Hey guys, so this is my first post here on XDA, and being totally honest I am a complete noob who has no idea what technical terms mean. Terms like S-Off and H-Boot are all Greek to me. :/
Ok so I have an Incredible S which came with a custom ICS Rom. But since there's an official rom from HTC Dev I downloaded that, connected my phone to HTC Sync and ran the exe file. Everything went fine, the progress bar went on, but after the setup on my pc said that it was completed the phone just seems to be stuck on the HTC white screen. It was that was for over an hour and I knew something had gone wrong.
The rom that I downloaded was the NAM one.
I know how to get into the bootloader screen (power and volume down) and these are what I see there:
VIVO PVT **** S-OFF RL
HBOOT-6.13.1002
RADIO-3831.19.00.19_M
eMMC-boot
Apr 1 2011,18:34:39
I thought I got a corrupted rom or something so I downloaded the WWE rom from HTC Dev as well, but when I extracted the rar file it's a whole load of folders and files I don't even know how to use, unlike the earlier NAM file which was a simple exe. What worries me more is that I have no idea how to even connect the phone to my USB and get a rom inside the SD card so I could flash it through the bootloader.
I went through so many threads on this forum but like I said, I don't really understand all the techy terms. :/
Many apologies, but I'd really appreciate a walkthrough on how I can get my phone to work again.
Present status with the phone is that it won't get past the HTC logo screen and won't connect to the computer.
Please help!
Thank you!
Wrong forum, post in Incredible S Q/A
First post on a nice website... AND YOU BLEW IT! Lol. But yeah, wrong phone forum.

Your phone has the Revolutionary S-OFF HBOOT which is preventing the WWE RUU from running successfully. At this point, you have the new ROM installed, but it requires the stock HTC ICS HBOOT be in place to boot and run, thus the reason the phone gets hung at the HTC screen.
I suggest you reinstall a custom recovery such as 4EXT and then install mike1986's ARHD ROM. This is based on the latest HTC ICS ROM that you have attempted to install, but has a number of performance tweaks.

Will you not need Blackrose HBOOT as well?

Possibly. Although mike1986 has listed it on previous versions as being a requirement, it has run perfectly fine on Revolutionary HBOOT 6.13.
Follow Up: Reinstall Recovery

Hi tpbklake,
So I am new to this as well so bare with me. I have the exact same problem (WWE RUU not running because of Revolutionary S-OFF HBOOT) however I'm not sure how to go about implementing your solution. You see, I can open the bootloader however I can't get past it. Fastboot doesn't do anything for me. What can I do to get past this problem?

Do you have HTC Sync and the associated drivers installed on your PC? What OS are you running? It sounds like a driver issue to me.

I do have HTC Sync and I do have the HTC drivers installed. I'm running Windows 7. The problem is that HTC Sync nor my computer cant locate the device because the phone doesn't go past the bootloader screen. If I try to start the phone normally or in recovery mode it just freezes at the white htc screen.

OK, remove HTC Sync, but leave the HTC drivers installed.
Boot the phone into bootloader and then then select FASTBOOT from the HBOOT menu.
Then connect your phone with the USB cable and the phone menu should change to FASTBOOT USB.
Once you get that far, you should be able to flash a custom recovery using the command
fastboot flash recovery [name of the recovery.img file]
You should download the recovery.img file to your PC and put it in the same directory where you have the adb.exe and fastboot.exe.
THANK YOU

I need some help with the moonshine style of S-Off for the HTC one on At&T , I did the S-OFF on the HTC One X when it first was available with no problem, but this one has got me. I have done all that is required for the instructions on http://moonshine.io/, downloaded the right version for my OS (checked several times of the version number of 1.26.502.12. Boot loader is unlocked to HTC Dev. , rooted etc all that stuff and I keep getting the same thing as the attachment. The tool goes so far then stops with many lines of ......... for as long as I let it. Need some help, I know I am doing something wrong but don't know what.
I have solved the problem, don't need help now. Achieved S-OFF and supercid
Hi guys i knew the ins and out of my galaxy S3, but need help with my htc one
I know this is a big ask but having a real bad time trying to get this sorted, but need to get back to stock for new digitizer replacement.
i am running ARHD 11 with unlocked bootloader S-off, latest firmware. and twrp on my UK HTC_001
Is there a full guide to get me back to stock, as i have trawled through the forum and have about 10 tabs with various information but its getting to confusing as to what to do first with out bricking my phone.
i tried to do my stock nandroid backup first but that gave me no touchscreen function, not sure if that's because i have updated to the latest firmware, so had to flash ARHD back to get touchscreen function agian.
i then relocked the bootloader and that wiped my phone so had no system to boot into just cwm recovery. Tried to sideload rom but that didn't work adb error closed.
then i fastboot flash twrp, and then usb otg flashed arhd 11 from usb stick, working agian.
this is doing my head in, been at this for 3 days and getting nowhere
in what order do i go about this to get to full stock without bricking
need to be S-on
locked bootloader
revone locked not relocked
stock uk HTC_001 unbranded rom
unroot.
Big thanks in advance guys if you can help.
You should be able to install a 401 RUU and then
./revone -l
fastboot oem writesecureflag 3
thanks benpope, need a bit more of a guide dude,
not sure what RUU i need, my phone is uk unbranded htc_001
do i fastboot the RUU rom?
revone-l , is to turn relocked to locked i guess
thanks

I would gain S-off and unlock bootloader again then flash this RUU in fastboot
http://bugsylawson.com/files/file/1...13323127-1031113105-release-310878-signedexe/
RUU (ROM Update Utility)
Connect your device to the PC
Open/run the RUU and follow on screen instructions.
Set up your phone once it reboots then check for software update and you should get the 1.29.401.12 update.
When you have installed the update you can use revone to set S-on and lock your bootloader.
./revone -l
fastboot oem writesecureflag 3
This is what I did and it worked for me.

If i were you i would write superCID from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317536. leave S-Off as it is and only lock the bootloader and then just flash the latest WWE RUU and you`re done. Unless you have a problem with your phone and need to turn it in for repair.
Cheers guys will give it a go in the morning, on nightshift at the mo

Getting stuck at RUU error 170 usb cable connection, must be a driver error.
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
Adb updated, htc drivers, HTC sync, pdanet installed but still getting RUU ERROR 170 usb cable not connected when trying to run Ruu Rom. Adb devices dosent see my device, it did 2 days ago.
No driver installs when I plug phone into pc in bootloader mode, pdanet used to pop up too, but dosent any more, reinstalled them all but still the same, even used cccleaner to fix registries.
Any advice on this one thanks.

I have a zip you can flash which will fully hard brick your phone with no chance of HTC recovery if you need it, will probably result in a new phone and not just a new touchscreen.

Man, that's dark.
Is this confirmed? Has anybody flashed this, then sent their phone for warranty repair?
My phone, as far as I could tell was hard bricked (AOSP), but HTC was able to pull up my bootloader to tell me they were gonna need $200 to replace my main board.
It has been confirmed as it was initially flashed accidentally by someone. However, I won't be sharing the link as I feel it isn't morally right to do it
As with many people on here I am having problems with 8.1 & HTC one fasboot for the usb 2.
I want to put on the 1.55 hboot to hopefully cure my problems but I am not sure how to go about it?
Do I need to relock my bootloader or not?
What else do I need to do?

The safest way is to flash a supported RUU for your phone, while s-on. If there are no RUUs, then you can go s-off and flash any RUU you want. Otherwise, you can search for HBOOTs or firmwares. Be very careful while flashing and never go back s-on while on a custom firmware/hboot.

What CID are you? Do you have a nandroid? If yes, then restore the nandroid, and try getting s-off on a windows 7/8 machine with USB 2.0 ports and adb/fastboot drivers already installed, and htc sync removed. You need to be bootloader unlocked, so locking your bootloader was a step backwards.
Do this
1. On a windows 7/8(not 8.1) machine, install htc sync (the latest available) and reboot, then uninstall htc sync, but leave htc driver installer as it is. Then connect your phone (usb 2.0 port) while usb debugging is enabled, let it install the driver. Then reboot to bootloader, make sure it shows fastboot USB, and let it install the driver.
2. Unlock your bootloader, flash a custom recovery
3. Restore your nandroid/search for a guru reset rom here www.htc1guru.com
4. Go to rumrunner.us and follow all the instructions there.
Done
Ps, if I helped you, press the thanks button

Hi. I had my HTC One unlocked, S-Off, Rooted and I was running ViperOne Rom and everything was running fine but I wanted to return to 100% stock so I could get my 40GB Google Drive. But now I can't get S-Off again, i've unlocked my bootloader and i've tried to S-Off using Rumrunner and various other ways with cmd but it fails everytime. Has anyone else had this problem or am I missing something. Cheers Alex.
