i have done the same , but does that will unlock the 3g or Data connection
it's unlocked but am unable to USE the 3g
That unlocks the ability to use a sim. You still need to program the proper apns and set the phone in gsm mode.

I think that wont work for me, because Verizon change the unlocking code, from motorola unlocking code, to a verizon unlocking code... that kind of webs give motorola unlocking code TT_TT
Have you tried it?

Hi. I am from Argentina and I bought a Customized Moto X from Moto Maker(AT&T). I have to unlock the phone for use it in my country. The bands are the same so that isn't a problem.
What page is the better for unlock the AT&T Moto X?
Thanks
Just go with the cheapest one you can find on eBay. I think I paid around $4 USD for my code. Most have money back guarantees so you don't lose anything if it doesn't work.

Yeah, that may be true. I have yet to receive a bad code, though, and I've always just done the cheapest listing on eBay for my codes.
Cellunlocker.net used them, only paid 7.99 and got the code in around 2 hours

A second vote for Cellunlocker - did two yesterday @ 8 bucks a piece. Codes came within a couple of hours.

Yeah, mine is unlocked and running on T-Mobile right now. I purchased from ripco-unlocks on eBay. It was only like $5 when I bought it, but they seem to have raised the price to $12 now.

No, but I don't see how that would make any difference. An XT1058 is an XT1058. The unlock code depends on the IMEI and those are all different regardless of whether the phone was the standard store model or a customized MotoMaker one.
Im buying one from T-mobile just to get a custom moto x cellunlocker.net wants $25. Guess i need to look somewhere else
I believie that T-Mobile version is sim unlocked so you don't need to buy any unlock codes.

Hi, anyone here have recommended website that provide the unlock code for moto X att? Just bought it a 3

Hi, I'm also from Indonesia and got my AT&T Moto X 2 weeks ago.
I've been searching through this forum for the recommended unlock site. Tried to contact them and confirm their delivery time before deciding which one I would place my order to. Most of the sites replied that there are some issues with the AT&T unlock service and they would need several days to come back with the code.
I then decided to contact AT&T customer service and request the unlock code for my Moto X, got it for free
If your Moto X is a non-contract device, maybe you want to give it a try while waiting from cellunlocker to get back to you. Good luck !
@deviantartjr, I have sent a PM to you.
Maybe it helps.
Good Luck!

so they just give it to you the unlock code for free ? but can you handle all the bloatware thing's without you rooted it ? cause I'm thinking about getting iPhone 5s, cause I can feel there's too much going on with android device nowadays, and is your at&t moto x is non-rooted version ? and how was it, do you feel any lag so far ?

Yes, I told them that I bought the phone when I was in the US for business trip and used it with AT&T Gophone prepaid card. I'm now back to Indonesia and would like to use it with local simcard and they gave me the unlock code
I got mine rooted using jcase's pnwmymoto and use the steps in the other thread to protect the root after OTA update. I can say that bloatware in AT&T Moto X is minimal, only myATT, visual voicemail, and AT&T phonebook. I can't uninstall them but I disabled myATT & visual voicemail. only AT&T Phonebook is the annoying one sometimes it will try to connect to AT&T but still manageable.
I don't feel any significant lag at the moment, I can feel slight lag after installing xposed framework but the ability to customize the phone is worth that slight lag.

Hi,
Could someone who already possessed this phone take a look for me and tell me whether it has original sip (internet calling) option enabled? It should be in the phone menu and look like in the attached picture. Thanks.

You can refer to this thread :

Credits to both JCase & Dark9781
you can only do it if your Moto X has not been updated with the latest OTA, or if you purchase a new one make sure you check the System Version first.

Hi there. i bought a Moto X from motorola's website by choosing ATT with no contract. How did you get the code? Did you call them? to whom did you talk? actuallly i talked to customer care regarding this unlock issue, they told me that i have to activate the phone first which means $36 at first bill and wait for 60 days to meet the requirements mentioned at that page www .att .com/ deviceunlock/ client/ en_US
The customer care also said that they can't unlock it since i am not a ATT customer and don't have SSN.
I am stuck here. How can I get the code free? initially i thougt they would give me it free. Maybe i talked to wrong people.

How was the eBay sellers feedback? Kinda sounds like you got scammed. Unless they stated all that in the item description?

If he didn't say anything upfront....you can contact eBay if he won't refund you. They may force him to refund you. Also...negative feedback left on eBay can definitely tarnish his reputation there. But I wouldn't do that until you try to work it out with him.
Again tho...if he stated it had a bad imei ...then you're plain out of luck.

We need a sticky that says not to buy a Sprint Moto X for anything other then using it with Sprint. They are different then pretty much all other Moto X's, there are no unlock codes for them.
Yeah...that's ridiculous. LOL
So....for xda people for sure....don't buy sprint, at&t or Verizon. (Regular model)

Sprint use CDMA technology. Send it back and get a refund. You need to use a GSM phone, buy the T-Mobile / unlocked model of the Moto X.

I have a Droid 4 That I bought off ebay, the seller said that it was gsm unlocked, but after further research I have discovered that is not true. There have been posts here in the past that have talked about this topic, but I have no idea on how to go about it. The old dead post i found on some droid forum said you could change the rom, but only if you had gingerbread (mine is Jelly bean), and also all the links are dead. I know this is a unusual request for such an old phone, but any help would be much appreciated. Thank you for your time.

On a different Forum site; there was a whole tutorial. I would put a link to it but, usually sites don't like it when you direct to other sites. I was called droid forum. It appeared when I searched gsm droid 4 on google. On that forum there seemed to be progress, but it was so long ago all the links on it are dead, and the users are no longer there.

That is not true. At least at present, it may have been before. Or it is just an incomprehension related with locked bootloader without any way to unlock it and kexec being used as a workaround.
The Motorola Droid 4 has unlocked GSM everywhere except USA where it is locked to Verizon (or its MVNO, if device comes from them).
As far as I know there is no way to "fully" unlock the GSM - to use it with other carrier in the USA.
So, I will ask from a different perspective: What exactly problem do you have with the device? What are the symptoms? What do you want to do/achieve with the device?
