[Q] Screen-on time - Galaxy Tab 8.9 General

Just want to know what's your average screen-on time. My settings are as follows:
ROM: Stock ICS (100% supercharged + Kak + 3g turbocharger)
Kernel: 1.7.3 A1 (1.2 ghz OC, -50 mV @ 1.2 ghz, interactive governor, noop scheduler)
Auto brightness
Volume around 50% (speakers)
Flight mode on (no wifi, no 3g, no signal)
Screen-on time: approx. 7-8 hrs for games.

ROM: [ROM][ICS][STOCK][P7300][LQJ][Deodexed] Final Build [14/1/14]
Kernel: Stock Kernel 3.1.10 Build 1262074
%25 brightness (usually)
Volume 100% (headset)
Flight mode on (no wifi, no 3g, no signal)
Screen-on time: approx 9 hours for games
and I love it:laugh:

Cool! I'm reverting to stock kernel as well since I get around 9-10 hours of gaming. With A1 kernel, I've got lot of wakelocks draining battery.

Battery Leak - Help Appreciated

Hi all.
I'm experiencing some sort of battery leak, but nothing is jumping out at me. Went to bed ~ 95% and woke up to ~ 20%.
Battery Use Stats:
Cell Standby - 44% (TWS - 0%)
Phone Idle - 45%
Voice Calls - 6%
Display - 3%
Dialer - 2%
Here is the software info:
Firmware - 2.1 Fresh Toast
Baseband - 2.42.00.03.10
PRI - 1.70_003
PRL - 60664
Running OC Widget on detect settings & autokiller on aggressive.
Using SpareParts - Partial Wake Usage - Calendar has the largest bar above Android System (yet I really don't use the calendar for appointments).
Any thoughts/tips/tricks would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
Jerry
I'm assuming you have reboot the phone?
In addition, on your OC widget what your setting for screen on and screen off?
I'm still playing with setting that best for me and the phone. However, this is my current setting for OC widget: for screen on 729600 for min and Max and screen off 245760 for min and max. I saw if I did't select differ freq for screen off, the CPU was run at same speed at screen on. Compare the 2.1.1 I'm getting average 8-10 hr of battery. I'm guessing OC might drain battery faster. Maybe I'm wrong.
Yes, I have rebooted since loading. I used the auto-detect settings for the OC Widget, but I guess that could be an issue. 8-10 hours of battery seems low to me? I was getting near 24hrs average (some higher, some lower) on Fresh 2.0d.
Here are the settings:
OC Widget Settings:
Screen On - 245760,384000
Screen Off - 245760,384000
I guess that could be an issue.
What's your awake perentage at?

Strange I have mine set higher than your for screen on.
Still battery hr for me. I know 2.1.1 I was getting at least a day an half with moderate use.
Like abcdfv said what your awake and uptime?
Up time: 20:35
Awake time: 5:57
Awake time looks good.
Try this setting on your OC widget:
480000 min and 576000 max. It may or may not help.
Thanks for all of your help.
Would this be for both screen on & off?
Screen on.
For screen off I have mine set at 245760 for min and max. So far battery life is OK. Since unplug at 7:45 AM (100%) and now it at 66%. Few calls, web surfing and facebook. Roughly 1 hr 20 mins usage of phone and 4hr 30 mins standby. I know compare to 2.1.1 it not great battery life.
Thanks - I'll try that.
So far, I might head back to Fresh 2.1.1 if this battery life stays like it is running Fresh Toast.
You could also try running RegawMod, I have had noting but good to say about the ROM so far and battery life is wonderful! I use Strict I think on ak though., stay around 60MB free ram if that helps at all.
Thanks for the help. I decided to factory wipe, wipe SD and cache. I then flashed Fresh 2.1.1 and my battery life is back to normal. Might play with Fresh Toast some more later.
Thanks for all of your help.

[Q] Talon-dev4.1 battery life

Wanted to post in the talon dev thread but didnt have enough posts.
so heres my setup
I'm running serendipity VII build 2 rom
Talon dev 4.1 1440 oc 340mb kernel
and JVQ modem (tried jv6, and jvo)
also i have the bluedipity theme installed
My voltage control settings
sched = vr (tried sio, and noop. didnt notice much difference)
Conservative (powersave is unresponsive [on 100mhz constantly, takes forever to get back into VC], ondemand sits between 1000 and 1440mhz constantly [lowest ive seen it go is 800, but not for long])
UV to -75 across the board (was on 125 on talon 1200 oc, but too many issues on 1440)
my battery life was ok on talon 3.1 oc 1200 340mb
but now i hardly make it through the day with minimal use
i unplugged around 8:30am by the time i get home from work at 5:30 battery is at only around 28%
by minimal use i mean i only made 2 phone calls, send/receive a few texts, check email, facebook, xda, and a couple sites once on lunch and thats it
any suggestions on improving my battery life? id be happy with 1200 oc if i could have decent battery life
I got decent battery life with Talon 0.4.1 1200 OC. I use Dlev-3.8.1 rom, with TUBJV6 modem. Bettery lasted 2 days after full charge with normal use, including several short calls, a couple hours wifi internet and Angry birds, and some other usage I couldn't recall.
Something isn't right. You should be using the ondemand scheduler, and it shouldn't be stuck between the high clocks. It should go down to 100MHz when nothing is being done, and jump up to 1000MHz+ when there is activity. Either something went wrong during flashing, or there's something running in the background that's keeping the phone active.
I haven't tried any of the later Talon builds, but considering I get up to 2 days with more than moderate use on one of the older ones (no undervolting, 1200MHz OC), such a decrease in battery performance seems off.
That's what I thought. Ill go back to 1200 oc and see how it is

Get more battery life (CM 10.1)

Hi all guys, I have got stock rom with a custom kernel for a lot of time. But with Cm 10.1 I can't get the same battery life and I don't understand why. All people here say the have more than 3 hours of screen-on time. But I can't say the same and I don't understand why.
I have optimous prime kernel and cm10.1 and I set every time these CPU frequency:
Min 102 MHz
Max 1.2 GHz
Interactive Scheduler
I don't have any strange app that cause drop of battery. I was wondering if Facebook app can drop it, but I have setted Facebook to don't synchronize.

Install better battery Stats or any other app that measures the sleep time of your phone, and see what's keeping your battery drain and / or keeping it from going into deep sleep
he is right. some app must drain your battery otherwise the battery is dying. also i can say that 1.2 is really low. mine is 1.7 and is running like a lion for around 3 hours too.

BATTERY BACKUP on ANDROID ONE

Hello everyone.
I created this thread to collect general consensus on the average battery life offered by the Android one phones. I have seen many people changing batteries, buying new ones because they thought that their battery life was poor only to find that the battery life remained the same. So in this thread, every Android One user can post the battery life of his device.
There are, however, a few things that should be there :
1. The name of Your phone (eg. Karbonn Sparkle V, Micromax Canvas A1 etc)
2. The Android One Generation (1st Gen, sprout4, sprout8 etc)
3. The ROM you're using.
4. The kernel (and the version number) installed.
5. The governor you use, the setting for max and min CPU clock (if it's different from the default values of 1300 and 598)
6. Xposed or any other Mod that you are using (generally these don't have much of an impact on battery life but no problem in including them, right )
7. Your usage conditions. Amount of time spent browsing on 3G, on 2G, amount of time spent gaming, amount of time spent watching videos, wifi usage, screen brightness (auto or custom value) . Also include if you always keep data on or do you switch it on only when needed.
8. The Custom ROM or OS you are using.
9. The Age of your battery/phone (How old it is)
10. Lastly, the time your phone lasts on a single full charge. You may also include the time for which the device screen was on. (Duh, this was obvious [emoji6] )
All that's been mentioned above are things that can affect battery life so it's necessary for someone to have knowledge of these to be able to gauge how long the battery should last for his usage pattern. Also feel free to include any other info you feel is necessary.
I hope this reference list turns out to be extremely useful for you people.
Wish you all a long battery life.
Cheers.[emoji1]
And here's my stats :
Phone : Karbonn Sparkle V
Generation : 1st Gen, sprout4
ROM: Monarch ROM MM
Kernel : Zeus Kernel v4.5
Usage: No gaming, mostly music and Internet browsing on 3G. Data connection turned off unless needed.
Age : Phone is one year old.
No xposed or mod installed.
Governor : interactive
CPU clock : default
BATTERY LIFE : 4-5 hrs.
Screen on Time : 4hrs.
4-5 hrs is what...screen on time...if you are getting that then it's been awesome...I could only squeeze out 4 hrs of screen on time with some tweaking.

In my post, 4-5 hrs is the total time the full charge lasts. You're right to an extent though, and I will add screen on time as another criteria. However the total battery life is also important since that tells how efficiently the governor has been doing is John, by putting device into deep sleep at the right time etc . It can be used to identify the best governor even.
Phone : Karbonn Sparkle V
Generation : 1st Gen, Sprout4

2.5 days!!! [emoji33] [emoji33]
You got to be kidding me.
Even for a brand new phone, that's quite an accomplishment. This could be explained only by your scree on time which will tell the duration for which you actually used the phone. Anyways, you're getting great battery life pal. Kudos to you. [emoji6]
The secret is to lose 1% or 0% per hour when the screen is off. This is the result of Amplify+Greenify+PowerNap.

Like I said, your battery lasts quite long but that is because your phone probably stays in deep sleep for most of the time. Plus the battery is new and battery life deteriorates with age. Of course the tips you mentioned do their bit in extending the battery life but the duration the phone remains in low power state is the most prominent factor.

heating problem in every oreo rom

In nougat roms temp stays at 33 to 35 at normal usage but in oreo roms temp always reaches to 3 9 to 41 in normal usage why so much deference
sorry, can't verify that:
which kernel? and which governor?
you've spent 61% of time at 1400MHz, so the temperature is not a surprise.
Use NOS or use init fix processes of Gabriel kernel. There's something is non fixed in Oreo is ramping up the CPU which causes the heat and battery drain.
(some rom has internet and charging heat too)
