Hi everyone,
I hope someone can help me, my Galaxy S Advance keeps rebooting.
Basically I tried to root it using Odin and although it's now rooted it also restarts randomly.
I've tried going into recovery mode and wiping all data but it makes no difference.
A few details from "About Phone" that might help...
Model Number: GT-I9070
Android Version: 2.3.6
Baseband version: I9070XXLK2
Kernel version: 2.6.35.7 [email protected] #7 SMP PREEMPT Fri May 18 10:04:49 CEST 2012
Build Number: GINGERBREAD.XXLK2
Does anyone know how to solve this? Or if not how do I reinstall the stock software?
Many thanks
Kris

Install CoCore kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1939528 with Universal kernel flasher (from play store, you will need some root explorer like ES File explorer).
You get random reboots because ROOT kernel is not stable.
P.S. About installing stock firmware, use Odin. Download firmware for your country/phone version (P Or non P is very important, you can hard brick phone).

1-just make full wipe (3 wipe)
2-root your device with CF root or by semaphore kernel 2.5 not 2.7.4
3-download cm9 to your sd card
4-flash it through cwm
5-then flash your favour ics rom

I am tempted to say RTFM.. There are plenty of tutorials, with all steps described. Just read a little, you'll be learning by yourself

It is not necessary to use root kernel to root, check my sig. for rooting guide by Dr.Ketan.
But if you want to be on safe kernel after root, then use either of the Notecore or Speedmod kernels. You can also use Hydracore universal kernel, it can be used with all kind of roms.
Hi ive just downloaded the GL_NOTECORE_v12_STD kernel and plan to flash it in pda section of odin on my pc. Will this be safe and work on my firmware?

Yes it's safe. You can interchangeably use any kinds of ICS kernel as it does not have any bearing on what firmware you have as long as your on 4.0.4 ICS
Re flashing kernels :
You can use PC odin if you don't mind the yellow triangle custom flash logo on your boot up.
Can be removed via triangle away on Play Store.
Otherwise use mobile odin pro the device to flash the kernal.

Unfortunately, there are no solutions to this. See my posts.
You can minimise crashes by not handling large files/videos
