Hi There,
I'm using the s3 mini gt-i8190N
I've been scouring the forums, flashing like crazy to try to get this fixed. My phone is stuck on a boot loop, recovery mode goes to a boot loop. I can however get into download mode.
I've tried:
Reflashing with the stock firmware
Reflashing PIT file
Reflashing PARAMS file
Reflashing Kernel
Does anyone have any ideas?

Hello,
I had this earlier on. I managed to successfully sort mine out using this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2159660
You need to get a stock image from sammobile. This didn't work for me, initially, but once i flashed it along with a pit file from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1953962&d=1368285117
that managed to stop the bootloop, and the phone booted fine. Not sure what the param.zip file does, when I flashed it, it didn't have much of an effect.

There's a problem that I've came on while downgrading to stock 2.3.3 from MIUI 1.11.11 2.3.7 with CWM. I've wiped partillion chache and dalvik chache, installed rom XWJVH (it went correctly) rebooted, it stuck on booting screen. Restarted into download mode tried to install another kernel (cf-root 3.2 because it worked in past) and got fail in Odin.
Is my phone fully bricked? 'Cuz I can't get into CWM anymore.
HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!
If u can get into download mode, you will be fine. Just flash a full stock rom with odin.
If u still have no joy, flash eclair jm9 (from samfirmware.com), it will resurrect most fxxk ups.

Ok, let's try but on other combinations Odin said connecting after starting a process (tried 1.3, 1.7, 1.8 versions to flash 2.3.3 and 2.3.5, none worked) but whar if it will not work? What next, because on recovery it gives "black screen of death" as said in this topic:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S_Series
But at least download mode works.
P.S. I get modem and code files in jm9 download, which to put in pda? csc?
Is odin detecting your phone, yellow light?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
yes it detected.
AND YES its going now, I've put pit file in and it is working now!!!!!!!
PASSED in odin, booting up........ boot logo......... please boot up!
something wrong, boot logo loop.
flashed cf-root 4.3 and I hope for the best.
P.S. nooooooooo, boot loop again
P.P.S. thank you anyway, at least boot loop is easier to work on.
Have you tried jm9 yet?

I am a little bit confused, and you too...
To bring back to life your phone you have flashed jm9, eclaire....ok.
But why have you flashed a CF-root 4.3?
It's for JVS gingerbread rom.
Edit: If your 3 keys combo still works, try to flash a stock 2.3.x
If the problems happen while using MIUI, better you select eclair rom first. Then you can upgrade to GB that have bootloader.
From MIUI directly to gingerbread will have fuzzy screen problem.
Hello everyone,
I've got an Australian vodafone GT-i9000 which i bought that was having issues boot looping on power on. Sometimes it can boot loop for 20 seconds (looping at the Samsung screen, not the S screen) while others it can boot loop for 20 minutes before powering on.
I've tried flashing with ODIN using the 512 pit to numerous stock versions, most recently this : GT_I9000_XWJVP_XXJVQ_VAUJV6_Sbl (stock vodafone AU rom). The flash goes fine, however if I select format with the 512 PIT I can get the following message after the reboot:
E:format_volume: rfs format failed on /dev/block/mmcblkop2
Even if this message doesn't come up on flash, The phone keeps boot looping. Once started, the phone seems to work fine detecting internal & SD memory. I want a more permanent fix however, because if I was planning on giving it to a friend and 'leaving the phone boot looping until it starts' is probably too hard for them to understand. Also I'm not sure if there's an issue with the internalSD which is causing the problem, and if it is, it could cause further issues on more harder use.
Anyone had this sort of issue? The phone was flashed with ICS when the guy sent it to me, he said the bootloops started after he upgraded to ICS. I've got a 32gb SD- tried removing before flash and having it in while flash with no success (have seen a guide for installing on external SD for the i9000m- however it looks like you can only do this if the media device has completely failed). It seems to boot every time using a bootloader kernal (cant remember the name, ICE something from memory) into the recovery software- so maybe a busted sector on the internal SD?
Ideas anyone?
Cheers,
Dylan
Maybe try going into cwm wipe internal same card memory, remove external as card, put into download mode and flash with Odin using pit and repetition checked, if you get the devblock error flash this is PDA without repetition checked and without pit http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=984140

Bit of a problem with that matey, Kies says the phone does not support firmware updates through KEIS and the rom i've been flashing with KEIS is the full standard rom from Vodafone- includes CSC, PDA and phone files. from memory the PDA file contains the standard bootloader yeah?
Look at this
Take a Firmware with the red SBL ending, thats with bootloader, flash it in download mode via odin and the problem should and must be solved through this !!
btw: i recommend to flash a JW5 version.. please tell us if this worked !
Did you get a look at the error? Or try flashing the cf root kernel?

GT_I9000_XWJVP_XXJVQ_VAUJV6_Sbl is the firmware i'm using, so no good with the boot loader
I'll try a JW5 version as suggested .
Also to the guy above, no luck with getting the error message, i'll give it another flash now and see how it goes.
Cheers guys really appreciate it

can you enter recovery (vol up+menu+power) or download mode (vol down+menu+power)?
if you can get into recovery, do wipe dalvik->reboot and tell us what happens
if download - flash your country's whole rom with odin and start again

so what are you using now? GB or JB? i had that problem too...it booted well jbean and im stuck at seup wizard error pop out... i cant acceess also recovery mode but download mode is ok... im now back at Gbread but i still wanted my cp to be on JBean is there a force mothod? to pass error "unfortunately, samsung setup wizard has stoped?" i had this problem same exact one...
Still problem with booting
I have tried to flash many different firmwares. ODIN says green but the phone does not boot. Just the first logo or Samsung with some animation.. than it gets stuck there. ADB does not work then either.
I have tried to root and wipe data with different ODIN, but nothing helped. TWRP is not present on "download mode" either..
On ODIN3 v3.07 I see there there is a tickbox for "NAND ERASE ALL" but when I have it checked it fails or hands on erase state.
Could you please help me what I can do next?
I would like to have complete firmware and root and install TWRP etc. but I need to get booting up ok. I have already 15 on "custome binory download"

after flashing.. remove / replace your battery..
try booting in recovery by pressing vol up+home+power at the same time..
then scroll down to factory reset via vol keys..
wipe and restore factory settings..
Because my i9000 has been horribly slow with the stock rom the past few months, I finally decided to give a custom ROM a shot.
I followed all of the steps to install SlimBean and I succeeded in doing so. However, I did not backup my EFS and upon booting SlimBean, my IMEI and BaseBand were empty. I've spent most of my day trying to fix this - turns out, I can't. After a few hours I decided to try flashing the stock ROM. I found one on sammobile and after data wiping with Odin I flashed it. Now my phone's stuck in a boot loop. When I turn it on, it plays the boot sound, then it plays the animation, after which it will show the S logo for a few moments. Then, it keeps restarting the animation.
I've spent a lot of time and effort on trying to fix this, and I've tried a ton of solutions I found through google and this forum's search function.
Is there anything I can do in my situation? Did I permanently screw up my phone?
Thank you very much in advance.

I've tried this with the .pit file included with Odin3, it will immediately fail. Should I have had one specific to my phone?

I fear i may have bricked my phone...
I was trying to create a custom ROM, set the ROM to wipe data. After i installed the ROM via CWM i got stuck in a boot loop.
I am able to boot into CWM as well as download mode.
Things I've tried:
1) Flashing stock ROM - still boot loop after doing this. It also asks to install an un-trusted package after flashing, not sure what this is.
2) Flash PARAM_I8190.tar.md5 - Still boot loop
3) Restore from backup - Gives me an error "Error while restoring /data!"
I've wiped data, cache, everything... but the boot loop persists.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hey, no i haven't tried that. I remember saving a pit file a while back but can't find it at the moment.
Is there any other way to get one?
Are they device specific?

Yeah i found it thanks, do i have to flash the pit file along with the stock ROM?
with stock rom or kernal
Hmmm, okay I've flashed the PIT file at the same time as stock ROM, and still it's stuck in a loop
Okay this is sorted, i flashed stock recovery then re-flashed firmware.
Thanks David for you assistance.
