Please help in regards to unlocked at&t htc one - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

like I am buyting at&t htc one but seller said its unlocked just by codes given by at&t itself (as the seller is stating) and he says nothing else like rooting or bootloader unlocked is not done on it . But I will check if he is true or lieing as he is not telling me if its bootloader unlocked too . So just tell me this that if its (only) bootloader unlocked then I will see s-off instead of s-on ??? or I can still see s-on even if the device is just bootloader unlocked ,,,,,
how to check that its not bootloader unlocked ?! and I will surely get future updates ?! From where it will get the future updates ? like by htc server or still by at&t ?

If when you boot into your bootloader, power off your phone then press and hold Volume down and the power button, and either "TAMPERED" or "UNLOCKED" are shown, then the seller unlocked to bootloader. However, I don't think that stops your OTA updates from AT&T. Unlocking the bootloader only voids AT&T's warranty of the phone. Make sure Fastboot in the power options is unchecked before trying to boot into your bootloader.

[Q] Unlock Xperia X8 via Data Cable

Hi guys, my doubt is the following:
I have unlocked bootloader but I want to unlock the "network lock" so my X8 can use any operator but I don't know what happens with my bootloader, it locks again? Thanks in advance
Look at the image below to see clearly what I'm talking about

If you have unloceked bootloader, then you should have sim unlock too. Look at that thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1254225

What are you talking about? That thread actually says bootloader unlock does not sim unlock the phone.

Calm down, NIMBAH - there are always people who fail to understand what a particular guide is all about (or not).
EDIT: @OP
Your other chance, which may be the better solution, is to SIM unlock through an EMMA/IMEI code. There are some sites on the net offering this kind of service.
Then, unlocking via EMMA/IMEI code my boootloader won't suffer any change, right?

No, your boot loader won't suffer changes ... the one has not really anything to do with the other.
The only relevant thing is at boot loader unlock - there's a scenario (read the guide in the development section!) where the original SIM lock could return, but that entirely depends on how the phone got SIM unlocked in the first place.
I unlocked bootloader and it unlocked my phone, and now i can use any sim card (t-mobile, vip.....)

Unlock Xperia X8
Please tell us how do you get it.
I have an Xperia X8 and I finalised the year, so I can ask to my operator to unlock the phone. The problem is that I have modified the original system (Android 1.6) the actual system is Android 2.3 (MiniCM 7-2.2) and I supose the operator will rejected to unlock my phone.
in my opinion should take. and as pujdzie something wrong, and so it can upload the unlocked bootloader 2.1 stock under flashtool and then bootladera lock without restoring your stock. And then you can return to normal rom coustom

[Q] Bad Camera on VZW Moto X?

Hello all! I have a situation and I'll just break it down into a list rather than trying to write it out.
Retail Moto X on Verizon, about 1 month old
Front facing camera never worked (purple static/noise when app is launched, then crashes "Camera error")
Unlocked bootloader (with the annoying warning screen at boot)
Same results with camera
Installed CM10.2 and Liquid Smooth ROMs
Same results with camera
Did a factory reset with VZW_XT1060_4.4.2-KXA20.16-1.25.2_CFC_1FF.xml.zip
Same results with camera
Tried locking the bootloader in hopes of returning the Moto X for repairs
Boot warning remains
So, some questions.
Is it possible to remove the bootloader warning on a retail VZW Moto X? I tried the steps listed in http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/general/noob-guide-unroot-relock-bootloader-vzw-t2571786 with no change in the boot screen.
Anyone else think this is definitely hardware failure?
Is there a right way to handle getting this fixed?
P.S. It's my wife's phone. Certainly earned myself some brownie points by unlocking the phone without thinking about the camera issue.
If its a retail Verizon X and you unlocked the bootloader, you've voided your warranty.
In the bootloader/fastboot screen, it tell you the status is Unlocked Status code:3. If you relock the bootloader via the mfastboot oem lock command, the status will change to RELOCKED. We can't set it to LOCKED. The LOGO.BIN will display the UNLOCKED warning when your bootloader status is either unlocked or relocked
If Verizon or Moto sees this, you will be denied warranty service. Will they really check? I don't know.
As for the bootloader unlocked warning on boot... see -> http://mark.cdmaforums.com/MotoX-Bootlogo.htm which is based on this thread -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/themes-apps/moto-x-boot-logos-t2417961

These images are an example of what I get right after a factory reset.
Contacted Motorola Support via their chat service. They have offered to replace the device. Hope they don't end up charging us for the phone when they get this one back to the factory.

Is it a developer edition? Dev editions can be unlocked & maintain warranty.
If it's a motomaker version, then yes they will probably charge you once they get the phone & see that it is unlocked. Once you unlock a non-dev edition, you lose your warranty.

[Q] SIM Unlock requires stock ROM

Hey,
I just bought a SIM unlock code through eBay. I have also done this process successfully in the past with my AT&T HTC One X and it worked flawlessly when I took the device abroad and inserted a foreign SIM; back then, I wasn't messing with custom ROMs so I have no way to conclude if the code seller is correct with his statement.
He wrote to me this:
"All codes are from factory and they don't normally fail. it must be the software on the phone which needs to updated to official latest ROM to enable it accept the code. The phone should ask for SIM NETWORK UNLOCK PIN."
I am now running the latest GPe on my AT&T HTC One; I am also S-OFF. This is a screenshot of my phone info:
{

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I am unsure what I should do now... Should I backup and flash the stock ROM? If so, where do I find the one that is relevant for me? Will flashing the stock ROM cancel my unlocked bootloader, S-OFF, root?
Thanks a lot!
"All codes are from factory and they don't normally fail. it must be the software on the phone which needs to updated to official latest ROM to enable it accept the code. The phone should ask for SIM NETWORK UNLOCK PIN."
that statement is a load of rubbish, your IMEI number on your phone never changes, and you have to give them that number and device model in order for them to generate your unlock code, correct ?
they are correct however in saying that the device will ask for the sim unlock code, but only when its been inserted with a different operators sim card, if its booting and working with a different operators sim in it, and not asking for the unlock pin, then its already unlocked.
your IMEI and model makes that unlock code specific to your phone and your phone only, doesn't matter what software you have on it.
either he has entered the wrong IMEI number or selected the wrong device when generating the unlock code, or you've given him the wrong number.
ive unlocked mine and had and still have ViperOne on it.

14 days for an unlock code?

trying to get an unlock bootloader code for my mate S .... keep gettiing "The Huawei ID used to apply for the unlock code has not been used on the device for more than 14 days."
do i really have to wait 2 weeks before i can root my phone?
hey,
i did not have to wait at all.
i followed a guide posted in a german forum where they point out going here first:
http://emui.huawei.com/en/plugin.php?id=hwdownload&mod=list
on the top right you can see "download", click that.
you should see an "unlock bootloader" link. check the pic below to see what i mean:

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
on the following page check the "remember ID" box and click the facebook button leaving everything else empty (you need a facebook account to log on at the following site of course). see the pic!
you should then see an "unlocking agreement". accept it and then enter the data as required in this pic.
upon entering my data there i instantly had the bootloader unlock code on my screen.
try it out, hope it works for you!
greetz,
vercetti.
thanks for the reply, but i still get the same message....."The Huawei ID used to apply for the unlock code has not been used on the device for more than 14 days.".....guess ill have to wait a couple of weeks....
unlocking bootloader
I am as well unable to get the unlocked code, kept saying the same message. Do you really have to wait 14 days? Did you get any luck, I see the other post about DC-Unlocker, don't know how to go about it. I had my phone for quite awhile just haven't happen to unlock it yet, however it is already SIM unlocked, just not the bootloader.
***update
So i went ahead and used DC-unlocker; paid the $4.59 for it and was able to get the code and unlocked the bootloader and was able to install a custom recovery, I couldn't wait/stand for Huawei website, it was frustrating me, so buggy and unresponsive.
After all that just search google, "root mate s TWRP recovery", a lot of helpful content out there, that'll explain how.
By the way, I have the model CRR-L00, it was already network unlocked when i bought it and came with google play already installed.
TWRP recovery i used - twrp-2.8.7.0-carrera.img (searched it on google)
root i used- BETA-SuperSU-v2.68-20160228150503
A complete guide would be here, very straightforward: http://www.android.gs/root-install-twrp-recovery-huawei-mate-s/ It states that it was done on a crr-l09, I've tested on mines it works as well.

Verizon Moto E5 Play XT1921-6 (James), can't unlock bootloader

Hi everyone.
I'm following the instructions in order to get TWRP on my phone and flash Resurrection Remix Oreo, but I'm not being able to unlock the bootloader.
I get the "Your device does not qualify for bootloader unlocking." message at the Motorola unlocking website
Does this have anything to do with Verizon? Their E5 Play isn't unlockable at the moment?
I should get 5 strings of unlock data, but instead I get the "Unlock data:" text in the first line, and then 4 more. Is this something that should happen?

Verizon-branded phones cannot be bootloader unlocked. Has always been this way.
You cannot flash a custom ROM with a locked bootloader.

Their Google Pixel/XL's bootloader was unlockable, though..
Anyway, I learned something new today, thanks for the info

I was referring to Verizon's Moto phones. The Verizon-branded Pixel/XL had a workaround to allow BL unlock, as did the Pixel 2 for a short period of time (was patched in an update). But the Verizon-branded Pixel 2 XL and Pixel 3s still cannot be bootloader unlocked.
I am having the same issue, however can you root a phone without unlocking the bootloader?
