What region do you happen to live in? I'm curious as I do see some additional new 'unknown region' firmwares for na6 are listed in samfirmware this morning...

Just readon the moto forums that the update is rolling out and can now be pulled via about phone > updates. I updated previously but has anyone not in the soak test got the update yet?

I checked for the update and it's available. I don't want to lose root though. Will someone post details after updating? Root, bloat, good or bad?

You will want to re-bloat your phone before updating or it will fail. Root will be lost but 1-click root still works on the update.

I tried checking, and get the message "Check for update is not available at this time. Try again later."
It seems something is definitely up, as normally I would just receive a message that my system is up to date.
I don't see why you guys just haven't used the fastboot or .zip already... been available for a month.

Is there a simple way to avoid the update?

It will fail if you removed/froze any apps.

It's something I was just waiting to be ota personally. A lot of the issues it is said to fix never really bothered me except for the blue tint in pictures.

Assuming you did not remove any stock apps besides the two Gameloft demos and just froze the apps using Titanium:
1. Unfreeze the apps using batch mode in Titanium
2. Install the update
3. Reroot using the one click method. I unfroze and updated at work and now just finished rooting again.
Yeah it's random. Have two non-rooted D3's one of them got pushed the update and the other one is stuck checking for the update. Came here to see what was up.
Got the ota update this morning on my stock D3. Downloaded and installed and the install failed and then the home screen came up but with no 3G connection. Pulled the battery and nothing happened. Called Verizon and they had me pull the battery and then do a hard reset. Still no 3G connection. Got Motorola on the phone and they had me do a manual reset, but still no 3G connection. Verizon is sending me a replacement phone overnight.
Fail. Lol

I unfroze the apps before trying. Nothing was previously removed. Anything that was frozen has unfrozen properly.
EDIT: Found the reason for the message: Social applications was set to "sync over wifi only" which was causing the message. Now I get the "checking for available update. Please wait..." and it's been going about 3 minutes so far, no update found. Does not look like data is being sent/received while it's checking, either.
Hello!
I have just updated to ICS and a few days ago there was a small update, around the size of 25 MB. I decided to press ok and it reboot. It showed the android with the cog for a brief moment then my device suddenly rebooted.
As it rebooted i thought that it had finished, being such a small file; but it told me that the update had failed and that i should try use KIES or try again.
Any suggestions?

Don't worry, you ain't the only one having this problem. I'm NOT rooted, never have been rooted, and yet i have the same failed update problem too. Nobody seems to know what to do. All the methods I have tried have not worked.

Hello guys,
I was having the same issue with the installation aborting at 27%. Below is everything I tried:
1- Phone was rooted with Kingo. Performed an un-root and tried again but still failed.
2- Restored the phone using the internal reset with the same results.
3- Restored the phone to factory settings using Kies did not work either....so.......
This morning I went to the AT&T store and as usual they were clueless as what to do. Some of them didn't even knew about the update so I ended up going to the Samsung Booth inside a Best Buy Store.
The girl looked and showed me that their system still doesn't show the AT&T kitkat update for the Note 3. Then she offered to perform a factory reset using their system.....after a few minutes I went home with the phone and downloaded and installed the update without a hitch.....go figure.
Everything is working fine and all my data is still there.:good:
I can use some help too. Mine is just "checking for update was interrupted" and happened for the last 3 times I checked. Never root the phone.
For anyone having problems check out my fix

No you have to start from step 1 unless you've already used the guide to restore MJ5 previously.
Guys! Did this process and everything works like a charm! it is safe and noob-proof, follow this guys tutorial and everything is going to work!

Since your build number is saying nce i'd say no, theres some odin flashable ng3 files in the general section if you want to give that a shot, i personally dont think im very qualified to give suggestions as far as that goes though, so i'd wait for further instruction from someone who knows more than me.
Sent from my SM-G900A using Tapatalk
Yeah, kernel and build number don't look up to date. I'd think you could follow the guide to odin back to the nc3 completely and try the ota again, or use the ng3 stock rooted firmware available to odin everything up to current (but with root). I looked for stock unrooted ng3 and couldn't find it, although it may be available too.

I'm trying to complete the OTA update on my 925A, however after it downloads and reboots to begin installing, it's says "update failed". Is there anybody else experiencing this issue, and does anyone know how to fix it? Thanks!
If your Edge is currently rooted, it will always fail.

In my case I de-rooted by doing an Oding restore, but was still getting the error. This was due to CSC (partition?) changes I made while rooted. I had to Odin all 4 partitions back to stock before the update worked for me.

Have you completely powered down the device and powered it back up and tried again? Is it redownloading the file each attempt you make?

Where did you grab all the files? Which do you put in each slot?
I believe I got the file here. Unzip the download, and you'll find all 4 files. Each file begins with BL, AP, CSC, and etc, so you know where to put each file.

I tried to factory reset and then update, but it still failed. Thankfully I have a Samsung kiosk in my area, so I just went there and had them manually flash the update.
