After 2.5 years of using this great piece of hardware, I've moved on and got myself a Moto G.
During those years, I've dropped my Mi410 multiple times, drenched it in rain and manhandled it in many ways, but it never complained and always went strong. The only time I had to use another phone was when I had messed up a flashing and soft bricked it. After Spice service centre returned it without repairing, I, with the help of this great community and some crazy experimentations got it back to life.
Also, I've been using it without a screen guard for almost 2 years and not even a single scratch on its glass. Truly amazing and it makes me wonder if all this hype about Gorilla glass is artificial. So hats off to Foxconn and all other parties involved in the hardware. It's a pity that such great hardware doesn't get the success it deserves because of lack of software support. But thanks to XDA, we could enjoy a large variety of Roms (especially MiUi )and made it a pleasure to use the phone. I was hopeful of a KK update for a while, but then decided to move on to another VFM phone.
So thanks to TjStyle and all other devs and users for sharing their work. I'll keep checking back for a KK update. Hope to see some familiar faces in Moto G forum
Congrats for Moto g.
I'm on same boat.. Got my moto g on last Saturday already upgraded to kitkat. Feeling awesome experience with KK
Had very good time with mi410, still I'll be using fih-fb0
I miss u guys
Got my Moto G also.. Using mokee KK..

Hi Friends.....
I love this forum, It made me learn a lot and made me a expert flasher ...
But our beloved device is at the end of its life.
So majority have changed their phone and shifted to other one.
So now write down which phone you bought after this ??? Why you chose it and Pro/Cons of it....... What did you do with old one(sold/Gifted/Dustbin)?
Moto g
Pro : everyone know About it
Con : not yet found
410 : still I'm using it with stock no root sharp firmware.
Moto g is a perfect replacement for mi410 with more development

Still using my fih fb0, as for daily use is still enough for me... i guess i'll stay with this device for while.. hmm moto g should be good for replacement though

The feared day has come. Last night my phone lost all usb connectivity and wouldn't charge anymore.
So it's time to depart, i will be spending the night choosing between the z1 compact and the m7 and by tomorrow I'll be off to my new thread.
I would like to thank those who followed me in my (scarce) projects and those who helped me realize them.
@laufersteppenwolf @Adam77Root @Demetris @iodak @Flying_Bear @ectoplasma22 thank you for your work and
making this a greatly respectable thread.
I'm starting to tear now, I really wish I didn't have to leave,
I even considered repairing the phone but the battery life had gotten just too frustrating
I leave behind me a small but necessary fix for the proximity sensor so I can retire happily
Thank you again guys, see you around!
;'( manly tear was shed
Thank you for taking your time to fix the proximity sensor issue, and thank you for being an extremely benefitial and helpful member of the community; people like you are the reason why I'm coming back here regularly. I wish you luck with your future device(s), and hopefully we'll meet eachother on the forum again on a next-gen flagship thread.
Take care.
See you. Good luck!
Well this is kinda end of a road for me too since i got mine S3 Neo GT I9301I couple days ago and give LG to my sister You wanted to thank all the guys on this thread and forum for helping and making this phone awesome :highfive: @Adam77Root @laufersteppenwolf @iodak @Demetris and all other people who helped developing roms for LG 4x deserve speacial thanks. Will from time to time come here and scoope what are you guys cooking here
What a coincidence
I am also leaving
I'm going to swap my phone for a Z2 .Mainly because of limiting hardware 4x HD got.The camera is horrible in dark, battery life (you already know it), I got dust under screen once again 1 week after getting it cleaned and it lets me down in daily usage.
I've had my arguements with people in here,I've made friends but in the end it was all for the good of our phone. Farewell 4x HD community
My legacy for this community are my projects (in signature). They shouldn't need any updating, if they ever do I'll do so and provide support where possible.

well, I understand you, but I think there is no phone with good price and good specs, I would prefer something like a new Elephone P7000 (metal cover + 3GB ram + manufacter custom rom support and full hd insted of nonsense 2K) but with MTK6795 instead of MTK6752 which is on-board... (it's not a bad cpu, but I want to have my next phone again about 3 years, so I always buy something a bit better than mid-end)
Let me start by saying that I am new to Motorola phones and think that the X 2014 is a smooth performing phone. I am enjoying it very much.
With that said since I'm not all together familiar with the development of Motorola phones and was wondering if the lack of Roms was typical to Motorola phones or just this one in particular?
I am by no means criticizing the Dev's and have high respect for all of them but, compared to other brands HTC, Samsung, One Plus One it just seams that development has kind of started off slowly compared to other brands.
Would like some opinions as to the development especially for a phone with a unlocked boot loader.

For example, Moto G has a lot of Roms and developers working on it. The Moto X is difficult because of the sensors and Motorola not releasing the codes for them. I used to have one (moto g) and I am not regret of my Moto X now, because the options like Moto Voice or Moto Screen are really awesome and flashing a custom ROM make the useless, besides, the stock Roms like the new 5.0.2 is incredible smooth and super fast. Just my opinion.

I appreciate your opinion, thanks.
In my opinion there are three main, practical reasons why people develop or install custom ROMs (aside from the obvious "Because it's cool and I want to" tinker factor)
1) To upgrade a phone to a newer version of Android early or after the manufacturer has abandoned support for the phone
2) To remove bloatware or restore stock features that were replaced by bloatware
3) To access fancy new features that are not included in stock Android.
Now apply these to our phone: Reason 1 is moot because Motorola has (so far) been pretty good at rolling out updates. Not as fast as a Nexus device, of course, but pretty good compared to many other manufacturers. 2 is not really a concern on our phones because the Moto X has pretty much NO bloatware... The few things that it does have are either nice feature enhancements or very small/unobtrusive. Finally, number 3 is now easily taken care of by rooting and installing the Xposed framework. I really think xposed has changed the game with regard to custom roms. You used to HAVE to go custom to get any significant feature enhancements to the OS itself... Now things that once were only found in CM or other popular roms can be added to any rooted phone. Kinda removes some of the motivation for creating a whole new ROM.
So, with all of that considered... you're really only left with the tinkerer/because I want to motivation which may not be as compelling to all developers.
Just my $0.02 though...
-Matt
Now that we have xposed I am at peace with not having so many roms.

Hey guys, I'm pretty sure no one has seen me in the G Flex section. I did work for the M8, G3 etc back in the day. I just picked up a G Flex the other day with T-Mobile excited to put Lollipop on it. Came home and searched the threads to see there isn't lollipop for it nor is there any AOSP ROMs for it. I understand the issues behind it but I just wanted to say these issues doesn't prevent ASOP running on our G Flex. There's still possibilities. I came from the ZTE Zmax, and we had 1 dev working on our phone and got CM12.1 up and running with full stability in a month. I read somewhere that LG confirmed that the G Flex will NOT get lollipop because of some issues that was causing it to be buggy. LG basically stalled development on the G Flex until the 18 months that Google gave as an requirement for Software updates was over. The 18 month period for the G Flex ended back in May. So LG basically used that as an excuse to not update our phone, which is very stupid and it sucks but we have developers in this community that are smarter than LG Devs. We don't need a kernel source to build a functional kernel, even though a source would help tremendously. The ZTE Zmax, ZTE Awe ($30 phone), LG Tribue ($40 Phone) are all running CM12.1 with no kernel source and locked Bootloaders. For sensor and Audio issues you could simply TRY and use libs from other devices that compare like the G2. That's what the dev for the ZTE Zmax did. I see development started for lollipop but ended months ago. I also see a couple people working on CM11 and others quietly working on their own CM12 build. I'm not here to criticize, because I know this kind of stuff isn't easy. I'm just simply giving advice on something that may or may not have been tried yet. It's been almost a year since lollipop launched and you would expect a Flagship device to have lollipop or at least an AOSP ROM by now. Android M is being launched in a few months. Let's get this project back up and running and don't stop until its finished! We have plenty of donators including me. If help is needed ask other experienced Devs, CM Devs, even Devs on the Android Forums. This phone has way too much potential to just forget about.
I'm already accepting that we may not get anything and gotten used to a tweaked stock rom. There's a reason cheaper phones have lollipop already, they're going to have larger user bases by default. There is really no reason to pick up a flex even under an upgrade deal when there are plenty of competing phones that already have thriving communities, and I wish I did more research before I got mine. So really it comes down to someone only picking it up to get something different and even hindered.
That said, if some crazy dev does decide to pick the phone I'll be pleasantly surprised but preaching like this forum has been for weeks now isn't going to do anything when we have no devs actively working or even looking at us. I'm really hoping I get proven wrong and I'm definitely ready to throw some money at a reputable dev but seriously now, we don't even have stable cm11 ports and people are hoping for lollipop.

That's the problem, that fact that Lollipop is almost a year old and we don't even have 4.4.4 KitKat. We're about 2 years behind. This is why I said, lets go around and recruit. There are some Devs that don't even need the device in hand to build. They build and use testers. It seems like when there are kernel related issues Devs give up because they have little to no kernel knowledge. There's ways around that. Like I said, the CM11 port may not be stable but its still silently being worked on, just not finished in the timeframe people expect. And I've seen a couple people quietly working on their own CM12 builds. CM12 is already booting, its just in the same condition as CM11, which no one figured out how to fix yet, which is Sound, Bluetooth etc. I believe this device will get Lollipop soon, but only if people are eager and motivated to get the job done.

I have my Huawei Mate 2 with lollipop. It goes for 2 days with heavy use when it had Android 4 so I'll have to see what it will do now. The reason I put it down was because the camera sucked but with the update it seems to work fine. I love the LG form factor with the power and volume buttons and even the gui is cool but I'll try the Mate 2 and see. Mate 2 has a brighter screen, but the lg has wifi calling so lots of pluses and minuses. My fried got the Mate 7. Awesome phone but he was used to the long batter of the Mate 2 so returned it.
You guys MIGHT wanna check out playfulgod's CM11 thread, all the new development from the past month has been going on there. We now have sound working!!!
The d959
Does anyone know if the latest cm11 build with sound and data for the d959 will work? Saw the multiple .zip files but none for 959 in the main thread(cm11)
Read! Reply over there BTW, more likely to get help. And he's gonna build for d959 when data works on lswhateveritscalled. Sound works on all.
I know we've all heard it before. I ditched this phone to basically get lollipop. But after a few weeks I realized what I'd been hearing since launch. I don't hold this screen right up in my face. I don't care about pixels. What I do care about? The awesome size and battery life. Mine never stutters. Forget lollipop. I'm fine with the flex the way she is. I would like to see more development. But if we get it we do and if we don't we don't. I still have an awesome and powerful phone and cm12.1 would run awesome.

This thread is a good initiative...flex forums have been so dead over the months, it pains me to see such a great phone relegated to the grave...here to help..can donate and test
For its time the Flex was a superb phone at a very good price. Plenty of ram, processing power, etc. It even had IR and a big colored led. How being much, much harder to break than a typical phone is anything but great is beyond me. So how the hell did we not get one single rom? I've seen dinky little $40/3.5in throwaway phones get at least one rom. What happened?
I wonder this as well. The flex is still my wife's phone she absolutely loves it. When it's out of its case, people still comment on how beautiful a phone it is.

What happened was LG killed us Flex users by not unlocking the BL.
Also a devicetree couldnt be brought up so it was pretty difficult to get things working.
Bump helped us at least to have a recovery and I used playfulgods CM11 with working data but no sound or calls.
then I used MIUI too for LS996 working data and sound but BT and calls were a no go.
My sister has the phone now and she absolutely loves how fluid it is and that people amaze by its rare curved design.
LG killed this magnificent phone... if someone is to blame its them.
This is a plea for all developers to come help out. I've been knocking on every door that I know, everyone else do the same. Maybe someone will help out.
I actually like this phone more than my oneplus. Just from a durability standpoint. I get more comments on my flex than my one also.
Maybe we should start a "working cm Rom bounty" thread....
I definitely would be in for paying someone for there time.
+1
Willing to contribute to the bounty.
This is a damn good phone

Yup...LG's attitude towards the G Flex is why I left a rather scathing Facebook post promising NEVER to buy anything other than a Nexus phone.
Well actually I got GFlex2 and its an amazing phone. But it seems its going the same route as gflex1 cuz of the bl locked and no custom recovery/roms. But the thing is a beast, its a trully amazing fone.
I hope this one gets better stuff. At least a cm or aosp.

I believe some of the Nexus phones are actually made by LG. :|
One of the new Nexus 2015s is made by LG. The G4 Pro also looks pretty good hardware-wise, but if you can't unlock the damn bootloader then they're definitely out of the game.
There was alot of good devs that worked on this. There is a device tree hanging around. Thing to do is yell at LG for not rls the source nor unlocking the bootlaoder. Im sure playful, justin or dfuse would be glad to help if anyone started a promising project. We where testing behind close doors for awhile but bootloader and drivers was the main issue

I'm new, really new ...... But... What does it take to unlock the boot loader? If not a break in the software, time then? After a device ages, will LG release source and such?
Behind close doors? Does that mean someone is still working on CM for this but just not updating on XDA? Or doesn't want to update here?
Thanks for posting.
No one is working on it as far as I know bump did a awesome job. But honestly every remarkable dev has tried. No disrepect to them or me lol. But the phone was forgot

It isn't even from LG. The source of the info is super sketchy and I have high doubts we will see 6.0 as well. LG2/flex are kinda EOL now. In fact with the flex 2 being shoveled onto boost as well as being given away for new sprint plans, I wouldn't be surprised is Android 6 didn't happen.
I in if there a bounty for cm12, please inform me if it will be started.
