I bought HTC One (M7) in Dubai (Middle East). After few months I got the notification that there is software update available now. Since I updated there is a purple tint issue in the camera.
Rooted and tried different versions of stock firmwares and ROMs hoping to fix that issue but couldn't fix it.
After failing effort I talked to HTC about the purple tint issue and they asked me to send it in for repairs. For warranty purposes, I unrooted, locked bootloader, downgraded hBoot, S-Off so that I can go back to stock using RUU EXE/ZIP.
I have been searching but I CANNOT find the RUU / Stock firmware for Middle East/GCC region anywhere.
Model ID: PN07100
CID: HTC__J15
I know there is a European stock firmware for that MID & CID which I am currently using, but I am not sure if that would be an issue or not if I send it for repairs.
Any help in getting it on the GCC/Middle East stock firmware will be greatly appreciated.
THANKS.
I Have The One From Dubai too , we have an international One that means you use the European ruu it's the same as long as it match your MID and CID and say M7_UL not M7_U it is the same

Hello,
I just bought HTC One (in retail, without operator logo). I just noticed following in my Kernel information :
3.4.10-gb91aaea
[email protected] #1
SMP PREEMPT
Does this mean that device is rooted? I noticed Vodafone logo when turning on device. Everything works fine, I just want to be sure that my device will be able to receive all updates from HTC and not be locked.
Thanks in advance for answer.
Nope it isn't. Try the Root Checker app in the Play Store to confirm
Check CID using CID getter from play store. So that you can know from will u get the updates.

Thanks for answers. Just one more question : Can I install stock HTC WWE ROM on my device? To remove this Vodafon stuff and have clean stock ROM?
Thanks again,
You'd have to unlock your bootloader and a custom recovery would needed too, then you're free to install any roms

To the OP you have to do what kurby suggested but remember that you cannot use any RUU except the Vodafone one. If however you are just wanting to install the actual ROM then you can do it after unlocking the bootloader and flashing a custom recovery.
Thanks guys. Can you please clarify this a little bit more as I'm new to this : You say that if I want to install original HTC WWE ROM instead of Vodafon version, I must unlock bootloader and then find RUU from Vodafone? Is that right? Do you maybe have a link for a RUU for Vodafone version of HTC One?
You can only install RUU to the same CID region. Looks like your phone is not a retail non branded phone. You will not able to get updates from HTC even with the stock rom installed because it will check if the CID is the same region. You can unlock bootload, install a custom recovery then can flash any custom rom but not RUU.

As mentioned before RUU is CID specific. So if your CID is not in the list of the RUU, the RUU won't flash your phone. For example if I have a Vodafone branded HTC One and I want to debrand it to get rid of the Vodafone stuff that's installed on my HTC One. I simply can't just use the stock 1.29.401.16 UK RUU because the CID list for the UK ROM(RUU) are as follows:
cidnum: HTC__001
cidnum: HTC__E11
cidnum: HTC__102
cidnum: HTC__203
cidnum: HTC__405
cidnum: HTC__Y13
cidnum: HTC__304
cidnum: HTC__032
cidnum: HTC__A07
cidnum: HTC__J15
cidnum: HTC__016
Now if my Vodafone branded HTC One has a CID for example VODA001, then when I try to run the 1.29.401.16 RUU it will fail. Because my CID is not in that list. But if you unlock the bootloader and flash a custom recovery and then flash this stock ROM that mike1986. posted http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2224752 that will work.
But bear in mind just because you have used that stock ROM that mike1986. posted it doesn't mean you can install OTA updates from that region. Because the next update for example is 1.29.401.20 the OTA will look for the CID in the list I posted. And since your CID is techinically still VODA001 the OTA update will not install.
Now when we are able to change the CID on the HTC One then you can use any RUU you wish as long as you have a matching CID or a SuperCID.
Thanks very much guys! I understand now.

will this file work on my phone? i have a htc one UK version on orange & recently updated it to 4.2.2
CID: ORANG001
MID: PN0710000
version main: 2.24.61.1
No, for flash this you need the s-off and the superCID.
I have an htc one, I changed the cid and mid to Dev Edition - CID: HTC__001 and MID: PN0712000. I updated firmware for 4.4 thru fast boot using an international custom fastboot. I want to change back to stock T-Mobile CID: T-MOB010 and MID: PN0713000 so I can flash stock tmobile firmware to update 4.4.2. I'm able to change cid to T-MOB010 but I cannot change mid to PN013000. Can someone please help!!!

Hi, i've been on my htc one for a while and now i'm moving to lg g3, i wanted to restore my one to his stock status but i can't use RUU, i get error 158.
i'm using RUU M7 UL K44 SENSE55 MR HTC Europe 4.19.401.9 R Radio 4A.23.3263.28 10.38r.1157.04L Release 353069 Signed 2-1.
i tryied to modify CID to HTC_032 (because it was tmobile one, but my phone is the european version) and i checked model id via fastboot wich is PN0710000 (so that's right), I also relocked my phone and checked RUU's MD5 but the problem still occur. what am i missing?

Could you post your fastboot getvar all please ?
Also, you cant change your cid with the bootloader locked.
ther following CID's all belong to the same RUU European family so as long as yours is one of these then there is no need to change it:
HTC__001, HTC__E11
HTC__102, HTC__203
HTC__405, HTC__Y13
HTC__304, HTC__032
HTC__A07, HTC__J15
HTC__016
Restore this backup http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2992871
With correct CID and MID
Flash same firmware
Lock bootloader
That's it
I would like to know what is the relation of Model & MID and CID?
My issue is that I have a Asia HK edition of M7 (M7_UL) with a CID of HTC__622 and a MID of PN0714, but I do not get any sense of their relation to each other. I do understand that M7_UL determines my hardware? But then why the MID?
I unlocked my bootloader in hope that i can flash other stock rom to get rid of the HK version and have some WWE, but since I do not have S-OFF (hboot 1.57) i could not change my CID or MID to be able to flash a WWE. And since there is only payware (sunshine) to get S-OFF now, i would like to be sure if my idea would work to move from HK to WWE without loosing functionality or bricking my device (I'm from Europe).
Thanks for any HOWTOs and TIPs, advices!

MID is the model number. All M7_UL have MID starting with PN071 have the same internals
PN0710000 for WWE version
PN0712000 for Dev edition, GPE edition, AT&T/Rogers
PN0714000 for Asia/HongKong version
The only exception is PN0711000 which is a M7_U (without LTE) and have a different modem.
With s-off you can change your MID from PN0714000 to PN0710000, your CID from HTC__622 to HTC__001 and flash a x.xx.401.x RUU so your phone will be converted to stock european WWE version.
