LG Quick Window case and Otterbox 360 screen protector photos - LG G Flex

Afternoon all!
Here are a couple of shots of the LG Quick Window case on the device. With the Quick WIndow case, my only complaint is that the phone will no longer balance on it's side like it can without a case. That really isn't a huge drawback. Unlike the Samsung Flip Covers, this does actually provide protection to the back of the device but is by no means going to save your phone from a bad drop.
I have also already installed the Otterbox 360 screen protector. In my opinion, it looks and feels superior to the Invisible Shields from Zagg. It is nearly invisible except for the cutouts at the top for the mic, proximity sensor, and front facing camera. It does not appear to discolor (I've had it on the G2 for months) which is one of the few complaints I have with the Invisible Shield. The installation of the Otterbox is significantly more difficult than the Invisible Shield though. It is a dry install, but the protector likes to slip when initially lining it up with the screen. The provided squeegee is not wide enough either. I actually used an Invisible Shield squeegee for the installation. If you get it on correctly, there should be a minimal amount of bubbles that will dissipate as you touch them similar to an Invisible Shield.
Had the Otterbox 360 not been available, I would have selected the Invisible Shield so I don't want to knock it too much. You can't beat the ease of getting warranty replacements with them and the overall ease of installing the Dry series.
If anyone has any questions please let me know. I have access to the Otterbox(es) as well which can actually flex to a degree with the device.
Lastly, I work for Sprint. I know most don't disclose this but I am required to under our Code of Conduct. My opinions are my own and should not reflect on Sprint in any way.

Yes as of Friday the 7th, and yes tri band spark capable. Only the flex and some Samsung are spark capable so far
Sent from my LG-LS995 using xda app-developers app

actually the htc one max is tri band/spark as well..I know this because I have one..I also believe the LG G2 is tri band..

I work for Sprint and got the Flex today and decided to go with the Otterbox Commuter case. The quick window looked nice but for $15 more you don't get any protection. I normally like using screen protectors and the Otterbox 360 ones are real nice but compared to the Zagg Dry installs, I find the Otterbox one is harder to install with no dust and aligned properly. I think its a result of them covering the areas that are cutout on the actual shield with the handles.
I will try to post some pictures tomorrow of the phone in the Commuter tomorrow. Overall, its a nice case and real easy to hold in the hand. The bulk isn't too excessive in my eyes.

Pretty sure it's the LG Folio case. All carriers have it well not Verizon since they don't have the Flex. lol T-Mobile has 25% off but they don't have the case locally yet. Sprint does so if anyone knows how I can save some $ on the Window Folio case let me know.
thanks

I just got the quick window case and I love it.
So much better then the S-View case for the Note 3.
Fits perfectly and doesnt add much bulk at all.

I tried the window case today at a Sprint store. Really nice case. I might have got it if the cover stayed closed but I just don't think I like cover cases. I decided to get the Otter Box 360 so I can still see her curves. hehe I have 4 dogs so it's hard to find a clean area at my house so I had the Sprint rep install it on my T-Mobile Flex. lol He did a pretty good job. A few bubbles but should go away with time. Phone isn't as slippery and that was my only issue with the Flex. I wish they would have just cut the front of the screen protector below the speaker and camera all the way across though. I have a few cheap Amazon cases coming but not sure if I'll even use them now.

Friends if you are looking for a screen protector for LG then why not try Screen-Protector-GEARMAXX-Ultra-Clear-
This one is really a cool stuff.

Bionic Accessories at Launch?

These are the accessories I find absolutely vital for my Droid 1, and hence I'm really hoping we get for the Droid Bionic:
Car Dock - I think Motorola's been pretty good about these, right? But I know some Android devices don't get these right away (Nexus One), but I definitely need one of these from the get-go.
Holster - Dunno about everyone else, but my Droid 1 is too big for a pocket, and I've always preferred the holster for it's ability to cover both sides of my phone when I'm not using it. So this is a must for me as well.
Not sure if I'd ever get a media dock, because removing the case to put it down is just too much of a hassle. For the Car Dock it's worth the effort for usability, but I just don't see it for the media dock. Might as well just plug it in with a cable.
I'll post once I have an official list.

Sweet, a holster. Do you walk around with a bluetooth headset in your ear all the time and call everyone "shooter" and "guy" too?
Sent from my ERIS using Tapatalk
No, lol. But the holster's convenient when I use the phone more than anything else during the course of the day.

Do you wear tights or size small jeans? The droid 1 is very tiny; especially compared to the newer devices out there (Atrix, DroidX, etc)
Skinomi Skins
If you like protecting your phones from scratches you can pre-order these. I know I am going to.

I would post my own URL. But apparently I am a new user again.
Here is a sample shot of the TPU-Cases matte black flexible TPU case for the updated Bionic form factor:

We've actually had cases ready for the Bionic for about 4 months already. Since motorola changed the form factor we had to throw the old ones away Live and learn I suppose.. next time we won't have a mold made so far before launch!
I've held off on buying a case yet because I bought the dock. The dock is being shipped as well as the phone (ordered both this morning) so I'll need to wait to see them before I decide on anything..

As much as I like the docks, If it means you cant use a case thats pretty much a deal breaker for me. Would be so easy for them to include a removable insert like iGrip does so the docks could be used with or without a case. Hopefully they'll come around eventually.
When I ordered over the phone I chose a silicone case and screen protectors.
Then I realized that the Bionic has gorilla glass so no need for protectors. I also forgot that it didn't have a kickstand like my Thunderbolt. So today I walked in and bought their $29.99 Holster/Kickstand. I was told by the store rep that I could bring the case and protectors into the store for a credit.

I hear that a lot, "the phone has gorilla glass so it doesn't need a screen protector". My experience with gorilla glass is that it can and will scratch. Seems like every iPhone I see is scratched to crap. I guess its a bit stronger then normal glass but it's definitely not scratch proof.

It all depends upon the user. I had my DROID since drop day and never once scratched the glass. I used screen protectors for all of 3 weeks, then gave up on them.
I'm betting that I won't need them for the BIONIC either....
You can use the media dock with ext battery and hard case

MPERO IMPACT X Series Kickstand Case for LG G Flex LS995 D950 D959 - Glow in the Dark Green
MPERO FLEX S Series Protective Case for LG G Flex LS995 D950 D959 - Magenta
CASE FORMERS Duo Armor BLACK for LG G Flex Combo Case with Stand
Incipio Dualpro Shine Case for LG G Flex - Retail Packaging - Silver/Black
Incipio is nice, but the inner rubber sleeve is a little loose, so there is some sag on the side when the out layer gets squeezed on; this happens to all the multi layer cases, since the curve in the center of the phone sort of gets "pinched" when the out layer gets pressed on.
The Mpero glow in the dark is great; sort of like an Otter box defender type protection, without all the port covers, and has the cool factor of glowing in the dark. the stand is great, and this will probably be the case I keep on when I go out and about, since I have been known to drop my phone, and this guys has super thick edges on it, so it will definitely survive a drop. Also, has a great kickstand, that actually holds the curved phone stable, both in vertical and horizontal states.
The Mpero Flex S will probably be my everyday case; very thin, sleek, a slight lip to protect the screen when face down, and adds no real bulk to the phone. Nice grip edges along the sides to help you hold it securely.
Probably my least favorite is the Case-formers; very bulky, inner rubber case gets really pinched in the center of the phone curve, but the worst thing is the small, flimsy stand, that doesn't securely support the phone in vertical or horizontal mode. Don't bother with this one..
Wished the mpero had a black case looks good but i dont like the clear cases.

Not sure if you like the silicone cases, but I've had the Verizon "High Gloss Silicone Cover" that has protected my phone for the past ~1.5 years. I didn't have the case originally, and when the phone was 3 days new, i dropped it 1.5 feet and it cracked the screen. After I got a new one and this case, it has protected it from dozens of drops and makes the phone barely thicker.

Meanwhile I have the spigen armour case on and it pretty much protects my phone from any kind of fall, for example I work in construction and was working on a 5 floor apartment.... I was on the roof and tried to take my phone out of my pocket and next thing you know it, it slipped from my hand and fell all the way down to the pavement. Luckily I had this case on and viola like nothing happened my phone was protected and worki g like a charm. But anyways I'm looking for a case that has 3 buttons on the back to cover the 3 buttons on the back like in the picture. Thanx anyways for your suggestion

Setting that you're in construction I definitely suggest the defender case. You can pop out the screen protector and out on a super thin one it even a super thin glass protector and it'll maintain rigidity.
Spigen + tempered glass

I recommend the Trident Cyclops case - it comes with a built in screen protector, but that can be easily removed. I am using a tempered glass screen protector with the Cyclops. It does not have buttons for the back, but it is hugely protective. Check out the videos on youtube - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tAE9MiOPN80

Bought Nillkin frosted shield for 10 euros (comes with a screen protector). Had the same one for my old Nexus 4 but it was in white and got dirty. Quality is great otherwise, feels good in hand.
Mine is the black one on a white G2.

Usually never rock cases on my phones but when I heard this phone was gonna have a glass back and after owning an iPhone that had a cracked glass back due to a drop I ordered a case for my S6 when I got home from T-Mobile lol.
Got a Spigen Ultra Hybrid case on the phone. Slim, clear, cheap and offers a fair bit more protection. Not bulky at all like some of those otterbox cases which are just too much for me.

A metal back ? Where do they sell those lol.
Try to avoid too much metal on the case if you want good reception, also a metal case would pretty much nix wireless charging for you if you use that.
I don't know if the S6 is that different in terms of the wireless radio signal's penetrating power, but my iPhone 4's glass back was broken and replaced with a metal back piece and worked fine.

I think the bigger problem is that your screen is painted over in white and also has a camera/heart rate monitor in the middle of it. The back of your phone is not the screen!:good:

+1 Besides all that a hard plastic shell protects much better than metal. Ill never under stand the want for "premium" builds, they just crack, dent and conduct electricity better. I have seen more cracked and dented premium built iphones than all android phones put together. Seriously everybody I know who has a iphone has had a damaged iphone at one time. Im getting a case on this phone the second I get it which pretty much makes that premium build nothing but a bragging right. That is a stupid thing to brag about if you ask me.

It is called "glass." Corning did not break his phone. We're his phone made of normal glass, the results would have been worse.
Luckily, T-mobile forces you to get jump for the first month. You're out $175, but at least you can get a new phone.
The glass is very strong.
The problem with glass is the stronger you make it by tempering the more likely it will fail, sometimes explosively, when that "pent up" tension is suddenly released! How does it happen? All it takes is a strike or stress to the edge. Strikes to the face with blunt objects won't do it. It can take an incredible amount of abuse. So how do you prevent this from happening? A case, even a thin one, will work wonders. When it's dropped even a thin TPU will absorb this sharp shock that the glass would receive when struck on its edge. Of course a face down drop onto gravel allowing a stone to strike the glass on the edge will still cause it to break when it hits right. And Mister Murphy will ensure this just as a cat always lands on its feet...
Even a bumper will offer protection from edge impacts. Unfortunately you have to cover things up for a more rounded real life solution.
Sorry boutcha bro.. Case it up. I ordered the Case Mate clear case that T-Mobile has in store at $34.99 for $18 on Amazon. Got it today and its like its not even on, super thin and clear with metal buttons. I HIGHLY recommend it. At least it's SUPER EASY to replace the back cover, like 5 minutes if that..

Nice case! Is it slippery or does it have good grip? Is it easy to take off and do you think it would damage the leather from taking off and on? Thanks.
Grip wise, it can stick on your hand. For my plastic cover its easy. Not sure for leather. Well its definitely feel more secure than bare cover.

That's the one I ordered. Can't wait to try it.
Amazon says it IS compatible with leather, anyone try it yet?
Thanks for posting, I just bought an Incipio case at Sprint, but don't like the way the edges look. I may end up getting this one instead, since Spigen's Amazon page says their cases don't work with the Leather G4.

Did the screen protector fit perfectly? Did it come with one or two?

Thank you for the review and for the pictures/feedback. I ordered one as well.
Thanks for sharing the pics. I ordered this case along with a tempered glass protector. Can't wait to receive them!
Is there a lanyard cut out like the previous fusion cases?

Yes, for lanyards or charms.
How well do you think this will protect from a drop? Like say, 4 feet onto cement?
Btw, great idea having your kid do the presentation. Make sure to tell her, great job!

I've just got this case today, and to be honest I'm not impressed, to me it looks cheap and spoils the overall look of the phone, the dust caps are a pain to open and keep trying to spring back to the closed position (might be better with use). On the plus side it fits fine with the leather back and shows it off, and should offer decent protection.
Pity it looks cheap and bulks up an already big phone even further.
I got this case as well - it looks great, I like that it has rubbery sides and plastic back - makes the phone feel more secure when I'm holding it or if its in the car mount,
The only thing I didn't like is that the case was so tight it was hard to fit on the phone (I have the plastic/white ceramic G4) and the dust cap for the headphone jack wasn't fitting correctly and useless really so I cut it off and ordered a pack of clear ones off ebay

I shared the same concern, but was able to get it to 'slip' into the proper slot. I think these are meant to stay well tucked in, in order to prevent dust slipping by. It works fine now that I've learned how to secure the plug-ins.
I got this case too. It's made of very good materials and I think it gives good protection all around, but I don't like much how the phone looks like with the case on. I could live with it if it wasn't soooo tight. It's very hard to put it on, and even harder to take it off (the back door gets stuck to the case). I was gonna keep it, but I'm afraid I could damage the leather when trying to take it off, so I'm going to return it. I decided to have my phone naked with a tempered glass screen protector, and I purchased one of those universal waterproof pouches that I'll use when going to the beach.
