which is best file hosting site according to you and why ???
For me Devhost is the best. Not sure why, but I quite enjoy the fact there's no intrusive ads, or captchas (hope I spelled that right). Browsing through files to download is really as well, and it would be perfect if you're working on a ROM or the like and plan to have future updates. All your downloads would be conveniently in the same place! Admittedly, I've never developed a ROM nor uploaded anything to Devhost, but I have never seen a complain about it or server crashes before

I've used HostGator for years (about 4 years now, to be exact), and have never had any major problems with them. Yeah, they've had occassional outtages, but have been online about 99.5% of the time, and been prompt with fixing any problems that come up.
They're fast, efficient, offer cPanel (and all of the stuff that comes with), and even SSH access. The prices are pretty good, and customer support is great. You can be up and running within an hour of purchase, and know that you're backed by a quality company.
Never use godady.com, they totally freak you out..

Google Drive and DropBox for me... :good:
4Shared: is perfect!
Nice management for files!
2Shared: is also good because there are no ads or maybe a few little ones.
For my friends am i using 2shared and for big files and much files am i using 4Shared for the management like i said!
To give you another one that works:
Zippyshare: it has much ads but i awesomely good working
Like you see in one of my older posts ( datafilehost.com )
That stays the best one and i´ḿ using that always and as second mirrors am i using 4shared and 2Shared and sometimes Zippshare!
Only Hosgator and GoDaddy are the providers that I trust. I think that they have proven themselves over the years already.

4shared is not permitted on XDA though. Requires registration to download... To its site, or a social media site.
Either is anything else requiring any kind of registration.
And any pay per click advertising links are out too.
Only sites that go directly to the download, without clicking ads, or accounts on any site, are permitted.
Food for thought. :good:
Edit: one more... Sites that contain free paid apps (warez) are not allowed either.
Hostinger. It has free domain .xyz, name with it looks cool.
Personally I use Dropbox. These days it has a public share function that doesn't require registration (you can simply close the popup.) Google Drive is also an option.
Zippyshare also works well, particularly for larger files. It doesn't require registration for a speed above 10Kbps, unlike most. I have to share a lot of large files, Zippy works well if you can't use cloud storage. Haven't seen a lot of advertising on it, but then I'm using Adblock and Noscript.
And then there's the regular file hosts, uploaded.net, uploadfiles.eu, tusfiles.net, turbobit.net, userscloud.com, etcetera.
Of course it's not a good idea to use any filehosting site that features advertising when you send the link to someone who's technologically handicapped. For those I just use WeTransfer, because the idiots kept clicking on the fake Download buttons....

LOL Yes, there's sites that are known for Warez.... Not allowed.
Dropbox and similar hosts are not really "host sites".... So that's a little different.

Looks good but if you want some constructive critiscism the fonts used for the title and subtitle doesn't fit the rest of the site. Also the effects applied to those two are too "complicated" (for a lack of a better word). It needs cleaness and simplicity. And last but not least hehe there is no connection between the black header with the two titles and the rest of the site (i.e. there's no blue in the titles but there is in the rest of the site. There are other ways of connecting the two parts though). Other than that it looks good
Thank you for the criticism. Every tip is a good tip

You don't mean generated. You mean it's a CMS. I make "generated" sites for a living, and by generated I mean that I write both client and server-side code that generates a complete client-side website. Generated means it's created on-the-fly, as and when requested, not that it's made by a core application with a bunch of plugins, such as joomla, drupal, wordpress (as used in the case of the OP's site) or vBulletin (as used for XDA, as pointed out by Max).
Anyway, surely the content matters more than the site construction. If you judge sites by the way they're built then you should..
Stop that, it's silly.
Seriously get out in the world and see some of the amazing development tools that absolutely honk all over "note pad" (which is actually called notepad).
Get off the internet because it is not what you are looking for.
If you don't like the site then just say so, but judge it correctly - on it's content.

Maybe this isn't off topic, but as I am noticing more and more websites either getting taken down, or taking themselves down out of fear of being taken down(megaupload vs filesonic), I wonder if there is a safe place for the developers in these forums to host their content? I mean, this is pre-SOPA..
Yes, quite a bit of what we share on XDA is knowledge, so I know the site won't be totally effected.. but with websites that I'm sure some devs have been using going offline, I have a feeling this is going to have an effect in a bigger way.
Thoughts? Opinions? Please no flaming.. I believe this is a legit concern. Just tonight I tried to find 3 different legitimate downloads that were all hosted on sites that no longer work- I see 404 errors in many of our futures..
Well man, I woke up today earlier to download some stuffs from filesonic but what the hell! Its been disabled sharing!
The most worrisome part of this is that the US is extending it's imperial grasp into nations outside the bounds of the domestic legislation that is looking to empower these draconian actions. It's not as though the management of megaupload were terrorists, perpetrators of genocide or repeat offenders of violent crimes. And yet, they were extradited. The greatest threat to Americans and, others in the Western world are US corporations and elected officials. Osama was WAY less dangerous than these people.
Filesonic has serious problem now... i am very displeased.
This is getting ridiculous, a bunch of sites including uploaded.to and filesonic have limited functionality after the megaupload scare Honestly wth

Torrents, nothing illegal about torrents
They know alotta people use file sharing for legit reasons aswell. Piracy is a issue for them but its copout to gain more control over people & profits. Just because u dl something doesnt mean it was an actual lose. Its been plenty threads online where people have said the album/movie isnt even worth the bandwidth. With the net ur not forced to listen or watch the same ol **** ova & ova. They dont want more successful indepenant artist in movies nor music like tyler perry, strange music, etc creating competion.
Lol, so in Poland they are signing ACTA (similar to US's SOPA) today, and tis is the website of the Central Anticorruption Bureau. lol http://biuro-gov.cba.pl/
While DropBox is a very useful service, I'm in search of free cloud-based storage for my mom to host her HD videos of her granddaughter... She has hit the 2.5GB cap with just a few files, and I refuse to pay for extra storage, when I know that better options certainly exist... I'll just setup a file server at my house if I have to... But that's not practical for her uses... She was trying to email a 300MB video and getting angry that the server was rejecting it, LMAO!!!
So does anyone know of any other free cloud-based storage she could use instead? As much storage space as possible is obviously a super plus, with the ability to publicly link to them, and the ability to stream them, rather than download them would be great too, but not required...
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Brian

Questions and Answers
Box.net does 50GB accounts for free. Not sure if there's a file-size limit, but you can make folders public via a URL. There's definitely no streaming though, but still... 50GB!!
I'm just waiting for Google to sort out Drive and give me more than 5GB free. I will pay for more when I need it, but I expect they'll have upped the cap by that point as I only really use it for visual studio and eclipse projects, and they're basically text files.
There's also a referral thread in off-topic, where people give you their links to join up so you both get a bit of extra space. I know of sugarsync too, but I'm not sure what their deal is. Worth a google at any rate.

This game is exclusive for LG phones and it's free on the LG Market, but they updated their APK for working it on every phones
I've tested on Xperia Z and that works perfectly as well.
OP - This game will be taken down as its warez.
The game was free and pre-installed on the old LG's around a year or 2 ago (Only Android version to have the multiplayer feature and was only made for Gingerbread as 90% of the time would not work in 4.0 or above).
Since then it was released on Google play in Japan only for all device's at a price of around £3/$4-5 (versions 1.00.00/1.00.01/1.00.02 this version posted).

Noway, that fact that works on other mobile doesn't make the thread warez, it's for LG phones, but that works on other phones.
Capcom decided to remove it from google market for blocking people DLing data.
That's for LG phones, if that works on your one that make me guilty for that?

This version is not the LG free promotional copy, the LG version only fully works on Gingerbread (4.0 and above the game has no backgrounds or other major graphical glitches). You also have to mod the original LG version to fit your screen size.
The 1.00.02 version you have posted is the Google play version (Has no Bluetooth Multiplayer like the LG version). This version was made for all device's and was a paid Google market application.
BTW this was only a friendly Warning as does not matter to me (I don't own or have a part in XDA's policies). Was just giving you a heads up

:good: You're welcome, if this thread is deleted i'll just repost it on my website to not break the rules here.
As stated, this constitutes warez. Links are to be removed from the thread and the thread itself is to be locked out.
op,
I suggest that if you do post it on your site, that you do not link to it from either your signature or make any posts about it elsewhere. We have very strict warez rules on xda, and that includes linking to outside warez sites. While we cannot prevent you from posting whatever you want on your site, we can and will prevent you from linking to it.
Warez distribution of any kind is subject to infractions and/or bans on xda.
Thank you for your understanding.
Thread closed.
I think it would have to be either NetSurf or a terminal browser, like links, w3m, lynx or elinks. Firefox is a sinking ship and so is any forks of it and Chrome is obviously not safe, but the best fork of it would be Ungoogled-Chromium, which even then that's not saying it's foolproof, because of the massive codebase that comes with Chromium and the fact that Google is still being supported by proxy. Pale Moon is starting to head in the wrong direction also, and smaller projects like Otter Browser and Suckless Surf, while promising, suffer from small dev teams, little to no addon support and lack their own engines and instead rely on Goooooogle and Crapple instead. But even then, you would have to wean yourself off of the modern web and stick to websites like neocities or wiby.me if you were to use stuff like NetSurf or elinks.
Also, what about email? I'd try RiseUp or Disroot w/ GPG encryption using the Claws webmail client w/ KeePassX or KeePassXC for generating email passwords stored on a removable drive. Although I heard self-hosting is also decent. Which is better?
Brave for surfing/sites, Samsung browser for vids. Pretty much bulletproof unless you do stupid things.
Gmail. ColorNote to save bookmarks.
And this dns setting mod:

Thank you for posting this and letting me know about Brave Private Web Browser, I was using Google Chrome then Samsung Internet prior to this. And honestly, I feel like I really missed out for a long time, thinking Samsung Internet sucked when I knew nothing about how it worked. I prefer it now, but I'll start using the Brave Browser as my default browser from now on.
And thanks for the Private DNS information!

You're welcome. Welcome to XDA
Samsung is good for vids if you add some ad blockers from the Galaxy store. Just mind the download folder for unauthorized downloads.
Had a trojan preloader slip by Samsung somehow. It died in that folder
When in doubt try to back out of a bad website, if that fails close the browser tab, if that fails close the browser. If all that fails clear cache. If nothing gets it go full nuke and clear browser data. For over 2 years nothing has made it in again... I check the download folder at least once a day nonetheless.
Brave gets tarded with vids on the borders and I like multiple browsers anyway. The Samsung browser I have more configured for streaming vids. Brave is better for surfing, it's pretty much bullet proof; nothing has ever slipped by it.
My Brave browser has over a hundred open tabs, it don't care

Thank you for all your help, I'll be sure to remember that process in case I fall into a hole like that again.
Lol.

I'm spilling black coffee as I post
I feel a thread merge a-coming. Or post like the sharks fed; thread frenzy! Or like free ranging long horns graze... those other browser threads were getting like bathroom wallpaper anyway.
