Finally A Working Android DIVX player

Here it is folks, on the market, yxflash, Check it out!
Its about time!

Believe i had this running on my 2g iPod touch. Currently doesn't playback videos smoothly, but hey, it's a start ^_^

didn't seem to work!

Worked for me, but some pauses in places and lag on the DivX moivie I tried. UI very rough. Pause/Play only in portrait mode. No menu options either while playing. Not worth paying for yet...more of a beta version.
Doooh....pauses after 2 mins because not registered! Still, UI needs work!

works fine with some glitches but 15$ for full version is insane
i'll stick with my encoding my videos

how you get full version ? i havent tried this yet ... anyway besides this does anyone know when there will be an actual divx player available or is this the only one there is etc

It's still pretty poor! Very laggy and crashes occasionally.

I couldn't see it either when searching on Market, but it did come up when I searched for "divx"...
go figure...

Can anyone tell me wot the performance of this app is like on the HTC HERO? Can it play the standard 700MB movies you get off the net. 512x384 resolution etc or do you have to convert it to a lower res?

I thought something had finally come around that works when you resurrected this thread and I saw "finally a working divx...".
This player is aweful and you'd be best sticking to converting your videos.

full version doesn't work well too... still need improve before it can start charging. i done a crack for testing as request. it seem buggy & doesn't support all divx format. please do support paid version if you think the apps worth your $$.

On a similar theme, can anyone recommend a decent wmv player?
Or more info on iPhone/Zune/mp4 compatibility of the Hero?

what does you app do? is it just a streaming site client?

I thought it relied on flash support? If so, it no work ie until flash for honeycomb is available.

Not exactly.
I dont want to advertise the aplication here and thast why i didnt say a description, but basically the aplication searchs over internet for tv-shows links capables to be played directly on your device, with full screen support using megavideo, frogmovz, karambavidz and other hosting services. The search results are shown in a intuitive and easy to use interface.

You are right, my mistake, i thught it was already availeable. So I will have to wait a bit more, thanks for the information.
Maybe I should close the thread and re-open it after flash has been released.

The app is now starting up, looks, and runs great. I've been waiting for this! Android 2.2~ version on my Droid X is amazing. Just waiting for Flash...

Just tried it out on both my Xoom and Captivate.
I am pretty sure things are working on the Captivate as they should, so used that as a guide. Hehe Test videos played through each host, low Res, but no issues.
OK.. on the Xoom the UI seems fine and works. Problems come up when playing the videos. When playing a Megavideo link the MV interface comes up with no player controls, nothing else happens. When trying Frogmovz or Karambavids.. I get a black screen with no video controls. Touching the center of the screen has triggered play/pause, but I just seem to get audio and no video is shown.
I tried out playing Megavideos through their website and that worked fine for me.

Hi,
The same problems have been reported by using unoficial flash version on htc evo. The solution was uninstall flash and reinstall from market.
Are you using the leaked version of flash 10.2 right?
It should be availeable on 18th on android market for all devices and it should fix the sound with no video issue.

I have a paid for version of TV Shows Stream, it works on my Nexus One thanks very much for that. I admit that I probably never use it, but I like it and it works most of the time.
I have a Xoom, with v3.0.1 and the leaked Flask 10.2 APK. At this time, flash content via the stock browser seems to work fine but TV Shows Stream does not seem to work properly. All browsers come up with a blank window more or less, I tried a few megavideo and karambozworths.

Yes, it works great on the Nexus One but on the Xoom with the leaked 10.3 flash you can hear the sound but no video. Hope you get it working because it would be great to watch it on a larger screen!

I probably wouldn't be too concerned for now as the leaked version is having issues in other browsers as well. I'm not sure if that'd be because they don't see the leaked version or what... but as with the others, the app works fantastically on my Droid X but has no Video or Audio for the Xoom running the leaked Flash 10.2
Ill update again when its officially released March 18th and reinstalled.

TV Shows Stream full is my fav app and I use it daily on my Droid X with no issues. Cannot wait for xoom compatibility which as previously mentioned should be resolved when the official flash file is available on market March 18 if I read correctly. I will def uninstall the leaked file and load the official 10.2 release and report back on its usuability on my xoom. Great app btw dev. -

I have the Flash leak for my Xoom and I concur the app opens and you can see the list of shows but just cannot play the video (or see the video controls), just a blank screen.
However, I emailed myself a link for a show (from within your app) and then opened the link in the email with my broswer. The video played fine with no problems. Thus I assume when the official Flash 10.2 is released this week we will be able to load the video from right within the app - as I do on my Droid X.
BTW -great app - best money spent on an app. Keep up the awsome work

I use the TV shows application all the time on my xoom. Right now u just have to email yourself the link for the video you want to play. I copy and paste the link in dolphin hd browser. Just make sure dolphin hd is in desktop mode. I doing this I can stream video fine, thanks for the great app also I have the leaked version of flash installed.

Is a usefull workaround but we have the intention to offer a better solutions.
We are almost sure that with the official release of flash player will work as it works most of devices, but we are already working in alternative solutions.
We have already a working solution in some video servers, karambavidz and Loombo (loombo will be added in next update) will have an option for watching the videos using any of the player you have installed on the phone, even native android player. FastForward and RW completelly working and very smooth playback, as not flash player will be used on those videos. More info soon, we are hard working right now on it.

Yes Haze, I've got the paid version and the behavior is the same. On the Xoom, the leaked version was 10.2.155.67 and todays version is 10.2.166.12 so I suspect very minor changes.

In the next update, Karambavidz video links will be able to be watched in the native android player or any other player , without the need of flash player.
You can also email yourself the link and open it with the dolphin HD broser as a temporary workaround, it has been reported to work fine.
We are working on it , thanks for the testing time.

The new ICS beta-3 ROM

I would like to list few problems that i encounter after flashing the ICS-beta3 ROM through nvflash to my dell streak 7...
1. on press the wake button, before unlocking if i press the wake button again, the tablet freezes.
2. Titanium backup doesnt seem to work
3. bluetooth doesnt work properly
4. trebuchet doesnt work if the persistent search bar is turned off
5. LED too doesnt seem to work
6. few apps seem to ve lost compatibility
All said... DJ_Steve et al are doing an highly commendable job... thanks guys!
People do share your experience with the new ROM, any bugs, cool features, work-arounds....

Netflix does not stream video, just audio

also my .wma files are not being played by the music player any more and the power led doesnt work too

Tried it today, looks promising. Interface is pretty and seems a lot faster and more responsive than honeycomb. I switched back to honeycomb only because video playback was choppy. Something to look forward to for sure.
Mad props to DJ_Steve and other people who are contributing.

As for the video thing use a app called mobo player get fro the market it's free and if you run in it you tell it run the video file in soft-decode mode. And the video and audio is great. No Mater what kind of encoded file I give to pplay.

indeed the build in action is snappy.

[Q] Can't play video received from an iPhone 3g

Yes I've read other post and havent found a solution
I'm running stock with the ICS update and can't see videos sent to me via MMS (I use GoSMS but same result using stock app) from an iPhone 3g (before and after the ICS update). I have tried multiple video players, contacted HTC customer service (waste of time) and still nothing.
This really pisses me off because my Mom takes care of my son and sends me cute videos and I cant see them!
Has anyone found a solution to this that doesn't include taking my Moms phone and driving over it?

Awh man :-/. I'm guessing it might be file incompatibility. You tried a ton of different media players though... maybe try sending them to your email and seeing them from the computer. Or make an email (or some kind of online storage) account for you and your mom to share. Then store them on it, so you both have access to the files.

Thanks but I've already tried this player with no luck.
I don't receive an error message. I just tap the video, it opens my video player and closes.
With stock video player I can sometimes hear the sound but I can't see images or it opens and closes.
On the mms message im able to see a still image of the video (sometimes) and the video player displays this still while just playing the sound (sometimes). During all this I'm not able to fast forward the video and no time lapse info is displayed?.

What I sometimes have her do is just upload the video to Facebook, but it's just so much easier and faster to send an mms.

thats basically what I got when I tried it.. Ill get the mms and it will play the sound.. but no video. From what I read its just incompatible with the iphones .mov(mp4) format..
Thats one of the reasons I bailed on apple was because of all the proprietary bull****

Some videos don't play

I have a problem. Some kind of videos from internet just dont play. Some play like 1 sec and then stops. Other kind of videos just play well. This happens in facebook browser, chrome and also one cinema app that i have installed. Tried to install firefox and the videos play well.
This happens in an xperia z3c D5803 lollipop 23.1.A.1.28 with xpoded.
Can anyone help me figure out whats the problem and how to fix it. It's a little bit anoying to wait to get in the pc to see some videos.
PS: Already tried to disable all xposed modules and the problem still there.

See if it helps to disable "Use NuPlayer (exp.)" in developer options, I noticed it's enabled by default in Lollipop but since it's experimental, maybe it can cause issues?

i have that option disabled. just enabled and the videos in the cinema app just are working fine. the ones in the FB browser and Chrome still stops. (i just figured that in Chrome if i ask the pc page, the videos work fine).

You could try UC Browser, in my experience it has the widest support for webvideos and the player it uses is quite advanced, too.

I know that I have alternatives. I am just trying to figure out what is the problem to try to solve it. Cause in other phones I don't face this problem
