[Q] Bluetooth music on car radio - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
This may very well be a stupid question, but I can't find any information about it. Here's the deal. I have CM10.1 Stable, with original kernel, setup on the SNG. I also now have a bluetooth car radio. The pairing works fine, and calls can be made and heard on car speakers. However, whatever I do, I cannot get a music player to send music to the bluetooth. It just plays on the phone speaker. I've searched for settings, in bluetooth options, in the music players (tried two), but alas to no avail. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks for the help.
Tony

Don't remember about 10.1 but 10.2, the music through Bluetooth works fine..

OK, so how do you get it to work, step by step?
1-pair bluetooth device
2-Play music using apollo or player pro or whatever player you may use..
And is that it?
As I was saying, the problem here could very well be the user... But I can't figure it out !
Thanks,

Yeah. There is no need to open apollo. I just select BT audio on car stereo and it starts playing from where I left last time..

Ah, a shame then. Clearly something is wrong with my setup then... No idea why music won't play !

Notifications over Bluetooth?

Why don't notifications go over bluetooth? 2.1, cyanogem 5.0.6, 5.0.7, and now 2.2, and they always go to the speaker instead of my bluetooth headset? why is that.
Just a bump in hopes of an answer or resolution. Running stock here.
I frequently listen to music over bluetooth headphones. Notifications go through the speaker, so I frequently miss texts and emails. If a headset is plugged in, music is interrupted. Any apps to fix this? Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere? Thanks for any and all help.

Hmmm, OK, maybe it's the music player then?? I'm using MixZing Pro. Which app are you using for your music? I'm more than willing to try that as a solution.

Not the headset, that's for sure. The phone shouldn't care what it's connected to; it either sends notifications over bluetooth or it doesn't.
I'll test the stock music player, but I'm willing to be yours works because of the custom ROM, and not the stock music player.
ETA: Stock music player made no difference.

i use it in stock rom, and cm and both have the same result in fact i have better use of BT on cm
in stock before root, the BT stop listen when i get a call, and i have to reconnect again. or if my device was sleeping for while and try listen music the player seems like playing buty i hear nothing on BT and i need reconnected again in CM this not happening im not regreeting atm for root my nexus one
I don't have an issue with calls. It's missing texts and emails because the notifications from them don't go over bluetooth in a completely stock N1.

Unfortunately that doesn't do me any good if I don't want to run a custom ROM. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the information. With 2.2 on the way (even if a few weeks out) I'd rather wait for the official OTA than flash a custom ROM, especially since I'm on AT&T. Glad you found a solution that you like, though.

[Q] CM9 Bluetooth Audio Stutter

Hi,
I'm running CM9 nightly and have had this problem for a while.
I listen to internet radio and online podcasts a lot and wanted to be able to move the Touchpad around the house soI bought a Logitech Bluetooth Adapter which streams audio from the Touchpad to my sound system via bluetooth.
The problem is I getting very frequent and random stutters in sound, just for a fraction of a second.
I've read that it may be a problem a lot of people have with ICS in general but not entirely sure.
Could anyone please shed some light onto this and suggest a fix?
Thanks
Anyone?
have you been able to isolate whether or not it is in fact the bluetooth connection, the app that you are using to stream the podcasts, or the internet/wifi connection?
so have you tried the bluetooth speaker with different audio sources or music player/apps?
have you tried the same podcast app with a regular headset or built in speakers while moving around the house?
does this only happen in certain spots?
does this only happen when you turn the screen/display of the touchpad off?
give some detail on what youve tried already.
Thanks for replying

Happens when using Tunein Radio via wifi, podcasts using Beyondpod and streaming music from my PC.

Yes. No problems when I switch to WebOS on the Touchpad and stream via bluetooth, using the WebOS version of Tunein Radio.

Built in speakers - no issues. Connected to my amplifier using a 3.5mm cable in the headphone socket - again no problems with audio.

No. Happens if I'm next to the router or in another room.

Happens at any time. The display on or off makes no difference.

I've tried updating to the latest nightly CM9 builds. Also yesterday I flashed Fat 'n Creamy ROM but I still get the same problem.

[Q] Mercedes Benz A-Class 2013 - Connectivity issues while using Spotify

Hi, I recently bought a Mercedes Benz A-Class 2013 with the Audio 20 CD package. The in-car hands free works great, and I'm able to play music over Bluetooth from my phone using the standard music app on my phone (I've tried both a Sony Xperia S and my HTC One). The title, album and artist of the current song is displayed fine as well.
The problem is, I only use Spotify or Audible to listen to music or audiobooks. Never the default music app.
When I try to play music over Bluetooth using Spotify, it plays the selected track for exactly 5 seconds, before it stops, and the built-in computer tells me that the Bluetooth playback is paused. No title/album/artist information is displayed either.
Does anybody know how I can fix this? I'm up for rooting my phone if that is necessary, as long as I'm able to play music from my phone using Spotify.
In the online manual to the MB car computer, the HTC One isn't one if the supported units, but my Xperia S is. Still, neither work with Spotify over Bluetooth.
I have tried to put Spotify in both online and offline mode. Neither work.
Alternatively, does anybody know of a way I could tunnel the audio output (and song information) from Spotify and "mask" it as the default music player app? (I know this is pretty far out there and if even possible, is probably very hard to do, but I'm open to any and all suggestions.)
Any help is appreciated!

Thank you so much for your reply! I did this, and suddenly, for no reason apparent to me, it works no matter how I connect my phone to it.
To sum it up. I disconnected my phone from both the music and the telephone screen. Then I connected it to the music screen, played a song, and while playing, connected it to the phone screen. Again, somehow everything works no matter which order I connect them in now. Weird, but I'm not complaining!

BT Headset and custom ROMs.

Hi all..
I have a minor problem for most that is important enough for me and keeps me away from all those wonderful custom ROMs..
That is:
The phone is set to "vibrate mode", I stream music through A2DP and it works great until someone calls me. Then the headset notifies about the call and the music I used to listen to is now played back loudly through the phone's speaker. That is very annoying, given that I discovered it when I was in my university's library trollolol.
I tried all versions, CM10.1, AOSP, AOKP and this happens in every single one of them. Only in stock based ROMs everything is working as it should..
This also happens with the apollo player and also with player pro.
Also tried Optimus Prime kernel by demetris_l, still the same.
Lastly, I also tried it with 2 different A2DP bluetooth headsets (Sony Ericsson MW-600 and Scosche tuneStreamII), both act the same.
Any help would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks for your time!
Update.. I managed to work around it by changing the applications I have been using.. Mortplayer works great and doesn't act like that, for instance.
Thing is, why did the apps like PlayerPro and Apollo worked ok and paused music playback during a call on the stock ROM but not on any of the custom ones?
Is it maybe that they can't use the READ_PHONE_STATE permission properly?
Thanks for providing a workaround atleast
thre was a guy saying that this doesnt happen to him, so dont you think it could be your BT headset?

[Q] Headphones aren't detected automaticlly by phone.

Hello.
Today i've flashed a nighly port of CM9 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2722721), running naa-ics-04. Everything was fine to the moment I wanted to listen to some music. After conecting my headphones, the first thinh i saw that the small icon doesnt appear at the notification bar as it happened to on other phones. the second thing was that when I played a song through Play Music, it was played throug speaker, not the connected headphones.
I had this problem on other rom also, and it was fixed by flashing a file that i just dont remember. Don't tell me that i shoul use Soundabout or any simillar apps, cause' its not a real sollution.
Thanks in advance, spindrion.

use nAa minicm. it does not have any such problems. if you want to use this rom then there is an app that routes sound to headphones rather than the speakers. try that out you will find it in some CM11 or CM10 thread. next time you have a such questions post it in the respective rom thread. its better that way. OP can help you out and there will be one less thread.
