got this phone galaxy s1 which is slow and at times it hangs up
f.w is 2.3.3 gingerbread.XXJVK which i downloaded from here a while ago
it has got 2 gb memory card which i have taken out at the moment ,there is hardly any data on the phone,
which rom to use to make it fast or stable
thanks
thinking about C rom 4.0.2 v1
have downloaded it from here ,will it update the kernal as well or do i have to update kernal before
downloaded teh .zip file and named it to update.zip
into the root of the micros sd card and put in the phone
with three button method went to recovery mode
wipe data/factory reset + wipe cache partition
install from sd card
but sd card has other small apps onto it ,which i didnt put it when i formatted the card and put only the 149 mb file which i copied from here and then copied them to the sd card in .zip format
they phone has lost all the data ,but its still on gingerbread 2.3.3

you cannot use update.zip for flashing a custom ROM, so follow

Root your device first and then flash ant custom rom . Never use update.zip method for custom Roms. It may brick your device

i suffered that alot when i was new to rooting and flashing, just try flashing a new stock firmware back to the phone from samfirmwares.com and see how you go,
actualy pre rooted firmware
firmware http://www.multiupload.com/YY0JBMUWBF
csc file http://www.multiupload.com/NRVCK6KYWD
512 pit file http://www.multiupload.com/I5WICSBFJ1
see how you go with that, although u may need to manually add youre providers apn settings in after though
Regarding the icon: flash the bootloaders(boot & Sbl) and a working kernel
Thanks for the posts ...fliptechnologies do i use odin to flash them files ? where does the firmware go ?(pda?). Does anyone know if anyone with the same problem has made a guide by any chance ?
thanks
there are apps which help you root your phone using adb
like SuperOneClick you might want to try it, or using a firmware with root as suggested
there is also an app which can be installed in your phone to root ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=833953)
but first you need to get a firmware in order to install that app
get an stock ROM like 2.2 froyo or 2.1 eclair, then try with the app
First, I'm sorry for my bad English.
When I use Odin to Install stock rom (2.3.6) and then my Note can't find SD Card and Interal storage . How to fix it ! Thankyou so much for read and support !
Noone know ?
So.... what phone model do you have?
Does factory reset on gingerbread help?
Where did you come from previously prior to flashing gingerbread?

And when click camera : Turn off USB Storage before using camera, how to turn it off ?
Does your Note show internal memory when connected to PC? To Turn USB storage off, go to Settings>More>USB utilities..but I doubt if it is ON..may b a different issue in ur case..U were never in ICS right? bcz doing Factory reset on Stock ICS kernel wl brick ur phone..
You may want to try re-flashing stock GB using PC Odin..
try flashing an ICS rom..but donot do any wipes. just flash with odin and check the storage again
Thankyou for all supports !

What do you mean by repartitioning? Does it make partitions on my sd?
So basically i only need to go on recovery mode and install this along with its gapps? Pls correct me if im wrong.thanks.

hi
as you know there are several types of partition
in windows there are fat16, fat32, ntfs
in linux there are many diferent types
repartitioning in your tab means this ROM (10.1) needs to run on MTD partition, so its change your tab partition to MTD
in this case you lost all your data such as contacts, app and ...
and the other is when you want to came back to GB ROM you should use ODIN and follow restock rom installation
good luck
Ohh.. now i get what repartition means.. thanks.. ill try to flash 10.1 when i get time. Thanks again

Hi guys,
I had my mobile phone rooted and flashed with a custom rom (Jelly Bam) but had to rewind everything because I needed to send it to the support center. Anyway, I just got it back and wanted to root it again so I can put the custom rom on it.
This is my folder

I put the zImage from the CF-Root-SGN into the InitialCFRootFlasher zImage Folder but when I now start not-rooted-yet.bat I always get the message that the path cannot be found. Is there a new way to root the Galaxy Note more easily or am I doing something completely wrong? I got the drivers, no Kies started, USB-Debugging on and unkown sources too. Help would be appreciated

The problem is that on these instructions I need to put something on my external SD card but I don't have one. Isn't there a way without an external SD Card?

Hi,
I have problem with SGS. When I got it from my friend there was Android 2.3.3. When i turn on the phone, booting took maybe 30minutes, then all apps started to crash. So I did wipe data and wipe cache in system recovery but it didnt solve the problem. Then I flash over Odin official firmware but still booting takes about 30minutes and all apps are crashing. I tried to flash three files rom via odin too but it didnt help. So please help, i really dont know what to do now, i tried everything
Phone is non-rooted, there is official 2.3.6 but all is crashing so it is unusable.
Thanks and sorry for my english

yes you can, use odin and the download menu of the phone (turn it of, then turn it on and press volume down + home + power buttom for a few sec)
there are a few guids in this forum how to do that, just search for it
