[Q] bypass password - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have an HTC one I am trying to bypass the password screen on. It is the screen that requires a numeric password. I don't want to reset and lose anything on the phone. The phone was my son's and he passed away recently and would like all his pictures and videos and such off of it, don't want to hard reset. Can anyone tell me how, if I can do this ? I did get the sim unlock from t-mobile but apparently there are 2 levels, one for the sim and one for the phone. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

As long as the phone is on can you not connect it to your computer using a usb lead, then in my computer go into the HTC On drive and then copy everything from the phone to your computer?

Help - looking for automatic sim-unlocking program

I have in mind a program that does what Sprite Backup does - unlocking SIM during reboot (aka Soft Reset) without the user having to tap in the password everytime.
This need came about because I have both a SIM password *and* a phone password and it's getting tiresome having to tap in both passwords after every soft reset.
If anyone could find a program that performs this function it'd be greatly appreciated.

Whats wrong with going into settings => phone and settings => lock and removing them? I don't understand why you need a program to accomplish this as it's built in (at least in the HTC branded TyTN II with a UK Vodafone SIM).
the reason for the two passwords is to lock two assets - firstly the phone, then the SIM card. but even if both are the same, the phone still asks for its entry TWICE, every time the phone's rebooted. the problem is made even worse if you have a large number of startup programs - it might be more than 1 minute before the phone's ready to accept the second password (of the SIM). give it a try, you'll see what I mean.

I don't understand how this can be of benifit if you want a system that automatically puts in the required passwords. I have a 'lightly loaded' setup and don't use a password on either the SIM or phone - but then I don't have any secret/confidential data. If I did have confidential data on my TyTN II, I wouldn't want a password thats automatically entered on boot. I'd also put as much of the sensitive stuff as possible on the memory card and use encryption. I have tried locking my phone with a password in the past (just playing about) but if my phone is stolen/gets into the wrong hands, I'd have it and its SIM blocked by my operator.
Maybe I'm missing something here but if you want a program to automatically enter your phone and SIM PIN, then why even have the password in the first place? The purpose of either PIN is to lock out the use of either your phone or the SIM card. If I steal your phone and s/r and you have a program automatically enter your PIN passwords, then it's just like not having a PIN at all. There is no security there.
You're asking for a program to defeat the reason the passwords are there for in the first place.

hard reset cause phone to lock

Can someone please help a n00b? I traded my G1 phone today to someone for their iphone. I popped my AT&T sim card in the iphone, works great. They put their AT&T sim card in the G1 (which I unlocked a day ago, and it was fine) but it prompted them to enter in their gmail user/pass. It says it cannot log in because they are not connected to a network. I was thinking that since I reset the phone back to factory settings that it re-locked it. Possible or no?
Thanks!
they need to read the forums on how to activate a G1 without a data plan. or you do and tell them. I highly recommend the search function.

To bypass the password, you need to hard reset the phone.
Press and hold the two soft keys while doing a soft reset. This will erase all your data, which is a consequence of someone else trying to bypass your password , they won't find anything.
If you pin-locked your sim, you get three tries to input the right pin. If you fail three times, the sim locks and you need to get the PUK code from your provider , but be careful, if you input the PUK code wrong ten times, the sim is permently locked and you wil have to purchase a new sim.
Hi,
I am really glad that somebody try help me, but try read my post .... password in phone, no hard reset, no synchr., it has nothing with SIM card or PIN, PUK code.
It is passw for phone, SIM card is OK I use it in second phone.
Anybody can help me, please.
You can't get pass the password on the phone unless you know what it is. This is to prevent access from third parties if your phone is stolen.
As mentioned above. What you need to do is a hard reset. This will however WIPE ALL YOUR DATA but it will also remove the password.
You have mentioned it won't sync. This is a feature of the password but that also means that when you do do your hard reset, by putting it back into the computer you can restore most if not all of your phone book entries.
Otherwise keep guessing!

Mi3W - "Phone has been Locked, try again in 119 mins"

hi,
I broke my mi3's screen a few weeks ago and tried to replace it, but couldn't find a working one. so I decided to take a backup of the data by connecting to system via pc suite. But PC Suite wont work if the device is locked. So I tried to unlock it and disable pattern, by connecting an USB Mouse through OTG. But by this time I already forgot the pattern. Tried to unlock with what I remember, with several wrong attempts, now the phone shows "Phone has bee Locked, try again in 119 mins".
Just yesterday I found a Display online from a phone which is dead and replaced mine with that. Now the touch screen is working fine. Somewhere I saw that after 4 unsuccessful attempts by connecting at least 4 dots I will be able to reset the pattern using Gmail or Mi account. But the real pain is, just after one, please note just ONE unsuccessful attempt the screen Shows "Phone has been Locked, try again in 119 mins"
I know both my Mi account and Gmail User ID and Password.
Tried Android Device Manager to Lock my phone with a new pin, it didn't Help, says "Since Google has verified that a screen lock is already set, the password you entered won't be needed"
I have a lot of important data in the phone, I don't wanna hard reset my Phone, Please Help....

flash twrp and wipe data partition without wiping sdcard
this will wipe apps+appdata and won't effect files in sdcard
or switch to twrp and enable MTP after connecting a usb .now u can acesses all of your files
Or delete with twrp files relative to lock pattern

Phone locked, PIN not recognized

Hello,
TL;DR: I cannot unlock my Huawei P10 device, PIN code was not changed by me, but the device does not recognize it. Need to remove PIN or push forward without resetting.
Long version: I was driving with my device connected through Android Auto, Spotify was playing and I was tracking an order through Uber Eats that should arrive a bit after I got home.
After parking the vehicle, the music died, and so did the phone. After taking the cable out and trying to restart the device, it came back up.
However, even though it accepts the SIM card PIN, it does not accept the Screen unlock PIN (which is actually the same). After rebooting, it still does not accept the PIN and I'm not waiting for 1h before I can try a new code.
In order to insert the SIM PIN, I have to press OK, but the screen PIN does not, I just add the PIN and it unlocks.
Can anyone make heads or tails out of this situation and help me recover access to the smartphone without doing a factory reset and losing all the unsaved data?

Give your girlfriend her phone back if you feel insecure about your relationship it's better to talk to her about it, if you can't do that then it's best to just leave
Also if that is your phone and not your girlfriend's then you might be giving it a hard reset unless you have developer options open with enabled USB debugging and a computer nearby

It's not my wife's phone, it's mine Plus, if I wanted to do such a thing, I just need to use finger unlock
I do have developer options open, not sure about the USB debugging, but it might not be because I've been trying with ADB and whatever commands I could find, but so far no success....
