[Q] Galaxy gear simlocked? - Samsung Galaxy Gear

Hi there,
Today I look around to buy a used gear.
I found one that is sold by a woman that say it's... Simlocked.
I wonder how this device can be Simlocked.
I have a Galaxy S4 i9505.
Can I use all Galaxy gear (regardless carrier they were sold ?
Or if they are locked, is there a way to unlock?
Thanks in advance for your reply.

You can not Sim Lock a device with no Sim card (Gear).
Yes the S4 should be able to drive the Gear.

Well, That is what I telle to myself. Seems to be logical.
Although, I don't know what seller mean when she write "The gear cames from a bundle wich is simlocked"
Shall I understand that the phone may be locked... But the gear device be completely free of any sort of lock isn't it?

I have Bell 6906 as well. The only website that was able to give me the unlock code was http://unlock.canadagsm.ca/. They say it will take 3-7 BD's for them to get the code, but I got it in 2 days. I was referred to this site by Sony store employee.
anyone know of a free way to do it?
I don't mind paying but why pay if it's free?

Maybe it was never free for Sony devices, however Galaxy Note, Note 2, S3, S4 were free to unlock.

Hello,
This is my first post on here, I was scrolling through looking for a way to get the glove mode on my xperia z1, but I cant find anything about it.
Anyway, I bought codes off two different websites and both ended up refunding me and saying that they couldn't get the code.
I went on eBay and bought a code for $30CAD and it was in my inbox the next day and worked fine. The guy that sells them is very nice too. His eBay username is rakeshb10.
Look him up and get your unlock code there. You can check his feedback before you buy it, he has all good feedback.
Oh and some websites say you need to put in a SIM card from another carrier to enter the unlock code, that's actually alot more work. Just open your dialer and type *#*#SIMLOCK#*#*
Obviously use the numbers instead of letters, I just can't recall them right now. You just click network lock and enter the code and your good to go. Make sure you get the code first because you only get so many attempts to enter the code. If you enter the wrong one and use up all your attempts, your phone will be locked out.
I am attaching a screenshot of the SIMLOCK app and proof that mines unlocked. I also just got this phone on a two year contract just weeks prior to unlocking it. I'm staying with Bell for now though.
Hope I helped.
*Sent from my Sony Xperia Z1 smartphone.

[Q] Unlocking Samsung Ativ S neo

Hello all,
Firstly appologies if I'm on the wrong thread I couldn't find one for the Ativ S neo.
I've just bought a Samsung Ativ S neo locked to AT&T, I thought I would only be a question of paying for the unlock code et voila. But the 2 unlocking company I have used so far could not get a code. I was wondering if someone here had similar experience and if they manage to sort it out.
Thanks in advance,
Cheerio
I thought the Neo was on Sprint only? In any case, have you tried talking to AT&T directly?
It was extremely recent.

AT&T release their Neo in November. I've tried to phone them but gave up aafter a while being sent from service to service, I try to send them an email but it came back saying that they don't deal with customer care by email anymore. I'll try to call them again, the 8hrs difference makes it a bit tricky ...

Of course, haven't got my sim yet. Expecting it next week.
Don't know if it's true but I read somewhere that you must activate the phone with an at&t sim before entering an unlock code or it will get permanently locked.

No need for AT&T sim card.

Unlocked S5?

So, I am wanting to get the S5, but I am tired of all the AT7T bloatware that comes on these phones. Plus, being in the military, prefer unlocked phones. So, what are my choices here. Where can I get an unlocked S5 that will fully work on the AT7T network?

The closest you could get is a TMO branded S5 which ships BL Unlocked (at least initial shipments) a few bands may not work though depending on the TMO radio. Also you would need to sim unlock the TMO S5 and buy it outright which I believe is 660.

I was wondering about that. Heard the TMO boot loader is unlocked. Just wasn't sure all bands would work on AT&T.
Att LTE should work hspa+ not sure I haven't looked at tmo specs at length

The expectation is that all American models are region-locked as well. Here is an example of a N. America model with the region-lock warning on it: http://www.androidauthority.com/galaxy-s5-region-lock-367402/
FYI, I bought an AT&T S5, unlocked it and am using it now on Straight Talk and with other local SIMs as I travel. Check out my post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2714535

Galaxy S8 T-Mobile USA Unlock

I bought a used T-Mobile Galaxy S8 to a third party, I found it on FB and I tough it would be a good deal. Unfortunately it is locked to T-Mobile and it is hard to unlock it by T-Mobile since I don't have any proof of purchase. I have been looking for unlock services but looks like nobody is really able to unlock the T-Mobile "Unlock App". Today I found this page which claims to be able to unlock the phone but I am not sure about it.
attunlockcode.com
Somebody has tried it, or any unlock service truly working for this phone and carrier?

Australian Carrier OEM Unlock option?

I have an N950F that I got through Vodafone (Build#NMF26X.N950FXXU1AQI1, CSC: VAU/VAU/VAU). When I go into Developer Options, there is no setting for OEM Unlock. Not sure if it means that the phone isn't locked to Vodafone to start with or if I need that setting to flash TWRP and then Magisk? I know the bootloader is unlocked (Exynos model) but the OEM Unlock setting seems to be causing a lot of confusion, with some people having it and some not.
Does anyone with a N950F bought through an Australian carrier have the OEM Unlock option in Developer Options?
Mate, I have an unbranded Note 8 that doesn't have OEM Unlock on it... Not sure what goes on there but this is a bit of a kick in the nuts for those that want to unlock...
We either flash a new recovery and brickour shiny new device or we can't in fear that it will brick...
I spent too much money on mine to try an experiment that more than likely will end in pain and anguish...

Well, either they have information and refuse to tell us (which is a pretty f**ked attitude towards customers who've paid for their flagship device) or they don't know a key piece of information about a device they sell at a premium.
I'm not sure which option is the most infuriating but both are totally unacceptable.

Not surprising really that the help desk offers little to no help.....
Most times they have no idea about what you ask. I'm sure they look up on PC any problems asked about and can pretty much guarantee that Samsung won't want to help anyone unlock their device. The custom roms that are made make them look bad.....

Fortunately, since Samsung have made the OEM Unlock option such a pain for so many users, devs are working hard to make an app that will make this option visible to everyone. Guess we'll just have to wait until they figure it out. It's very early days for dev work on the Note 8 and using it without root isn't nearly as bad as it has been with previous phones. The need for root is still there for me, but not as urgent as it once was.
I also have unbranded bought from Samsung Australia it also don't have oem option, wth is wrong with Samsung. Is it becoming a new Apple?
I've re-checked in Developer Options and now the OEM Unlock option is there. One theory is that the visibility of this option is triggered by time, such as the official launch date or maybe some other measurement, like the amount of time since the device has been used (I booted up my Note 8 for the 1st time exactly a week ago). I suggest that you periodically check Developer Options as the OEM Unlock option may become visible without any user intervention.

I've bought from Samsung directly as well (XSA firmware). Currently on Optus.
The OEM unlock toggle didn't appear at first which irritated me, however with the software update last week all I had to do was disable and re enable developer options, and bingo. It's there.

Yeah!! Oem unlock function appeared for me as well.....
Also got mine pre-order from Voda, currently running N950FXXU1AQI1/XAU (19/09/17). Arrived on the 19th, I guess we'll see tomorrow if OEM unlock magically appears in developer options.
I'm not holding my breath though, Samsung have clearly decided to put a 'lock' in place which disables OEM unlock & which also stops the CSC being changed which might otherwise enable OEM unlock on a phone which doesn't have it (most of them).
Looks like most of us are probably waiting until someone inevitably breaks the lock, which will happen sooner or later, just probably not as quickly as if it was the flagship model (I.E the SGS8) with more developers working on the device.
Edit - Nope. I have my doubts about the 'time device used' theory. There's some other factor involved here. It doesn't even seem to be firmware dependent; poster in another thread also running AQI1 has it, I don't.
I have a Telstra branded model I bought of my nephews girlfriend and I cannot get OEM Unlock on it, and it won't allow me to do Wifi-Calling unless it has a Telstra sim card in it.
I have no reception where I live so rely on wifi calling and the fact that flashing XSA or even an Optus firmware doesn't work as it defaults back to Telstra, I am in a bind.
The only way I can change the CSC is with root, but I cannot root the phone without OEM unlock, so its an expensive wifi only phablet at present.
I got the oem unlock option on my note 8 n950f. I bought it unlocked from Harvey Norman Vicroria. I purchased it on 22 september and got the option now. Attached is proof and version I have. Im also using an optus sim only plan.
