Hi, How many people are facing this issue?

As you can hear, the sounds is fine only in the first 2 seconds on every recording

sorry it's not a solution... but why don't you take it back to the service centre?

are you using stock rom ? custom based rom`s have that issue.. on the other hand the stock rom have a great sound recording ..

No. I dont own the device. I wanna buy it. But I am worried about every issue that ZR has:
1- Not-working Bluetooth and Wifi
2- Weak USB Flap
3- Camera condesation
4- Bad sound recording
I know. The Z1C is better, but I cant afford it.
I can live with the VGA front facing camera, and 8GB internal memory.
So, Do you still recommed the ZR ?

I guess I'll give my opinion to the list you posted.
(I have my ZR for about 3 months already)
1. I think it is a factory defect since not all users experience it(Including me)
2. You can buy Its charging dock to avoid using the USB port and preserve its strength, anyways, its life will depend on how you open/close it. I always lift it up carefully then rotate it when I open it(not like others where they bend the cover when opening it.)
3. Same as number 1
4. You mean in Video recording? It does happen when you submerge it in the water, but will vanish when the water dries out. Its video recording is really quite decent (Despite the fact that recording 6 minutes of Full HD video will consume about 700mb already ).
If you really can't afford the Z1C then I can really suggest this phone. Just take great measures in choosing the store where you will get it.

1. never get any problem with that (i don t use bluetooth)
2. this is fine: in fact when it s new it s either fit too strong or not enough but with time it gets better and you can find a workaround.
However the headphone is pretty strong so it can be a problem if you listen music very often
3. Never got any condensation but I don t take picture so often too..
4. I don t know for the recording but the sound quality is a bit low. For music it s fine but very often I have problem to understand people on the phone but it s also a network problem...I think I m gonna buy a bluetooth earphone.
Also, the main speaker is on the back which very stupid when you play music...
For me, the main issue with this phone will be:
- internal storage: the system take something like 4.5 G so you get only 3 for you... and there is no simple solution to fix that except Root+FolderMount(app2sd..are not working)
- not so much developement: sony is slow to update and as this phone wasn t so popular not so many developers are working on it.
For instance, it s still not really clear if we will get Kitkat...
My advice: If you can have this phone for a really interesting price, go for it but don t forget the limitation and the probably very short support you will get (I think Sony will drop it next summer and everyone will move for Z1C or Z2 soom...)

i own this device and i can tell you that i don`t fact any problem you mention.
no camera condensation, i use a lot underwater
no bad sound recording
i charge only with usb because i don`t own a dock charger and the flap stands well
bluetoth work very well and wifi range is better than other phones i had..

I also have the same problem with video recording too, it seems like a problem in noise suppression department as voices are recorded clearly but enviroment and other sounds suck! earpiece had a loud enough sound until I tested water resistance and since then I have difficulty hearing the other party.
my flaps have been firm and had no problem with them. wifi is more than good. Pictures and movies quality are also good.

This helped me - I am on 4.2.2 xxxx .244, almost stock and rooted.
I have flashed the fix and seems to be OK now.
There is a simple decision of a problem.
It is necessary in a file snd_soc_msm_2x_Fusion3 ( \system\etc\snd_soc_msm\ ) To change it :
Name "Camcorder Stereo"
Comment "Dual MIC recording device"
From this ACDBID 545:2 to ACDBID 528:2.
We keep and reboot the device.
can someone post the /etc/audio_policy.conf from stock roms? thx.

Clicking when camera focuses in video
OK so I finally bought the phone only to discover when listening to a video on the free sony headphones that I got with the handset that whenever the camera focuses you can hear it. Like a low frequency clicking. I recall a similar issue with N8 it was more noticeable on that handset but it got fixed. Just hope SONY do something about this I can't believe it.

Ear Speaker problem
Got this problem from 3-4 days. During a call, the EAR speaker stops working. Though speaker works. I think it's a problem with software as ear speaker works sometimes. I 've PureX installed. Sent from my C6602 using xda premium
Also WiFi of Xperia Z takes longer than other phone to connect to my router. Also I get more Wi-Fi drops than any other phones in my home including Nokia X6. Any solution? My Z is rooted Sent from my C6602 using xda premium
my xperia z has the same problem, but mine when i press on the ear speaker the sound is back and it is back to work. i think the problem is in the hardware. sorry i don't have the solution but i asked sony customer care about my problem and they said to take to sony service shop
I have exactly the same issue - very intermittent though. Been happening since the 4.3 update (so last 3/4 days also). I've just done a wipe of the cache partition to see if that helps. If it doesn't, it'll be a full wipe Failing that, and I'm really hoping it won't come to this, but I'll have to see if Sony will honour the warranty based on me buying from another country. All all the things my phone can do - I can't now make a call without being on loudspeaker (or having the headset plugged in!) Edit: No, still having the same issue - will try a full wipe and report if I find out anything new
water inside had the same pb..
Not been anywhere near water, so not that. Done a full wipe & restore, but still have the issue intermittently. I'll have to see if Sony will repair it - tricky I imagine given I purchased it in a different country.
Probably hardware related... When this problem occur I twist my phone (literally pry it) then the speaker start to work again... Seems like there a bad connection between speaker and motherboard...

Have same problem, earspeaker stop working and I can only make a call using the loudspeaker or a headset. If I install Smart Connect it shows that a Headset is connected, but there are no headset connected. What I also noticed ist that the microfon also not working in Video recording, etc. only in a call with loudspeaker its working.
I've had the same problem - it's hardware problem... Sony service was not able to set the problem (how stupid is that!) and I've been to another service (my phone is still under warranty) and payed - they replaced the whole air speaker... There's a major number of people who have that problem It's a model problem... My Xperia z problems: death pixels, unglued backcover, problem wirh ear speaker and problem with proximity sensor.... I have the earspeaker problem as well for a few month now. After trying different ROMs (CM, RR, Omni, stock) I figured out the speaker works occasionally when I press and twist different spots on the backside a little bit. At the moment my phone is at a service shop. I hope they will fix that annoying problem.
Sry if i resume that post But it's important :3 Be Careful before send your Phone at customer service for earspeaker substitution, The 80% of earspeaker issues are software (look The thousand of People that's changed earspeaker and have again The same issue in few month). The constants in almost all The users affected by that problem are: They use sony's walkman and The Phone stop working properly because Android detect AN Headset in The audio jack. So i try To disabile sony's integrate walkman (uninstall updates and disable application) and "musica in movimento" (in english i suppose is music on trip?). Result: i can't hear Nothing for earspeakers. As my Last ship i try a New music player Whit call interrupt function (Aimp). Headset ok, i disconnettere th jack, The song pause, Nice, try To play It without Headset: all work fine (do that thing, It probably permanently fix The issue). Now I'm using that Phone for work and at The moment It Seems work properly (i found that workaround only 3 days ago so is not fully tested)... If someone want try i need some feedback P.s. I Hope i explain myself quite Well, I'm not english and Write long messages With italian spellcheck is a bloodbath :|
Any way/mod to remove the annoying audio static noise??
Firstly, i'm not sure if this should really be called static noise, sorry for that but there're always some minor "shiiiiiiiiiiiiii" voice behind when i play music, which is seemed to be removable with Acid audio mod V1(s800 version) but this mod is not working on .681 and v2 is not released yet the noise is still present and i found it somehow annoying!! anyway to remove it?? I actually found my previous device Xperia S dont have static noise problem since day1 and seems to be even a bit better in sound detail especially with mod, while the snapdragon s3 is supposed to have shortcoming in audio quality. What an irony!! I lose my XS so i cant really test out the thing now. Yeah i was mad when i lose it and that's why i bought the z1...

Xperia Z C6603 no sound from loudspeaker
Hi. I've got an Xperia Z here that I managed to get a good deal on because it doesn't play sound from the loudspeaker. Everything else works absolutely perfect including the headphone port. I've tried putting the board in another z and it still refused to produce sound through that loudspeaker too and another board in this z made it play sound. Does anyone have any idea what could cause this? I know when stuff like that happened psps years ago they had little fuses you could bridge but I can't find any info at all about the z motherboard.
For anyone that's interested it turns out it actually is playing sound but at an extremely low volume level to the stage where you can just barely hear it if you hold it right to your ear.

Hi, I recently buy this phone in shop near by. So far all was good, i check everything and i was rly satisfied. But after 2 or 3 day's i tryed to record something and in 1st time it was fine. Then i record something in my old car and after camera audio recording detect some Audio Noise in background he is trying to cancel it, like in iphone 6 and iphone 6s ... But its not working correctly. U can hear a little bit of your voice but strange rly strange and its hard to understand what is person on camera saying.. So i have question is this software problem? Is this camera problem? Can i turn it off? Maybe fix with software ? Or i need to but my phone back on shop? I tryed with different camera aps and its same for all of app's.
