Hello Guys,
After searching all around I have not been able to find a solution for my problem. I am streaming video to youtube live, the problem is the phone shows 640x368 as the available resolution and youtube asks for 640x360 which is the standard resolution, and therefore rejects my stream.
I have tried 2 different software for streaming, but both of them only show the available resolutions, they can not modify the picture at all.
Is there any way I could change the available camera resolutions withing the ROM?
I am using Android Revolution HD 51.0

Hi, I've search many place and unable to find any good guides for video conversion for the Acer liquid(Donut). And the User Manual don't even give full specs.
I've done many conversion of my own, however the video always lag...
~~ Please tell what is the max bitrate, best codec(mp4, h.263, etc), resolution, fps to make a video play hi quality NO frame skip/lag on the Acer Liquid(Donut)~~
Note: I understand the max quality is only as same as the video/clip you've inputed, and that the Acer only support up to 20 frame per section(at least that's what written in the user manual), and I have a good video converter btw, been using it for years...
Shalala
Alrite after playing with the video for a few more day.
I STILL don't get exactly what I wanted...and I notice alots of people viewing this thread, so I'll share what I have at the moment.
~~~Good Enough~~~
Right this moment, my best conversion is...
Video Quality Superb
File Format *.MP4
Video Codec mpeg4
Resolution original as input/ since no TV-out, it is suggest 640x480 up to 720x480.
Framrate Always try to maintain the same or near framerate as the original video clips. To see how many fram per second the original clip is...right click on the video clip and choose properties > Details > Frame Rate.
Aspect Ratio either Auto or 16:9.
Audio Quality 128 kbps
Audio Codec mpeg4aac
Channels 2 Channels Stereo
Sample Rate Varies/44100 Hz
NOTE: I can't be sure if its just my phone in particular, I've only gotten it for a week. I don't wanna think that it is my phone that don't play video perfectly. However, the setting above allow me to play full screen with no frame skips, hi quality, almost everything is perfect with 1 exception.
The frame don't skip but it seem to lagg a "LITTLE BIT"... an example, you won't see black strips or shifting from 1 scene to another, but rather.....crap i can't explain it lolz
Hi all
I want to know if someone has a working preset for encoding videos in mediacoder for galaxy s? I have looked over the threads on mediacoders forums but there seems to be only one working preset and that one is just copied settings from a 720p recording from the camera (which is not designed for viewing on the SGS because the resolution doesn't match the sgs's screen for starters). I need something that gives the best picture and sound for the least amount of space.
Hi,
I am trying to record 1280 x 720 video in a simple video recording app., targetted at the Samsung Galaxy Camera.
It is returned as an available size in Camera.getParameters().getSupportedVideoSizes();
The app works at other sizes I have tried, I really want 720 px, and would appreciate any feedback on what might be the problem.
This setting doesn't cause problems on other devices, but I haven't had a chance to hook them up to adb.
Using MediaRecorder.setVideoSize() to set this, the app starts recording video as one would expect, but with the size set to these values, on calling MediaRecorder.stop(); the app freezes and continues to record video, but neither stops nor completes the file write. I am calling the MediaRecorder like this:
mRec.setCamera(camera);
mRec.setVideoSource(MediaRecorder.VideoSource.CAMERA);
mRec.setAudioSource(MediaRecorder.AudioSource.MIC);
mRec.setOutputFormat(MediaRecorder.OutputFormat.MPEG_4);
mRec.setVideoSize(1280,720);
mRec.setVideoEncoder(MediaRecorder.VideoEncoder.MPEG_4_SP);
mRec.setAudioEncoder(MediaRecorder.AudioEncoder.AMR_NB);
mRec.setPreviewDisplay(sh.getSurface());
mRec.setOutputFile(dirPath + fileName + ".mp4");
mRec.prepare();
mRec.start();
Hi guys, I'm sorry if this has been discussed in another thread, but I've been digging into this for about 2 hours now, and found nothing. I have a backup galaxy s advance, that I recently flashed with a cm 11 rom, and I'm not sure, but I'm under the impression that before with 4.1.2 stock, I could watch 480p videos on youtube, now the maximum resolution is 360p, and it's kinda pixelated. My question is....stock, is 360p the maximum resolution supported ? Also, is there any mod/fix whatever that can force youtube to go to 480p ? From my limited knowledge a 800x480 display should be 480p compatible, but please correct me if I'm wrong I've tried to modify the pixel density from build prop, but with no effect. Any help would be much appreciated
somewhere on the internet I read that Youtube does this restriction when you use HDMI connection to the screen.
I used to have very nice HD streaming for long time but after one of the app updates it is restricted, nothing else changed. I tried even to compare how it looks on my laptop. same video is showing full hd on laptop while on android it shows 360p max.
so by the experience I have it is definitely youtube app which restricts the options!!!!!!!
On stock (and stock based roms) you can watch 480p videos.
On KitKat you can't.
But you could try alternative apps like this one for 720p videos.
ALSO you can use this module in XPOSED called YOURTUBE you can change the resolution of the playing video ( i have not used it myself but the dev has mensioned it in module info)
Thanks for the suggestions guys
My P9 somehow can't play high-framerate videos on YouTube (720p60, 1080p60).
So it decide to play best quality that is available, 480p.
The problem seem to cause by high-framerate since it play 720p30, 1080p30 just fine.
I ask others for the problem and some of them doesn't have the issues (some of them does).
Even we're running on the same P9 firmware version EVA-L19C636B168 and on the same YouTube version 11.29.53.
Anyone found the issues?
Sorry for my bad English.
With the youtube app without problems, the video starts at 480 but after some seconds when it get buffer plays at 1080p
pd. May be is possible that you must open the youtube menu (3 vertical buttons at top right) and select 1080p (or auto) in quality option.
There are no 720p60, 1080p60 in the quality option.
I also turn off Limit HD on mobile data as well.
