It is a fine piece of work that is done with Vivokat 4.4.2. As far as I can see, everything works as it should, except for the sound recording and Cast screen. If I choose Sound Recorder, and start recording, the phone locks up. The only way of getting out of it is to remove the battery. The only reason that I rooted and upgraded my phone was for making screen mirroring to my TV so it's a little boring that precise this feature does not work. Koushik Dutta from Cyanogen Inc. now has a beta version of Mirror which can be installed on a rooted 4.4.2. I have this app installed, and the program can see both my Apple TV ( v3) box and Airserver on my computer. However nothing happens when I select them. It tries to connect for approx. 7 seconds, and then nothing else happens. I can stream Flipps movies to both Apple TV and Airserver, so I have a suspicion that it might be Koushik Dutta's app is not working with HTC Incredible S. It's a beta version, so the possibility exists. It may also be that this HTC model, just can't do screen mirroring, regardless of which apps you use.
Does anyone have experience with screen mirroring from a HTC Incredible S?

I just found out a fatal error. The microphone does not work, so I can't use voice recorder and what is worse, those who call me can not hear what I say.
It seems that I need to find another ROM where the microphone is working Does anyone have a good idea in this context?
Vivokat Stable #3 (the previous build) worked perfectly in regards to the built-in microphone and phone calls (but has intermittent wifi issues), so if you just want audio to work, you can use that. szeszo put out an updated kernel for those on stable #4 to test out (which should fix the mic issue), but judging by the replies here on the forum, it looks like it doesn't seem to work for everyone.

Hi.
The problem is that when making or receiving phone calls, no audio can be heard (audio is sent fine) - unless the speakerphone is enabled.
This problem appeared randomly at some point after it had been running a custom WM6.5 build for some time.
The exact same problem is now persisting under ANDROID.
Is this most likely a broken speaker or a software fixable issue?
I'm using the latest available radio and HARD SPL.
Anyone know a way to enable the speakerphone mode by default under ANDROID?
BUMP
I've read in some threads that certain HTC phones have a problem where the USB port thinks that a USB headphone is plugged in and then disables the regular audio, seems the only remedy is jiggling the port which hasn't helped for me..
Is this the problem with my Kaiser?
Any fix or workaround, or at least software hack in Android to make the speakerphone default then
bump!
..........
Have you hard reset or reflash?
I have hard reset and flashed different OS -
The problem 'appeared' after it was running fine for a long period of time though (with no configuration changes) - so I think that perhaps the problem lies with the mini usb jack as noted in post #2 - but i may be wrong?

I have same problem which makes very MAD Did you fixed that already? any tips how to solve or even tutorial?
Up.
The same problem with HTC Desire HD on a stock Android ROM 2.3.5 (no custom ROMS tried on this phone yet). Any idea? Any help?
Had this issue on all Lollipop ROMs I've tried. My earpiece (+headphone jack) is faulty, so I set all my calls to the loudspeaker. Worked fine on KK and on my first days of Lollipop, but then even speaker stopped working. Being unable to make calls, reverted back to KK, working fine (considering I have de earpiece HW issue). Now switched back to Lollipop and it happened again. Tried routing all audio to speaker with SoundAbout, no results except for the first time after installing the app. Speaker works great for everything else, so I'm suspecting of something about how LP routes HW-related audio (calls coming from the network and, I think, FM radio - never used it in my phones, so I have no clue) and SW-related audio (everything else, which comes from file reading, handled by apps, like music, whatsapp audio and notifications) or some issue with the apps and libs (and whatever else) related to calls.
So I'd like help in the following points:
1. Is it possible to revert everything system-wise related to calls to their KK counterparts? Is there a good reason for it not to work well, theoretically, so I shouldn't even bother trying?
2. In case 1 isn't possible, is there a way for me to check everything that should be working about call audio, see what outputs and stuff like that I was supposed to get, and compare these to the ones I get, on testing? I can provide logcat with SoundAbout on and off, if needed;
3. Since it's only happening in LP, should I suppose that this is something related to the earpiece+P2 jack issue that KK ignored, but LP isn't dealing well with? I'm going for a new jack (I think the earpiece issue is caused by it, because it stopped working about the same time my jack was broken beyond repair) in a couple of weeks and this might be solved, but this issue is driving me crazy already. I could live without the earpiece. I could even live without being able to listen to music on my way to work. But it's really sad to need to revert to KK in order to be able to make calls, with the amazing work devs are doing on LP (tried 3 LP ROMs and fell in love with all of them, visual, speed, functionality and stability-wise).
In case nothing works, I considered multi-boot with safestrap, my current LP as "stock" (I don't know if there is a limitation to actual stock FWs in the stock slot at safestrap, could somebody point me this?) and a KK FW (stock or custom, really don't care in this case) for calling. I make few calls a day, but those are very important, so I could spend some time in KK to make calls if I could reboot to LP and enjoy the best of it. Is it possible?
Thanks in advance for any input. Sorry for the long post (I like to give al the details I can and explain my resolution tries and thoughs on the OP to prevent the need to comment a hundred times) and for the awful english.
If your earpiece and 3.5 mm jack are damaged why don't repair your phone?
Safestrap hasn't been compatible since Android 4.4.
And unfortunately you can't downgrade either, not without likely bricking.
But if you're flashing roms, you must have an unlocked bootloader, so why would you need safestrap?
Oh, There's no way to "multi boot" on the moto X.
CM12 call audio updates seem to fix the issue. Will report back after I get my earpiece replaced.

Update: the issue seems to happen if one has a damaged earpiece and installs the whatsapp mic fix. So if anyone out there has this issue, you have to choose: call audio on speakers or recording audio on whatsapp. Will report back, but I have been running for a couple days without issues.
I recently flashed CyanogenMod 12.1 nightly on my droid turbo. I Have had a good user experience so far, although there is only one issue that is really effecting my decision of using this ROM as my daily driver. My phone has no audio during Bluetooth calling and the microphone is not working as well. I'm not sure if this is a known issue or if there is a fix available at this time. I would greatly appreciate any responses in this thread troubleshooting the issue, so we can all resume safe hands-free driving.

Do you happen to be using the 11/29 nightly? I haven't tried any other newer release yet, but I have been able to successfully connect via bluetooth to my car and stream audio. I've had no indication of it failing. The one thing that got me at first when connecting to my car and streaming was that bluetooth has it's own volume control (which I turned up to maximum on my phone). I'm not sure that would explain the microphone though (if it's even related to your issue).

Depends on the bluetooth device you have. My Jawbone ICON earpiece works fine, and my Pioneer car stereo makes calls fine. Other people have had some issues. The dev says he needs a logcat for missing bluetooth configurations.

Also for the bluetooth sound not playing issues, I'll need a logcat for those, since it's possibly a missing configuration for some of them.

And you've gone into the phone audio settings (when it's connected) to make sure your mic audio, etc wasn't turned down? Audio settings change when Bluetooth is connected...
I use Volume Control Plus and put a shortcut on the desktop so I have quick access to all the phone volume settings.

yes I have made sure it is turned up on the head unit and the phone when connected and I have also tested when in a call selecting Bluetooth toggling back and forth from ear piece speaker but no change
This is why I ditched cm12.1 and went back to stock. My bt headset worked with music but no phone calls.

When I first got the new HU it worked fine (actually surprising clear given comments about mics here), but now bluetooth calling doesn't seem to go through the speakers although people on the other end of the line do hear me? Bluetooth streaming of music is fine though which confuses me. Also the sound isn't coming out of the phone itself and the Bluetooth options on the phone have send media and phone checked. So it is like the audio receiving of the call isn't reaching the speakers.
So I am guessing that it seems like something on the software or settings side has got a bit wrong rather than hardware (all I've done there is cut some rear speaker wires to add a hi lo convertor and add power to antenna). Main things I've done on software side since getting this are install add the Xposed Framework, Carservice (uninstalled) , Package Explorer, MTC Keys (disabled) , Xposed MTC (now uninstalled), but I have uninstalled most of this so don't understand how this could be impacting it..
Anyone had anything similar and might know what has caused the bluetooth phone to stop working?
Mine has suddenly decided to stop connecting to Bluetooth at all 90% of the time.
The Bluetooth in these radios is total and utter garbage... that's all I can say.
Went in the car today and everything worked fine!! Very confusing. I'm wondering if it was carservice or one of the other apps after all?
Not sure if it counts but there is a software fix for bluetooth in the Bluetooth mod .. Under hardware mods..
There might be a connection between the Bluetooth stack and other software coming in..
All I know is that this slight change of drivers for us has saved us from doing hardware mods and for now its working perfectly for a number of us..
Check it out if you get problems as a slight chance via settings may fix some of these problems for you.. Worth a try

Cheers- I'll keep this in mind if it happens again - it definitely seemed like a software issue.
My friend has a problem with his galaxy s4 active. His microphone and speaker work perfectly when testing with music and audio recording. But when calling someone the speaker is dead silent and the other person can't hear him. I saw a bunch of threads where they reheat the audio IC and so on. He is running android 5.0.1. Now my question is: is this a software problem and can it be fixed by flashing CM? Thanks for any and all replies.
Edit: If you're wondering I know how to flash custom ROMs and have a lot of experience doing that.
I have the same problem, no sound when call via telephone app. Videos and music are prefect to. The best is when I use WahtsApp and call to someone everything is ok. So I think hardware is ok but something is blocking standard telephone application. I reset my phone (wipe) and reload rom but the problem wasn't gone.
I'm still looking for any solution so maybe someone can help.
Tx
