Hey guys! I'm kinda stumped here. :crying:
I wanted to restore my phone back to the stock developer edition RUU (Brightstar US) but it threw an error 155. So I tried the Google Play Edition RUU but I guess I should of downloaded a newer version because mine was on 4.3. As usual it asked to flash the file again but it didn't work. (waiting to device)..
The GPE bootloader was already flashed with the OS: coloured red. Fastboot commands wouldn't work so I boot up into Android and I thought of flashing the ENG HBOOT via ADB. Which worked. Alas fastboot commands still won't work and I can't get my device to boot into anything else except into the bootloader.
If you need more information just ask. Any help is greatly appreciated! :fingers-crossed:

Thanks for helping me out. I couldn't enter recovery before. But I may be able to get the fastboot drivers working and flash CWM. :highfive:
I'll let you know how it goes. :good:

Hi all.
I have CWM Touch installed, but I can't run ADB Sideload to flash a ROM. I just keep getting an error that the device can't be found. I have no OS installed, so my phone won't boot up. I can't access the phone's memory as that doesn't work with the One. I also can't flash a RUU to return to factory settings as I have S-ON and am on HBOOT 1.54.Is there anything I can do to fix this and get my phone back working?
Many thanks.

First try to reinstall you Drives for ADB and HTC so you know it's not a Driver issue. If that doesn't work try using a different PC and see if you still get the same issues.
And also try using HTC One AIO to flash TWRP or something to see if you can Sideload a rom then. Because AIO toolkit uses the fastboot menu to flash Recovery images.
If you can flash a different Recovery then try to flash a rom and see if that works.
If not let me know what the results are

Got it! Thank you. I reinstalled the drivers. Weird though because ADB was working fine before. The drivers must have corrupted or maybe it's a Windows 8 issue. Sideloading the ROM now, will let you know if it is a success.

No problem man, Glad to hear you got it working again
I had unlocked HTC One with Sense, which I had done 4.3 RUU install to convert it to GPe. Fast forward to now... I thought I'd sideload the 4.4 update, and during that process I got
set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed
installation aborted
I thought, great. No problem, I'll just do the traditional RUU again, I'll be fine.
BUT...
Now I can't boot into old OS. The phone keeps rebooting to the recovery. I tried to wipe-data from recovery, which didn't help. I also tried factory reset from HBOOT, and that didn't do anything either.
I am able to get into HBOOT and Stock recovery, so I know the phone is not bricked. I guess, I never had to deal with this situation before so I'm not sure how to get out of this loop. Is there a way I can get my phone to recognize on my computer, so that I can do the ADB / Fastboot commands?
Help!
PS: It might help to know what my device situation is atm. I have Unlocked bootloader with HBOOT 1.54, S-OFF
Have you tried to run the 4.3 or 4.4 RUU file from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2358781 ?

To do that, my phone would have to be recognized by the pc first, right? If I plug in via USB, and run adb devices I don't get any devices listed.
At what point should my phone be recognized by my laptop? The phone never goes to the main OS, so is there some way to get it to be recognized on my laptop USB while in HBOOT or Recovery? I have the stock recovery. The top of the recovery screen say s"Android system recovery <3e>"
I'm following along in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2544199 thread for now. A few things are similar. If I see anything different, I'll comment here again to see if anyone can help.
As you are S-Off, you can put the phone in fastboot mode, connect to computer and run the fastboot flash ruu twice.. either 4.3 or 4.4 RUU.
Update your covery twrp to v2.6.3.3 I updated after the looping problem and it worked, it installed with out the boot loops
Fastboot Flash the 4.3 boot.img
Then
Fastboot erase cache
Boot recovery
Wipe data
Flash 4.3 rom

I got as far as flashing the RUU. I ran fastboot oem rebootRUU and then fastboot flash zip RUU-<more-stuff>.zip. The progress on my console shows the process completed successfully, but the phone is stuck at almost 99% on the progress bar. I'll wait for a while and see if it finishes. How long would be too long to wait?

Haah! I should've followed through the complete instructions... I ended up giving the fastboot reboot and it started the boot. I couldn't reply sooner due to new-member 5-minute restriction.
Learned something good, something new today. And the phone WORKS! Thanks for your help.
Great news. Hit the thanks button if you dont mind! and keep the S-Off. that is your savior!
Cheers.

Have you read the first post in the TWRP thread? Did you follow the instructions? Have you tried flashing the update? Did it fail? Was there an error message? Have you installed the latest HTC Sync Manager? Are you running Windows? What version? Are you plugged into USB3 port? Do you have a recent version of fastboot? Are we supposed to guess everything?

I apologize for my post, I've been at this for four days and i'm about ready to toss the phone in the bin.
If you mean the thread about HTC dumlock, yes i tried that and i think i did it right following the instructions, But it didn't work.
And i believe i followed the instructions right and tried flashing the update but it also didn't work.
I have installed the latest HTC Sync Manager , I'm also running Windows 8 but i'm working on a Windows 7 laptop because my Win 8 laptop when i install fastboot and adb and put the phone into bootloader the HTC isn't recognized no matter what i try.I also don't know whether it's a usb 2 or 3 port. I'm looking for the latest version of fastboot now........And the HTC Sync Manager so i can use my Win 8 computer.
Also on Win.7 comp. when i try to put in a cmd eg (adb devices= list of devices.it doesn't list anything) so i assume my htc isn't there.
Put the phone in fastboot mode, you need to run the command on your pc:
fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-<version>.img
Saying "it didn't work" is not useful. Was there an error message?
Use the Win7 laptop.

ok, i was typing it wrong, it seems to be working now.
So the update of TWRP worked fine...... thanks for your help.
Now i'm trying to turn S-OFF. When i do the CMD:
adb devices=
*daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037*
*daemon started successfully*
List of Devices attached
C:\fastboot>
Is the phone booted or in bootloader? Adb won't work if it's in fastboot mode.
Windows 8.1 will only work with newer hboot version, 1.55, I think.
Hey guys,
Noob here. I installed the Cyanogenmod yesterday on my HTC One using the Mac Installer. Everything went smoothly, but didn't like it, prefered the stock Sense 5.5 feel.
So I started going back to Sense 5.5.
But I'm stuck.
Here's what I have:
TAMPERED
RELOCKED
S-ON
HBOOT-1.55
OS-3.62.401.1
But thing is, I have no idea if I successfully flashed the ROM or not nor the recovery.img. When I enter bootload and select Recovery the HTC shuts down, so I guess it isn't fully installed.
Moreover, when I try to flash the recovery.img I get a Terminal error saying it cannot open 'recovery.img'.
Any help would be greatly appreciated and sorry for my noobness.

Small update,
Managed to install Clockworkmod, but when i tried to flash the stock rom using fastboot (adb doesn't work, device not shown even though all drivers are installed) i got an error.
Gonna try to flash Android Revolution HD to see if it works, will report back.
So, flashed clockworkmod.
I dont care if I cant get my HTC One to stock, just want it to work.
Wanted to flash Android Revolution 4.3 to my phone, but adb doesnt want to work.
Windows says that the HTC Driver is up to date, version 2.0.7.23.
Rebooted Windows 8 but adb is still not working.
Any help would be greatful,
Thanks.

Are you using adb when phone is in recovery mode?
Ok, I'm obviously new here, so I'm hoping someone might be kind enough to help. I have a T-Mobile HTC One M7 that seems to be stuck in a boot loop and shows a pixelated/distorted line of pixels right under the "htc" logo at boot. The bootloader is unlocked and I have TWRP recovery 2.8.4 installed - I can flash any recovery and send ROMs via adb no problem, but when the phone goes to reboot to complete the ROM set up is when the problem occurs. What's strange is I was running Android Revolution HD 91.1 just fine before this happened - it first happened after I tried to install AdAway. As it is now, I can boot into bootloader or recovery and can navigate just fine, but if I try to simply start up the phone as normal it goes into the bootloop and shows the distorted line of pixels at the htc boot screen. I've tried wiping everything, tried TWRP recovery 2.8.5, tried a couple different ROMs, and the results are the same. Really hoping someone might be able to help. Some information from the bootloader that might help:
S-ON
HBOOT-1.57.0000
OS-6.10.531.10
Also I'm using a Mac (but also have an HP Stream 7 Windows 8.1 tablet if that might help?) Please help!!

Tried it one last time before tossing the phone for good - failed again, then tried again and it worked! (Again I was using an HP Stream 7 tablet with a USB hub for everything, could have been part of the problem) Thank you so much for your help - gotta admit, this custom ROM stuff might not be for me. Thanks again.
