip tracks on double click, but instead the redial feature is called.
This worked fine with my Nexus but for some reason is not with the HTC one.
Any idea how to make it work?

This also happens to me with the official HTC headset. Strange.
I have a question. I keep reading about volume controls and such with the official HTC earphones, but I do not have those volume control buttons! I just have one button which I believe is for like answering/rejecting/ending phone calls. So do different earphones ship with different variants or something? I have an unbranded and unlocked international HTC One.
I have the stock OS 4.1.2
Refer to my HTC headset thread for some help. You either have to buy the official HTC headset (HTC RC E240) to be able to skip tracks and raise/lower volume (it's a 3 button headset) or use apps that control the headset (they need to contain the HTC Redial Fix as well). Another method is to use Poweramp, without any third party apps, but have google now disabled
I use the Klipsch app which supposed to control the Klipsch headsets. I have tried the power amp, the same thing none of them are working (Google now is off) in all cases double click does a redial instead of skip track.

Raise headset button priority in PowerAmp and it should work.
Nope, still the same.
I've noticed it does both things, initiate the redial first then it skips the track.
For some reason the priority is to do a redial first. Not sure where and how to disable that.
@Galactus can you please post the link to your topic?
Had anyone managed to solve this issue and enable skip tracks?

I was checking another forum and I stumbled upon a thread regarding the same issue. It seems like a dead end, unfortunately, because no one seemed to figure it out.

Don't have my phone right now but found headset control app I think it's called in another thread here and worked for me and I ended up buying it for 2.99. Allows you to assign multiple taps for different functions and works well with the stock earbuds.

If you can update this thread with the application's name when you get your phone, that would be great. Thanks.

And works best with power amp.
I've made some time to test more the Headset Button control app and for me this is not working properly (I'm using Klipsch s4a headsets), os 4.1.2 stock + root with the default Music app.
And I have some issues with the skip commands (double click and 3 clicks)* as they don't seem to work.
I have tried* all combinations of slow or very slow from advanced.
I've enabled the debug mode and it seems like the double clicks are not recognised.
The single click is recognized which pauses the song.
But I've noticed something,* the double click is working only if I perform a pause first (single click)* then the double click is recognized.
If I do not pause this first then the double click is not recognised.
Is there a fix or a workaround for this?
My issue is related to default HTC music app only.
Is working fine with other apps like Google music player.
Disable HTC ONE redial functionality

I was able to solve this with an Xposed mod. The HeadsetMod.apk in this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2423160 works (Tested on ARHD 13.3)
Since the last couple of days whenever my phone is in lockscreen and I control a music app (walkman, soundcloud), pausing or changing the song does change the song that is being played, but the display stays the same (it gets stuck on the current song). It happens both with headphones plugged in and without and deleting app data/cache doesn't help. Also, no 'smart key' installed. Help would greatly be appreciated!

I had faced this issue earlier in one of my devices. Its because I used to clean the apps by swiping them after long pressing the home key.
While playing music, if i swipe and clear all running apps(including the music app), the music player still works. But if I lock and try to control via lockscreen controls, it wont respond!
So thereafter I never used to swipe it out!
give a try!
Thanks for the reply! It did not really help. Also, not being able to kill applications would not really be a solution for me any other advice?

Edit: I found out that the controls and the display work correctly when the camera is running in the background. I have no idea why though..

Hi guys, I hope some can help me resolve my problem. My unit is C6903, Android 4.4.2 .757. Whenever I play a music the music widget on lockscreen is not appearing and also I cannot add additional lockscreen widgets. Again these happen when I am playing a song. Whenever I'm not, I can add widgets on lockscreen. Thiese only started again when I updated to .757 FW but on .168 it's working. Enable widget option is ticked, already tried clearing the cache of the Walkamn Music Widget and Lockscreen on the settings but to no avail. Any response guys would be very much appreciated.
Screenshot for your reference. Take not that the I'm playing a song (the Walkman icon on the notification area).

I tried the Walkman app and noticed a bug as well, the cover doesn't always change when I skip to the next song..
Looks like Walkman has some bugs with this firmware, but it's not a problem for me since I use poweramp, maybe you should give it a try, in my opinion it's much better than Walkman

Anyone found a solution for this? I have the same problem since the .757 update, and both Walkman and Google Play Music are affected. Considering to root my phone to fix the problem (hopefully NUT's rom have this sortet out).
Are you using SmartKey app? I remember when I was using it I had the same problems with lockscreen widget... it wasn't appearing and I could't swipe clock widget as well.
I do not use the Smart key app, but I have tried to install and uninstall it. Didn't do anything. I can swipe the lockscreen widget (had to enable it in settings after the last update), but still no music widget.
The problem is also present with Netflix...

Found the problem! I had an app similar to Smart key (Headset control center https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.shengande.degausslabs ).
It does the same thing as Smart key, and when I uninstalled it everything works fine!

And how you had this app installed on your phone? This is not stock app and is not the solution.
It solved my problem. This is not a stock app, but it seems apps with this functionality causes the same problem.
