No, there is no solution available at the moment. A couple of people have been able to persuade ATT to give them codes after many days of phone calls and support chat. A few have had some varying success with turbo sims that supposedly fool the phone into thinking the sim is an ATT sim, but that's it.
based on what I have read online. ATT often will unlock your phone when you are in the contract for like 6 months or a year.
I called them with my tilt 2 about a year into my contract. Tell them that I am traveling oversea and want to use the phone internationally. They gave me the code without much hassle.
Not sure if this is partially due to the fact I have been with ATT for years.
Online search also shows that ATT will often unlock almost all smartphoen for you except iPhone, so keep try them and if the CSR does not help, ask for supervisor.

The official requirements are:
1. at least 90 days into a contract
2. Have a post paid account with contract
3. Paid all bills on time.

Captivate has proven to be an exception to this. There is already a long thread about Sim Unlock. The bottom line is AT&T won't give you a unlock code for Captivate until 10 months later.

Hi jentech
have read the whole thread "SIM unlock" till yet and have not a good feeling when my captivate will arrive to contact AT&T for the unlock code.
I never has been a AT&T customer cause living outside the US and won´t be to become one so hope they could understand my problem...
Do you have an email contact for their support-center?

If you're not an AT&T customer, they typically won't help you with unlock at all. Good luck.
Not sure why there is another unlock thread, but At&T told me they would. Unlock in 90 days. I have no reason to doubt them.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
Phone is unlocked now
with the awesome tool from nbs11 i unlocked my captivate today on my MAC and it worked without failure with vodafone here in germany
Bye bye AT&T
and bowsa1152 has a nice tool for PC (although slightly more complicated) it is still one click.
yeah its easy to unlock it now!

This worked for me also but it changed the phones imei number so now I have to fix that. Check yours out to see if it did the same to your phone.
Sorry double posted.
unlock Captivate with froyo
today i unlocked my captivate with an app called Galaxy S Unlock get it in the market very easy to do also on youtube i am running froyo 2.2, version I897ucji6 and i am rooted (need to be rooted)
Finally got the captivate to unlock and accept the tmobile sim today. Everything seems to be working fine so far. No data on the plan but using wifi til I add data. One thing I'm really curious about is.... Now that the phone is unlocked and working, If I flash a custom rom (say cognition for example) will I lose the "unlock" ?
*edit* forgot to say how I did it... I just simply flashed back to stock 2.1, master cleared, rooted, installed busybox and galaxy unlock app, used the #2 method with the unlock app and it worked. PATIENCE IS KEY! ===> It takes a good 2-4 minutes for the tmobile signal to kick in so it may seem as if the unlock failed but it just takes alot longer than the at&t signal to kick in.

You've post this already in paragon thread...simply no you are permanently unlock now the lock code inside your phone has been wiped out by the app you used.
I had the AT&T Galaxy Note and was able to get the SIM unlock code by calling them.
However, for the S4 Active, I couldn't. Called twice and the respond is that "we do not give out unlock code for this phone".

AT&T has an online unlock request form - can't hurt to try that...
Not sure if I can post links, so just Google "AT&T online unlock".

Maybe the phone is too new?

I got the GS4 Active about 1.5 months ago. Called ATT and they instantly gave me the unlock code. Been using the phone on T-Mobile since.

Awesome! I will try the chat tomorrow.
Wait, is your phone on contract or not? Curious they'll give the unlock code after just 1.5 months.

Same here. I'd call back until you get a rep that knows what they're doing. As long as you bought the phone at retail price and have the receipt they will give you the code. I had no problem getting 2 of them done while I was in Hawai'i and I'm not an ATT cust whatsoever (aside from buying the S4As)
But does the phone do wifi tether now?
Thanks for the help guys. I did the chat on AT&T website and got the code.
Hello all,
Firstly appologies if I'm on the wrong thread I couldn't find one for the Ativ S neo.
I've just bought a Samsung Ativ S neo locked to AT&T, I thought I would only be a question of paying for the unlock code et voila. But the 2 unlocking company I have used so far could not get a code. I was wondering if someone here had similar experience and if they manage to sort it out.
Thanks in advance,
Cheerio
I thought the Neo was on Sprint only? In any case, have you tried talking to AT&T directly?
It was extremely recent.

AT&T release their Neo in November. I've tried to phone them but gave up aafter a while being sent from service to service, I try to send them an email but it came back saying that they don't deal with customer care by email anymore. I'll try to call them again, the 8hrs difference makes it a bit tricky ...

I have the exact same problem. I also tested with two different services and non of them was able to unlock my device both said that they couldn't find my imei in the database.
I've called them twice now and both time they told me I need to have an account with them to get te unlock code. If there is anyone with an AT&T account willing to help to would be appreciated, it's free for you I could reward you for your help...
PM me if willing.

I have ordered a at&t go sim from eBay hopping that when I register it I will be a costumer. Don't know if that will work but guess it's worth a shot.

Of course, haven't got my sim yet. Expecting it next week.
Don't know if it's true but I read somewhere that you must activate the phone with an at&t sim before entering an unlock code or it will get permanently locked.

I've finally managed to get it unlocked through "theunlockingcompany.com" At first they didn't have the code and refunded me straight away asking me to check with them by email in 2-3 weeks, which I did and they now gave me the code. It cost me £18
No need for AT&T sim card.

Hello
I found out about this maybe 3 days ago and posted it under S7 forums since I have GS7 but I think someone might benefit from this information around here.
At swiftunlocks.com, they can unlock your t-mobile S7/S7e or S8/S8+ but that price tag of $125.99 is ridiculously high IMHO so I'll wait the price to come down or I'll just resell my phone.
I am in no way associated with that website, just spreading the word since I have used their services for over many years and there was never a failure, at least in my case.
Hope this helps someone.
Cheers
If you use a 3rd party unlocking service for T-Mobile phones, you run the risk of getting relocked at any time, and you're **** out of luck (and that money). Once T-Mobile decides to run their occasional rescan, you'll be locked up again.
You're better off putting that $126 towards paying off your phone, and just having T-Mobile unlock it. Hell, I got mine from Samsung, and T-Mobile unlocked it within a few weeks. Just had to call and ask.

Although I agree with your reasoning, not many people can unlock devices through T-Mobile. I don't have their account and person I bought my device from is out of my reach. Phone is not blacklisted, it is fully paid and is bought on samsung.com. 3rd parties are my only choice, even TMO/T-Force representative directed me to them after refusing to help because I'm not their customer (and will never be).
I believe this is a permanent unlock, and it's better than nothing we used to have, but even if it's permanent, still, this is very, very expensive.
$126 for an unlock is just BS, especially when 99% of phones can be unlocked under $50
You can unlock 2 phones every 12 months at no charge directly from T-Mobile. If the carrier unlock app is not working, you probably bought the phone directly from Samsung like I did. Call T-Mobile, tell them you want to unlock because you're going out of the Country, they'll ask for the IMEI, submit unlock request to Samsung, retry the app in a week, done.

did they ask you for a tmobile account? I have tried calling them but once I let them know I don't have a tmobile account they stop helping me. they have asked for it every single time I try (5 now).

i think you need to be one of their customers, because when i talked to T-Force on FB, they ask me verify my phone number. well, I found one listing on ebay for $160. But might as well sell your phone. And get different carrier like ATT, the unlock process is much easier/cheaper.

This is correct, the T-Force rep on twitter sent me a link to log into and verify my active account status on my.t-mobile.com.
Well...the Metro PCS unlock app services are falling in price so hopefully the T-mobile services will follow suit? Oh and I totally tried converting my T-mobile S8 to a Metroc PCS one but the Metro device unlock app could not connect to the server so sadly the T-mobile device unlock app on a T-mobile firmware is still the only option =(

I dont get it. Metro PCS and Tmobile is pretty much a same company. Yet, there is a huge price gap between them @@
I bought a carrier unlocked Pixel 5 from Amazon. Unfortunately, it's a T-Mobile variant, and I can't perform a OEM unlock. I tried calling their customer care, but they're all clueless.
Is there any paid service to which I can turn to to get my device unlocked?
Also, I read forums where guys ask representatives in Twitter/FB messenger to get device unlocked. If this is possible, how do I go about this? Where do I get the representative contact?
Unfortunately all we know of is you will need the unlocked variant.
I don't believe any carrier Pixels(s) 5 are bootloader unlockable.
Sorry.

I'm not sure if this is true, but if you call them or pay off the device, you can get bootloader unlocked. You can try getting it SIM unlocked via T-Mobile app, if it's paid off.

Unfortunately, even if it is paid off, I need to have a T-mobile account (not sure if it is any account of the account by which the device was bought) associated with the mobile for atleast 40 days. No way around that. So unfair though. Even after it being paid off. Anyways, thanks for the answers. Really appreciate it.

Yup. This is the reply they gave in Twitter and FB both.
Just purchased a "unlocked" device on swappa only to receive a locked at&t pixel 5.
Requested carrier unlock by calling at&t customer service. My vzw Sim card started working after they unlocked but OEM unlock was still greyed out. Applied all pending updates in settings, then OEM unlock became available. Immediately unlocked the bootloader and loaded Los 20.
