Hi, I have a problem with changing the CSC on my Vodafone branded s3 mini. Its not that big a problem as I can use it with any other sim card. I'm from South Africa and I'm using cell c but I keep losing network, it will go away completely. Then I must reboot to get it back, but it doesn't do this if I use a vodacom sim.
Anyway, my CSC region code is XFV - Vodafone (apparently). I downloaded a XFA (All networks, I believe) ROM from sammobile, I flashed it but when it boots up it shows the Vodafone logo for like a second and then it goes to the normal Samsung boot animation. It almost looks like a glitch and my CSC is still XFV and not XFA. From all the research, I think what I need to do is unbrand/debrand my android, can anyone help me with guides for this if its possible? Or even help me change my CSC to XFA please?

I have downloaded and installed Country/Carrier Date Android PDA CSC
Greece 2012 July 4.0.4 N7000XXLRI N7000OXXLP8
from sammobile .. But it doesnt have the picture in picure feature yet in that version. Also i have noticed that the german version has better upgades and that the battery keeps longer.. So i have decided to install this one .. but i want to know if there is going to be any problem because my phone has a lot of csc codes but not dbt. will there be any problem when i install it??? do i need to choose from the ones that my phone has the csc code installed????

are you sure? I dont want to break it..
Also will it change the csc codes that are installed??
or are they preinstalled fron samsung and they cant be changed ....? Because i would like to change it back to my countrys csc code..
I guess it will remain on ur country's code only cuz when I installed a diff country's firmware on my note the csc retained
As nokiamodeln91 said, csc will remain. It won't cause any problems to have the csc set to anything other than Dbt.

no problem..except may be kies / ota updates.. but then u can always download the latest version from sammobile
Actually if you flash by pc odin or mobile odin the csc code is completely obsolete. It matters for ota/ kies updates only.

I totally agree. When I flashed XXLRT I got from sammobile, and never bothered with Kies again. PC Odin was more reliable, having more control with the download and flashing. The release of Germany updates is also sooner than Kies or OTA for other phone.
Hi Guys!
When I bought my phone it came with an unbranded (no T-mobile bootanim just the funky Samsung one) firmware.
Played with some roms when I decided to make it full stock again but I am unable to find unbranded firmware, only T-Mobile versions for it...
Can you help me maybe with a link or something?
Thanks in advance!
sammobile
Thanks but I am not able to find any... Only branded ones for different countries...

Hi, the DBT version (for Germany) is 100% unbranded and works fine. Other is NEE (Finland). Those two are tested myself and no branding or bloatware present. No issues with OTA or Kies (well, if you're in Europe).

Yes, I have used this ROM on all my S3's and no issues at all. (Voda,Virgin,Orange).
Use Odin and do hard reset before and after flashing!
If you want a ROM which is pretty much close to stock, you could have a look at "The Galaxy Project": http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2125984
It's based on the official Samsung ROMs (not AOSP/CM etc), it looks like the stock ROM, and the only difference is some minor tweaking, completely unbranded, and bloat removal. It's completely international (Europe, Oceania etc) and uses the most current Firmware (4.1.2 XXBMR8).
By the way, here's another location for untouched Firmwares:

No login needed which is helpful.
Hi there. I am using i8750 Samsung Ativ S. I live in Turkey. I am using Turkcell GSM opreatör. Turkcell had a problem with my phone. 2G signal from the phone settings when I do not work. I think the problem may be related to CSC. How do I create CSC?

Have a look on the Sammobile site. Just search for your device and you will see a list of available firmware.
Flash with Odin. There is a great guide to doing this in the S3 mini general forum.

Thanks for the answer.
The problem is that if I put in SamMobile the CSC number, it offers me the same firm that I have already now.
I want to know if I can flash it with an stock samsung firmware, withouth any provider
My understanding is that if you search for your specific model (I1890 or I1890N or I1890L for instance) you will get a long list of firmwares you could use. Probably several of these will be for your country. Any one of these would be suitable for you to use.
I'm no expert though so perhaps someone could confirm this?

download a firmware from a different country that is for your model that will not have the Orange stuff and use this to change the csc to your countries: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.manniakk.cscselector&hl=en
Use other countries or stock I8190N firmware from sammobile as I can see ur model is I8190N
And apps can be changed buts all that boot screen I think they all are in bios

The problem is that in Sammobile I find firmwares with operators or providers.
I want one Stock samsung firmware, like if I bought it unlocked.
Is that possible ?

You would want this one:
GT-I8190N Galaxy S III Mini NFC
PDA: I8190NXXAMJ2
CSC: I8190NBTUAMJ1
MODEM: I8190NXXAMJ2
Added: 2013-11-13
It is the latest S3 Mini firmware for the NFC version.

A friend of mine accidentally soft bricked his S3 I9305T (Telstra Version) trying to root it. Does anybody know where I can find the firmware for this exact phone? Or can normal I9305 Firmware be flashed?
Thanks
If someone could confirm that standard I9305 FW can be flashed that would make this a lot easier.

Do you not know anywhere else maybe? The connection there is extremely slow (top of about 50kb/s) and sometimes fails. I will try again.

Yeah it is slow, you can pay for membership which speeds it up, but I usually leave it overnight to download. You can try samsung-updates.com as well but I think it is much the same.

Yes regular i9305 firmware can be flashed although being Telstra it won't have very good reception as the frequencies are different with Telstra. Flashing a Telstra modem after will help.. Also factory reset is usually a must if flashing stock software

Yeah I ended up getting the FW after about 4 failed downloads. Flashed the correct I9305T firmware (although not the Telstra exact variant, i'd assume it doesn't matter)
