Hello experts,
I have a few problems with my setup:
Hardware:
HTC Vivid - Rooted (Stock ROM)
Samsung Galaxy Tab
Toshiba Laptop Win7
On HTC I have android-wifi-tether installed. It shows HotSpots active.
Laptop can see network and connects to it but network undefined.
Samsung Tab doesn't see my HTC network at all but can see all others.
I need some help why laptop can't identify my network and why Galaxy doesn't see it?

Please try these steps to get tethering to work:
Start Application
Go to Settings
Select Device Type -> Galaxy Nexus LTE
Select Change Setup-Method -> netd (master)
Select Enable WiFi-Encryption -> Your Choice
Select Routing Fix
Start Tether and allow Root

No differences at all, except laptop no longer sees it.

If you are on ICS i would recommend rum float 4 and then use the steps Cruzin outlined. I can verify they work for that rom
Ive released a att build with native wifi tethering build that needs no work around quite awhile ago...may try it....who knows

On pirateghost's rum raider ROM it works perfectly. And sorry, it is CDMA/LTE. Others are saying it works as well:

All I had to do to get it to work was install wifi tether, set device profile to Galaxy Nexus (GSM), tick routing fix, activate tethering. The other steps weren't necessary. Like WC said though, he does have a build released that has the native wifi hotspot app working.
I have WC generic ICS build, with tether enabled and it works like a charm with my iconia A500.
As a matter of fact it works flawlessly with anything i've thrown at it
Running a rooted ATT ICS build with the settings defined in this thread and Im on tether right now typing this... works like a charm thanks!

I have sumsung Tab , OS:android . I would like to use VPN client I will be thankful if you can help me , because I installed openvpn and busybox but i do'nt realy what procedure to follow to configure the VPN , can you advice me ?

What ROM are you using? Depending on the ROM, you may already have the option to install the VPN settings from the main settings menu. (Menu > Settings > Location & Security > Install from SD card). Once your ca is installed, setup the VPN under wireless and networks.
Specifically for openvpn'
Download two apps. Openvpn installer and openvpn setting.
Install them both.
Run the openvpn installer and accept all defaults.
Run openvpn settings and choose your certs folder.
To launch (connect) you just need to run openvpn settings and tick the connection you want to open.
I have been using it on overcome from and aokp ice.

Hit Google play (market) and search anyconnect.

Hi Priyana, what's the 'verts folder'? I was told to creat a openvpn folder under the SD root, then what the file/files should I copy to that folder?

The cert folder is just a folder where you need to have your config file and your vpn keys/certs
Speak to your network admin. You can't just have a vpn without a server. So the server owner need to give you the necessary certs to access.

Ok.... I dont have that kind of service. What I need is to set up the VPN so I can access with Facebook or Twitter and so on...sometimes even for Gmail..... There are 4 countries in the world cant use them I am luckly living in one of those So, I applied an account and password from www.daili99.net, according one webpage, but last step it says 'copy all the configration and certification to this created folder' I cant figure it out....
So would you give me any suggestion to do? PPTP? tried but didnt work very well...

and my account, my password
Those are the information I was given to set up PPTP or L2TP but both of them wont work.

Ok I have set up my VPN, www.vcupone.com
I downloaded openvpn-ca.cer and clein-free.ovpn
I have copied both of them to SDCARD/openvpn,
Now when I turn on the openvpn, (check the box), then it could find Client-free.ovpn, it becomes 'resolve' but only in 1 second, then becomes 'wait' ....
wait for ever....
Could you please let me know what's wrong with that?

Thanks for these. I have a Chinese gear clone running 4.2.2. I've installed runtastic but have no icon on watch (don't know if thats normal for the app) and starting runtastic on the phone does nothing either. This is the app I'm most excited about getting going, so any advice would be great.

did you reboot the watch ? which runtastic version did you try
Yes rebooted, running runtastic pro 5.2 on a stock note 3 running 4.4.2. Bluetooth was on and I tried the 'connect smartwatch' setting but it sent me to the play store to get gear manager. Could a gear owner tell me, does the app on the phone trigger the watch app automatically or do you have an app icon on the watch to start the pairing?
Can you please explain how you are able to spoof your device to download the apps from Samsung app store. I have an LG G2, and cannot for the life of me figure this out. Thanks for your help.

be very caredful spoofing your device, take a nandroid before you make any changes, and try screenshotting your settings and also back up your current build prop,
device spoofing changes your build prop so when google play store determines what phone uve got to give you the correct apps,start by changing your buld version and rom name, then try screen density, but caution when u reboot to apply the settings your screen may not display,
do some research on device spoofing/faking first
market enabler just fakes your phone operator and country to get other specific apps not available to your own carrier/country

i havent yet tried it myself as im using a samsung tw rom
install gear manager from an apk, and goproviders from an apk with gearstub apk, these apks just cut out the need for samsung app store only available to samsung devices

That is not the android version mate but the tizen. You have to find the right version for your os

I was able to change the build prop and now I can install Samsung Galaxy store. I can now browse the store from Gear Manager. When I download and install the file it fails, which I expect. Where is the download location of the apk that fails to install, so I can transfer it to my pc, and then modify it? Thanks.

I am currently using an LG G2
I have been trying to download one of your apk files, but I can not, because I am receiving an error message saying your account has too much traffic.
I know I am suppose to modify the apk file, but how do I download the apk file from the Gear Manager store?

im guessing, if they failed to install they wont be saved, you maybe need to change more of your build.prop to save them, seems like you have only ticked apk to give you the apk, but not tricked the system to instal it

be caeful, if screen settings dont match, your phone will boot, but nothing will be displayed on your screen

Quick Fix For apn:
Download this new modded apn - config.xml file, go to system, etc. Folder find and delete file and replace it with this file set permissions, reboot and it will recognize data automatically.

INSTRUCTIONS:
1)CWM RECOVERY preferred
2) Flash via recovery
3) Aroma installer; In Device select I9505 & for kernel use imperium &the rest I'd your preference.
4) 1st boot drag sprint voicemail app to app info and clear data &disable.Then go to phone app settings and set your ph# for voicemail & save. Once save Enable Sprint voicemail app and set it up it will download all avatars.
5) Go to APN app and activate the last APN back out and reboot. Data sometimes take awhile to appear.
FIXES: added Sprint apn's.Config.xml, speaker Volume increased, Sprint lib files to fix sms mms, build.prop edits, replaced several frameworks to fix signal bar and in call dialer (thanks to JDS3118)
APPS ADDED: APN shortcut app, s4 music Commonutility.Apk(fix sound picker for ring tones etc. , Themed S4 camera by: metaphysical _ calamity, compatible S5 Sec mms & Sectelephony.provider to fix mms, and sprint Visual voicemail

Just flashed it with kt twrp working perfectly waiting on app download will restart to test Apn. Voice mail provisioned on start up but took your steps anyway.
Edit: everything is working not in area for lte but 3g connected

Did you follow the instructions for data. If so, try go in apn app enter bearer and toggle between lte save go back in and select unspecified and save. Go to mobile network select lte/cdma then toggle mobile data on and off.

S Health
So out of everything I have tested, everything is working great. But I did notice that when you start S Health it shows the welcome screen but you never can click the Next button to get past it. If I update it to the latest version from the Samsung store same story. And if I restore my Titanium Backup of S Health it just gets stuck on the green start up screen when trying to run S Health.

In the apn app delete the Sprint - LTE and create a new one. That worked for me

Same here but it was working fine last night prior to the update I did this morning. I think the update messed it, up could be wrong though

You're right. It was working fine until the update from the samsung store. I tried to copy the libs and apks from a different ROM to get S Health to work but I think I made it worse I will go back to the original apk for S Health and just not update

You're right. It was working fine until the update from the samsung store. I tried to copy the libs and apks from a different ROM to get S Health to work but I think I made it worse I will go back to the original apk for S Health and just not update

Well unfortunately it didn't. I have the spark version but I'm going to try 1 more step. Hopefully it works because I really like the rom lol

Rooted, I hide the magisk, and add the app on the denylist.

Yeah, it's probably that setting. Go to the app -> App Info -> Permissions -> Privacy/Get Device Info. Have it to allowed and it should work
