[Q] Preferred network not sticking Atrix HD - Motorola Atrix HD

Hey Everyone,
I had recently posted about a holoblur problem but need to expand now:
No matter what rom I install (using philz) I have the same issue of not being able to make a preferred network stick. If I go into *#*#4636#*#*, switch to LTE/GSM/WCDMA then hit the home button it will pop 4g data on and work until I reboot the phone. I'm currently on CM11 the feb 17th nightly build.
I've gone through the beginner guides. I've searched the whole XDA forum extensively and the threads usually just end abruptly with no resolution. I could really use a turn in the right direction on this. Is it a baseband issue? Should I be updating from stock baseband of MB886_BP_100740.071.65.04P? Did I miss an instruction when installing a new rom? (System wipe/factory reset, cache wipe, dalvik cache wipe, format /system, mount system, install rom.) Do I have to have the radio off before changing settings or something? If it's something really stupid, I apologize but I've exhausted my resources here. Even if the answer is "This is something that happens and you just have to live with it" I'd be happy to hear a definitive end. Thanks for any insight you can provide.

[Q] CM6 wifi doesnt associate with AP

OK, I have tried absolutely everything. I have scoured the bowels of XDA and cannot find a resolution so please don't say UTFSE.
Ever since the 8/23 nightly on CM6 I cannot get WiFi to work properly. I tried flashing alternative kernels which work fine temporarily. After an extended time the WiFi will stop working randomly. I checked to see if the WiFi sleep policy was set incorrectly which it wasn't.
I have used IntersectRavens, WildMonks, Pershoot's and Cyanogens stock kernels. IR and WildMonks kernels works temporarily. Other people are having the same issues on Google Code. The link to that is https://code.google.com/p/cyanogenmod/issues/detail?id=2211
The logcat for the issue is at https://code.google.com/p/cyanogenmod/issues/attachmentText?id=2211&aid=-2810531155679896350&name=CM6_wifi_bug.logcat.txt&token=1da7e89ef60e0b20b3aa36c3b1af6746 I have flashed alternative ROM's such as PFY, Enomther, MCR, KingKlick's ROMs, Sense ROM's and the WiFi works perfectly. Can someone please help me out as I have been a month without WiFi on CyanogenMod and its driving me nuts?
A. Wrong forum
B. Have you tried the latest nightlies or CM6 Final?

A.) No its not the wrong forum. It is a development issue.
B.) Yes I have tried EVERY nightly and of course CM6 Final.
Thanks for the no help.
Do you have your SSID set to not broadcast, are you using MAC filters, what type of encryption are you using? All things that would get you an answer quicker.
PS. Also, obviously not the right forum as the moderators saw fit to move it to Q&A
PSS. Have you tried doing a full wipe and then installing the latest CM6 nightly (obviously do a nandroid first) to see if there's any issue with a clean install?

Yes my SSID is hidden, I use Mac filters (I checked them), and I'm using WPA2.
I also wiped before I tried every build. I had no issues with ANY other ROM's. I've flashed EVERY build since 8/23 including updates during the day and still can't get it to work. I've also formatted my SD card every different way also.
P.S Your absolutely right
Well, with the extensive security you have set on your network, may I ask; why are you still hiding your SSID? It seems a little overkill and doesn't really solve keeping a hacker out of your network if they really wanted in as every single wifi-analyzer application can detect hidden SSID's (netstumbler, kismet, wardrive, etc). Does the problem still exist if you turn back on broadcast SSID?
PS. When you say wipe, are you doing a full wipe or just a wipe of dalvik and cache?

First of all I know it's easy to find the Mac addresses and spoof them blah blah. My router has been working fine and with all my other electronics. If it was a problem with the network then SenseUI and non-CM ROM's wouldn't work either. Also wipe as in everything. I've been doing this since the G1 came out.
That's why I didn't want this question in Q&A. I'm not trying to troubleshoot a problem with wiping or flashing a ROM. I attached a logcat so a DEVELOPER could look at it. It's a problem that cant be solved by wiping or flashing or my network settings. I have been at this for a month. I'm also not the only one having this issue as you can see at Google Code. A couple of people are having this issue not just me.
EDIT: MOD'S - Can you please move this topic back into Nexus One Development please? I believe they would be able to help me better over there. Thanks
I did see this being discussed for awhile in the CM6 final thread and I think they came to the conclusion of just broadcast your SSID for now. It's a known bug and set to Low priority on the tracker. That's about the best you can hope for at the moment. Might I also suggest that you post this issue in the official CM forums? You might get more of a response from the actual developers over there.

[Q] Open Recovery noob questions

Hi there,
sorry if this message is not in the right forum section, feel free to move it anywhere.
I put it here because it's somehow related to milestone.
I am planning to update my Milestone with a custom ROM, using OR to make a nandroid backup.
And now the questions: sorry I am a little noob and tried to understand everything reading on forums. There is something I still can't figure out.
1) I found 3 different Open Recovery out there: GOT, Androidiani and Srilakz_CZ's
I picked up the GOT (v 2.01) since it seems the most recent build, is it a good choice? Already installed it and it seems working.
2) GOT OR, start an automated backup process on first boot. What does it backup exactly? Is it a nandroid backup already?
3) About memhack: I noticed that in Androidiani's OR (this should be also available in GOT's but couldn't find it already in the menu) there is also this "memhack" that moves dalvik cache from /data to /cache.
What are the cons of doing it? Is there a reason why this isn't a stock ROM option or they just simply didn't think about that?
I think that I'll have more questions in the future.. in the meanwhile thank you!

Anyway to update CyanogenMod without losing everything?

Every time I update the cyanogenmod rom, it resets my phone and lose all installed programs. Have to re-install everything. Is there some other way to keep updating without reinstalling everything?
Shouldn't happen, but use titanium backup.

You're doing it wrong? You're clearing /data and /cache.
Also, wrong forum
Wrong Section!!!
Next Time Just Wipe cache/Dalvik Cache
Apologies for posting in the wrong section. Last time I posted in the Q&A forums abount cyanogenmod people said to post in the dev section!
You shouldn't lose anything when upgrading a cyan ROM. Just flash overtop and good to go.
Maybe I've been clearing data and cache? The latest version of CM7 seems to have an issue with screen rotation. Running C7.0.0 RC2-N1 and it doen't want to go horizontal or vertical at times. Have enjoyed the rom but need something more stable. Any recommendations?
CM7 nightly 41 working great

[Q] Freaked out about Problem (after downgrading)

Hi Guys,
I am a complete noob at technical stuff but I did read a bunch of stickies before deciding to reach out for help. Anyhow I updated my phone about a week ago using Odin and a Samsung International ICS Release (I think it was the Germany One). Anyhow I Used it for a while and noticed there were some glitches, so I decided to go to the -->
[STOCK ROMS] N7000 All stock ROMs + install + Root guide All at 1place,Latest ICS LP
Forum to downgrade my phone, everything went smoothy and I downloaded and flashed? the 2.3.6 (Hong Kong January 2012 wipe) version to my phone. However after it loaded for the first time, this morning I kept getting the error the process android.phone has stopped working, android.calander has stopped working, and a few more.
So yes, I am stuck, and I am kind of freaking out. sorry I am such a noob but if anyone can help me it'll be greatly appreciated!!
Did you do full wipe? Or did you wipe cache and dalvik?
Sorry what does that mean? I just flashed from the roms and followed the instructions
I would paste a screenshot to help you out to show you where those settings are, but I don't have a working phone right now. Anyway, those settings should in be in your Recovery under "wipe menu" or something similar. Once you go the menu, you would see "dalvik," "cache," "data," etc. Someone please correct me if I am recalling this wrong.
I would ask you to find "advanced" in the recovery menu and choose "fix permissions" and reboot before you wipe dalvik, cache and data.

Q&A for [ROM][4.4.4][GCC 4.7][Spirit ROM v1.5 OFFICIAL][i9000]

Thanks for understanding and for helping to keep XDA neat and tidy!
insufficient storage for PA Gapps mini modular
Hi,
My first time replacing the ROM, to re-invigorate an old handset.
I finally managed to get SpiritRom-4.4.4-v1.5-20141013-galaxysmtd flashed from the stock Gingerbread (heimdal was being nobbled by the ModemManager). It works great! When I try to install pa_gapps-modular-mini-4.4.4-20141011-signed.zip via SD from CWM-based Recovery v6.0.5.1 it complains that I only have 251891KB available and it needs 261836KB. Is there a way around this? Am I doing something wrong? I have "wiped the data/factory reset", "wipe cache partition" and done the same for the dalvjik cache. Thanks.
After update from 1.5 to 1.6 I cant go back from app drawer to main screen using back button.
Someone else experiencing that kind of problem?
Or any solution (without wipe)?

Try wiping cache and dalvic cache might help. Or flash rom again with just cache and dalvic cache wipes. else your looking at a full wipe...
there is an app here on XDA called "button remapper". if you find it use the normal version not the version for galaxy s. You might be able to reset your buttons ...maybe

Thanks
It's like I had bought a new phone, so it works very well with this room, thank you very much!
Incoming call is show in notification bar if my phone is unlocked; I must to open notification bar to answer the call. How to set to normaly answer or with volume key or power key? My power key is set to close the call and I want to answer calls too.
Go to the phone app -> settings -> untick "calls in background"
Any new updates coming to this ROM? I don't want lollipop, just some optimizations and bug sqashing, may be.
Gt-i9000 help!!!!
Hi everybody!
I have the legendary I9000, running Gingerbread 2.3.6 XXJVU, and kernel version Semaphore_2.5.0, rooted and superuser access. Also I have CWM recovery mode, Semaphore CWM Recovery v5.0.2.7. The problem is, that this android version is very slow and laggy, and I want to flash a smoother and faster rom. Is this SPIRIT ROM ok, for what I want, or do you recomend another one? If you do recomend this one, is it possible flashing it into my device, following your tutorial, or do I have to do something else??
I am sorry for bothering, but, since I am a newbie, I need help!!!!
Thanks in advance!!
