(Official CM11 nightlies) - Is wifi tether broken or just me? - Sprint HTC One (M7)

I'm trying to decide if I need to full wipe or not, so just looking for a couple of people to confirm a bug (or not). If I can avoid a full wipe and chalk this up as a broken feature that's going to get worked out soon, then I'm fine.
Can't get wifi tethering to work on Official CM11 nightlies. Anyone else experiencing this? It DOES seem to be working for at least 1 unofficial CM11 ROM here on XDA, but I'd like to stick with the nightlies. As I said, just trying to determine if I'm just the exception, which a full wipe might fix. Or if this is a common bug to be worked out - in which case I'll just sit tight.

I'm having the same issue.

NC CM7 Wifi Issues/Switching to Stable

I rooted my NC about a month ago with the latest CM7 nightly. Everything was working great until last night when my wifi completely stopped working. It is not picking up any wifi networks at all. I've seen that this has been a problem with others.
Can anyone point me in the direction of instructions on what I need to do to fix this. i.e. how to flash back to a stable version.
I'm not as savvy in this sort of thing as a lot of other people on here are. I just can't figure out how to go back to a stable version to hopefully fix the wifi. Do I need to wipe the NC clean? What is the best way to fix this?
Thanks a lot!

Broken Wi-Fi

Hey guys, since yesterday my milestone doesn't find any Wi-Fi network. Any ideas ?

Did you drop it or something?
I've actually had this problem quite frequently with 2.3 based roms, most notably with the SteelDroid rom.
The only way I could ever get wifi re-enabled was to mess around with bringing it up and down. All I can suggest it to keep persisting with turning it off and on and you should get it back sooner or later, at least that's what my endeavors have shown.
I believe it's a wifi driver issue since the problem doesn't exist for me when I fall back to 2.2 based roms. If I run into the issue again, I'll post a logcat of for it and hopefully that will help someone who know's more about this to help you. If you could provide a logcat, that would be even better.
In 2.3-based roms I usually had to switch Wi-Fi several times to make it work, while in some Froyo-based roms I had to reboot (also on few 2.3 roms that use older kernel).

CM 10.2 Nightly

I flashed my device the other week with the nightly build of cm-10.2-2013-12-02 and it is fantastic. Not only does it get twice the battery life the thing is so much more responsive and fluid, however (yes there is a however), the WiFi does not always cooperate. It will show it is connected but the browser or anything that uses a connection will not receive anything. If I disable the WiFi then the phone uses its data with no issues at all. Of course there are limits to data use so the WiFi is much needed. Does anyone have a .zip of the 03,04,05,06 cm10.2 builds? Unfortunately now that cm11 is being rolled out the nightly releases of 10.2 are nowhere to be found. I was hoping hat maybe one of these later releases fixed the issue.

[Q] need recommendation on rom, looking for built in USB tether

Hi, there. Basically just spent all of last night slaving away trying to fix my phone only to make everything progressively worse, and all of this morning having someone (thank you, BD619!) help me fix it, all because of me trying out some new roms.
Anyway i'm looking for something with a built-in tether that works off of USB (my laptop's wifi is broken). And having something with working GPS is pretty important for me too. I was on CM10.2 previously and the USB tether worked fine, but i couldn't get the GPS to work right for the life of me. And Viper's rom is the one that essentially sent me into non-stop boot loop mode, so that's out of there as far as what i'm willing to try.
I have tried other variations of CM like PA and slim, but i'd always end up having some kind of issues with the broadband or GPS. Others didn't even plain install. FWIW before today i did not have s-off, but now i do.
Would greatly appreciate any advice here. Please let me know if this is in the wrong section. Thanks

Confused with Lollipop builds! Please help me select..

Hi. Currently I am on jcsullins CM11-20141002 Kitkat build. I plan on upgrading to Lollipop but I am confused between the 3 builds (invisiblek-cm12, flintman-evervolv and milaq-cm12).
I frequently use the browser, YouTube and Skype (audio only) on my TP, amongst other apps. Could someone please help me select the right build? TIA.
Bump..

I am using a recently installed Evervolv build in which everything I have tried on mine seems to be working. I have used the browser a bit. Skype runs but I haven't used it on the TP yet. On my machine it seems fine but slower that the early Jan build I put in before.
I did a friends machine with the default partitions, he did not have the OEM USB and use a thinner aftermarket he had. It installed but there were various problems.
- no camera detected
- Google play does not offer updates to the core apps (as it did on mine) as it should
- Gmail won't launch at all
I don't know if its a partition issue or corruption from the cable used. It was a complete reset and wipe of the system with WebOS gone. I didn't have time to do it all again and will look at it another time I ma down.
@Tripple-c Thanks. I think I'll go with invisiblek's CM12 build as by his post only the camera is broken. I can live with that for now. I need the mic to work which is still not 100% in Evervolv going by flintman's post.

That issue you discribed above would only happen if you did a dirty install and didn't install gapps. The newer version backs up gapps so you only have to install. I recommend a clean install(factory reset and format system) to get the camera to detect the only way and then reinstall with gapps use the newest nightly.

Is there a reason to update to Lollipop besides wanting to test it out? I think Lollipop itself has a lot of issues lingering that Google still needs to fix.

Well, if you look at it that way.. There was no reason for me to upgrade to KitKat! I think I just like my devices to be updated

It's all cool. There's no harm in that. But Android 4.1 to 4.4 was fairly mild and incremental. Lollipop was a hefty change in concept and usage. I tried it on my N7 2013, and it was just harder to use. Buttons were smaller and closer together, more taps and swipes just to do something, etc. It feels like they compromised ease of use just to adhere to the material design. Seriously made me consider going to an Apple product. No joke!
