How to enable Sense with Nova launcher - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So there a way to enable Sense using Nova launcher?

no, you need to use the inbuilt sense launcher. Nova is not sense..

Sorry... I meant to say blink feed. I saw someone here who figured out how to bring up blinkfeed with Nova launcher.

From nova launcher, tap on the screen and choose create shortcut, then activities, then htc sense. It will just be a shortcut of the blinkfeed. Just delete any other pages. You can also set a gesture in nova launcher like double tap to bring you directly to blinkfeed.

Under activities I do not see Sense. I don't see it under Nova neither.

how do i enable the cube like scrolling for the app menu?
If you are talking about the 3D app drawer, you may need the stock 2.1 launcher, ADW Launcher, or LauncherPro (or other launchers that might have it; I'm not sure of others). Do you have any of those?
i have launcher pro
Go to the LauncherPro settings by hitting menu on the homescreen and go to Preferences > Advanced Settings > check Use 3D drawer
I know this is an old thread but it's perfect for my question. I'm using ADW (on the AOSP Spaceman ROM) and would like to enable the 3D drawer. How would I go about doing that?
Google....adw launcher

ADW Launcher layer widget

I'm using ADW Launcher,
But is there an App that i can put widgets on the foreground or background? So they'll overlay each other?
Im not sure about adw but adw ex lets you overlap widgets. Its built in, you need to activate it in the settings.

I would like to know as well since I am using ADW. I'm trying to create this effect with Analog Clock and minimalistic text.

[Q] System widgets on Launchers?

Is there anyway to put the memo widget onto Nova Launcher? I like this widget because you can actually swipe up and down to change pages.
It seems like widgets that have the swipe action can't load. Is there any other third party memo widget that have this swipe action?

You can't as these widgets require some of the LG stuff.

Nova Launcher lockscreen

Hi,
using Nova Launcher I configured Icons on the bottom quick launch tray.
On Lockscreen the icons are still the ones configured for the sense launcher.
They change only after unlocking the phone.
Any ideas?

You have to go back to the sense launcher first and do it that way, once back on nova launcher they will show up on lock screen.

It's because the lockscreen is being controlled by sense and your home screen by Nova. Two different beasts

Ok.
Installed Home Switcher,
changed to Sense Launcher,
configured Quicklaunch same as Nova Settings
changed back to Nova.
Experience is now not the same but quite similar.
But didn't understand: Why is the lockscreen always sense and not Nova???
Because you have just put a launcher on the phone and not done anything to your lockscreen you are still using the sense lockscreen so it will be based on sense still.

Nova isn't a lockscreen, its a launcher
Get Holo Locker to get the stock lockscreen for Nova.
OK, hope to understand: lock screen is one app, launcher another?
But shouldn't it change to Nova launcher when using a quicklaunch icon then?
The behaviour I see is that using a quicklaunch icon from lockscreen starts sense launcher,
Back button stays in sense. Lock and Unlock again is sense. Changes to nova
first time i press Home. Could call it a feature: Can easily get blinkfeed under nova
this way

those five icons on your lock screen are just shortcuts that mirror the five icons on your SENSE launcher. So regardless of what icons you have there using NOVA launcher, the lock screen will still show what's on the SENSE launcher.
So if you want to change the icons there, go back to using the sense launcher and change the five icons to the ones you want, then go back to using nova.
lockscreen widget issue
I have a galaxy s4 verizon, rooted, running gummy rom, launcher3 is preset in the rom and I downloaded Nova launcher. There is a yahoo weather widget on my lockscreen that I cannot find any settings for in either launcher or rom settings. It is registering temp in celsius and I need farenheit, haha. Any suggestions? Thanks

Which launcher is everyone using?

I used the touch wiz launcher originally, but want to try the google now launcher. But now none of my apps show up. Am I better off starting over from scratch with a factory reset?
Which launcher are you using?
I am using nova.
Assuming you did not disable the TW launcher, go to setting...scroll down to applications and select. When that menu pop up, look to your upper left corner you will see three dots going down...click it. Choose default applications, than you will see the option to choose your default home screen under "set as default".

I like Apex, but it was becoming difficult to tell what themes, icons, launcher would stick. I'd fix one thing and something else would vanish, got tired of that. So I found a theme from the Theme Store and now I can stand looking at Touchwiz!!

The Google launcher works fine as long as you don't set up the secure folder, after that is done all the apps disappear from the app drawer...

I am currently using Nova Launcher Prime. Also have Apex Launcher Pro Installed and running in my Note 7 as just in case.
There are reasons that I am not using TouchWiz UX (Grace) Launcher nor Chrome Now Launcher as you will see below:
Here are a 4 Home Launchers that I didn’t choose to stay with after testing with the Note 7
Google Now Launcher – Way too limited. Didn’t transferred the app icons to the App Drawer. So I can’t even copy the Phone Dialer icon over to the Apps Dock. Disappointed since I was wishing to truly integrate Google vanilla experience to the Note 7.
Go Launcher Z – They only allow you to use their Widgets and no third party Widgets. WHAT!!! No Go! They also are getting into Ads and charging lots to get rid of ads (GO Launcher Super v i p price $19.99 (45% off the full price). Go Launcher Prime is $5.99 which I have.
ADW Launcher 1 (New) – Getting less customized and more Google material style. For an example I like transparent App Drawer. The new ADW Launcher only gives you colors like 90s websites for the background in the App Drawer. I used to love ADW, but they are now going backwards.
TouchWiz UX (Grace) - Very lagging, no default access to Live wallpapers, you can't see some of your icons in landscape mode, etc. I really tried to stay with TouhWiz UX. The one thing that turned me to another home launcher is that I am tired of having to go portrait mode to select apps when I am already in landscape mode.
There are serious enough problems with TouchWiz UX to give good reason for the power user to switch home launchers. TouchWiz UX is lagging, no default access to Live wallpapers, you can't see some of your icons in landscape mode, etc. We can get around that with a custom home launcher like Nova Launcher, Apex Launcher, etc. I found that both Nova Launcher and Apex Launcher doesn't get in the way of Samsung's features. Meaning both of these home launchers allow all Samsung features to work within these launchers on Note 7.
Personally I don’t like "3D" home launchers. Which is the reason I didn’t try them with Note 7.
Recommendation Note:
I recommend trying either Nova Launcher or Apex Launcher. Both worked wonderfully with Note 7 and provide much customization. Nova Launcher is the first one I would try out only because of the third party customization for the Nova Launcher.
I use HomeSmack to switch between home launchers. Works flawlessly with Note 7.

Not sure what you mean by "...can't see all icons in landscape mode...." for Touchwiz. I don't remember Touchwiz rotating to landscape on the home screen. One reason I've not liked it since about donut or was it gingerbread?
Nova Prime here as well.
Nova Prime, but might try AL3 ( Action Launcher ) down the road...
Nova Prime here as well
