[Q] Google Maps, Sky and compass dont point in the right way - Galaxy S 4 Active Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I think something is wrong with the inner compass of my S4...
things like google maps google sky or a compass app aren't working properly. if I use maps navigation while walking the blue arrow points to a different direction than which i'm walking, If i'm pointing Google sky on say the great bear it is way of and if i open a compass app and point my phone to north it reads south west.
is this an hardware flaw? or something i can recalibrate?
thanks for your help!

live GPS weather radar

I have searched for hours and not able to find this so if it is already out there please let me know. Im looking for an app like google maps that will update my position using gps on the map as I move and to have the weather radar as an overlay and loop the radar images. So basicly I can watch on the map if im moving into the storm or away from it. I have gps weather radar 2.4, I like that app, just it doesnt show on the map my gps location as I move while looping the radar.
Thanks.
how could've you missed gpsweatherradar
I do currently have that installed. I like the program, but from what i can tell it that it doesn't show your location on the map in real time like if you were using google maps with gps or garmin. If that is a feature that I missed please let me know.
Your location is the red dot in the center of the map.
Yes but i havent noticed it moving as i move with out haveing to manually update my location.
Wow you had to reinterpret your entire first post in order for the guy to understand that you have the program already and it doesn't do what you want. Come on people, read a message before you reply.

Alternate Voices For Google Nav

Are there alternative voices in Google navigation like the TomTom does?
sure there is
http://us.blizzard.com/diablo3/community/merchandise/gps/index.xml?rhtml=y
ok in all seriousness, this would actually be cool lol
Don't mean to thread jack, but is there a way to put the Google Navigation to just 3D map mode?
No directions or anything like a normal GPS, it just shows you were you are, and shows what streets are coming up.
I know google maps does with the 2d map, but i'd like it to be 3dish. that would be cool.

Google Earth - HELP !!!

So here is the things,, I have a HTC Hero, Rooted and running 2.2.1 with Ekelinux-6/2/0-RC0 rom... Love it, everything about it is good, and fast, but Google Earth will not install,......
Can anyone offer me some advice ?
hardware limitations will stop you from installing Google Earth. nothing you can do.
really,, damn !
You can get Satellite view, but you can't get the 3D Earth view. In addition with Google Nav you can use Street View to view any destination.

[Request] Compass app incorp. maps

Hi all.
I'm looking for a compass app with the option of being able to choose my destination from google maps and then have the full-screen compass point me to my destination. If memory serves, such a compass was standard with WinMo 6.5 on our HD2s but since I refuse to go back I'm looking for an android equivalent.
I've looked at a few compass apps that show me my position on the map, or allow me to store my current location but none that do what I want (I don't think).
Any ideas?

Bing Maps vs Google Maps

If this device had Google Maps, it would have everything I want. My big problem with Bing Maps is that it doesn't have transit information. Google maps has been able to tell me public transportation routes in any city I have tried, from small cities like Salt Lake City to large cites like Boston and D.C. While there is some support on Bing for big cities, they have no support for the smaller ones.
I noticed that the new Bing released for Android and Iphone has a transit stream. Does anyone know what this is and if it is what I want, will it be added to the Bing on the Mango phones anytime soon?
Did you try gMaps? Works for me...
I had tried gMaps, but I couldn't figure out how to do the transit search. Looks like you click on the flag, which will allow you to toggle through driving, walking, segway, or TRANSIT. Whooohoo. Thanks NachoNut.
in australia even worse.
if we search for say "mcdonalds liverpool" it wont work. also no integration with bing search
booo
