Recently, I flashed my SGS I9000 with DarkyROM v11.0 Black Edition and all went smoothly. I did this while I was in Pakistan for the holidays. When I came back to the UK, I found that my phone wasn't getting any service, not from my old sim or my new sim. My new sim had been activated on the day I got back and it just showed the crossed-out triangle. My old sim was supposed to be working but it wasn't working on the phone for some reason. After a fair amount of hours spent on researching on the problem, I figured that my efs was corrupted. A symptom of this was that my imei had changed and I'm not sure how to get it back.
Samsung Services decided to shut the door in my face and I haven't any solutions as of yet.
What's your take on this? Do you have any solutions to this problem?
All help is greatly appreciated, thank you.
Any one have any solutions to this problem?
Why you did not backup of efs folder before flashing? ...sometimes flashing official gingerbread rom helps in getting imei back, so try that :/
This should help (replace Froyo by a Gingerbread release)

Did it today with my dad's Galaxy S that lost service after installing CM9.

4) Connect your phone to the PC and delete EFS folder on your PHONE

I tried both of your ideas but it just wouldn't restore my imei for some reason. How many times did you flash yours?
I flashed different custom roms I think 4 and kept replacing them with stock rom

Okay, I've hit a new low. You can blame my stupidity for this.
I was looking at xsenman's suggestions and I asked about one of his methods, he told me to use the M110S Repair kit which I downloaded. I opened it up and it shows a bunch files that I had to flash to my phone. While flashing my phone and eventually bricking it, I realised that the M110S is the Korean version and I just tried to flash that firmware onto mine, resulting in a brick. Basically, I hold the power button and it shows the Samsung Anycall logo and that's about the extent of the boot and my capabilities. I cannot go into download mode or recovery mode (via 3 buttons) it just tries to boot up the phone.
I have realized my complete idiocy at this point but I could use anything just to get my phone back up so that I can atleast continue trying to sort out the IMEI.

Ok, this is rather strange and sad to hear , as you made a post in the Korean M110S Forum, my suggestions were for you to use the Korean repair kit at Today, 06:13 AM in response to a post made at Today, 03:07 AM.
But by Today, 07:39 AM, you responded I am referring to the wrong model and by Today, 07:46 AM, I advised you to use the i9000 froyo ROM instead .
So it sad to hear you still used the M110S repair kit knowingly , even after I advised you not to use it, at 07:46 AM today?
Anyway, what you should do is first power down, remove battery, remove SIM Card and Ext SD card, , press power button for a few min, than reinsert battery only and try for download mode or use Methods mention on MY Android Solutions, link below to achieve download mode .
Forget about recovery mode, get download mode and use PIT and full i9000 ROM package, use JVZ or JVU with boot loaders
I, Personally had tested i9000 ROMS on the M110S and spend a few hours flashing M110S repair kit over and over again to recover, so as long as your phone can get into download mode or with a help of a JIG, its not bricked.

At 7:39am, I had already flashed. At 7:30, I discovered that it was a different model. I spent some time trying to fix it before I sent that message.
Also, I'm going to try that jig method, see if it works.

download combo keys may change when OTHER firmware are used on a phone, so you should try different combinations for download mode . For M110S , download mode is home key +power key...give it a try or
1) To enter download mode [volumedown+home+power] or home +power
2) While in this position, insert the battery
I once lost mine, and to get it back, I flashed back the last known good configuration.
Unfortunately sometimes these things happen.
Right, the phone is back onto Gingerbread 2.3.6 after a cheap jig that I ordered forced it into download mode. I then flashed froyo then gingerbread and now I'm back to where I started, no service and a missing imei.
I've had a development!
Okay, so after playing around with the phone, rooting and stuff. I managed to get my 3g working somehow but still no imei, texting or calling. Really strange how I can use internet but not be able to text or call anyone

if you get back on stock rom, wipe everything - samsung won't know
So my question remains
I would try figuring it out via google searches etc - but if you can't you could always send it into samsung.
After installing JellyPlus and Cor Plenus kernel on my Galaxy Mini for program compatibility, I find the rom a little unstable, and wish to retun the phone to its origional status
Using CWM to load new rom gives error of there not being enough room on the device
Using Odin downloader, either the phone is not recognised, or the operation works, but sends the phone into boot loop, depending on the version of Odin I use
Using Kies, well, my phone is not 5570 any more, but a 5360 which is not supported for firmware upgrade
I am computer literate, Pc, Tablets, Windows, Android etc - No, I only thought I was
I have tried many things, and do not see how to revert the phone to factory (ie GT-S5570I STOCK ROM from its current status of GT-S5360)
Please, please help. I am happy to take a big kicking if this is easy, obvious, or many times previously covered - a push in the right direction would be greatly appreciated
Thank you, Paul
If you have bootloop, wipe data from stock recovery. And as I read read your post, you flashed Mini Plus ROM and kernel! So be happy, that your phone works!

What I did.!
My phone was a GT-S5570I
I flashed the following, thinking that it was for my phone - see last bit?!
[ROM][KERNEL][ICS/JellyBean mod] JELLYBLAST V3 for Galaxy MINI/POP PLUS [GT-S5570i]
I am grateful that the phone still works, and very grateful to all of you who have replied
What I would like to know is how to enable enough free space on the phone so that I can flash back to stock 2.3.6 (as it was when I bought it)
should I pretend that it is a pop plus now, and look for solutions from there?
The 'trasto' has let me flash once again to the above rom / kernel, but often I am stuck without carrier - emergency calls only. Other than hat, it works very nicely!
hmm try to flash a kernel made for ur device , coz the kernel has the main properties of ur device for kies to detect, tat shud be ok,wont be requiring much space for kernel flashing i suppose :good:
btw there shudnt besuch errors, the updater script is acually set to swipe everything out b4 cpying the new files into ur rom
or else flash a custom rom, its easy tat way
just flash a firnware through odin

My thoughts exactly!
Can anyone recommend a method - have tried versions 1.87 (flashes, but boot loops afterwards), and 4.38 which does not recognise the phone
What I would really like to know is if there is a way to ´make room´ on the phone so I can flash through CMR - I too thought that a custom rom would clear everything out of it´s way, as did the jellythingyrom which has successfully put android 4.1.1 on the phone

Don't panic my friend ....
and YES, after upgrading to JellyBlast Samsung Kies recognized as 5360 ...
but everything is working well ..
I can backup / restore like normal phone ....
so why do u bother about that ...?
What I think is 5360 has the same hardware like 5570i ...
or maybe JellyBlast was ported from 5360 ... !!!!!
Here , your question is answered ...
U don't have to need the free space as flashing original FW doesn't need to put the file to phone ...

Thank you, and .......... thank you!! I may be being hysterical, but main reason for wanting to go back to original is because the phone now often is stuck with emergency calls only. On rebooting I also sometimes get an Unlock Network screen (should I have unlocked the phone first? Hmm - I have read so much over the last few days that I am not too sure any more. Shall try flashing the original firmware cwm or odin, or both??!! Have you any views on the problems that >I have re the above posts? Kind regards, Paul PS sim works as normal in nokia phone
Hi Paul ...
According to your post I assumed that u have GT-S5570i like mine ...
I don't face any situation like you posted ...
The reason is may be ...
U didn't wipe the Dalvik cache
try wiping and see ...
And for the Network unlock screen ...
What I think is your country or region CSC code is different from the Jellyblast's default CSC code ...
in that case U need to know your original CSC code and need to change back ...
this is what I thought ...
all done and dusted

Bueno, managed to find what I wanted (other than a functioning (for me!) 4.1.1 rom)
Phone back to original status, and only wasted 6 euros on a replacement sim which I didn't need!
Have located ´'stockrom+odin s5570i' zip - if anyone has similar problems can mail it to them
The zip has the PDA, PHONE(MODEM) and CSC all split up, and I zapped the BOOTLOADER as well, just in case
All as I want it, and at least I now know how to recover when I try a 422 Rom next time!
What a shame Odin not available for this phone in 'one packet option', and what a shame nothing like Nexus Root Toolkit for sgmini
Same problem

Hi, I have the same problem. Can you please send yours zip and instructions? For 5570 Odin not sees my phone and for 5360 See, but I do not know how to enter the pit. With it a little scared. I tried. Zip update, but everything just mods for 5570, which is now reports differently and therefore probably do not install via clockwork.
I play with it all day and google it to me a little laugh .. omg (when you have 20 tabs open and there is a mess).
Problem solved
So we solved the problem with rpaurey successfully. Odin really need to be right on the GT-S5570I and I think "I" even at the end.
Stock rom I had only a little English and other languages, but downloading Czech now. Thanks.
Hello Everyone ....
My kid bought Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830,Somebody told him it has a network lock because it was purchased from neighboring country.
Everything in the phone works fine except the network,it is showing Emergency calls only.
When i put the code *#7465625# it shows everything >{OFF} Including network lock,Does that means my network is not locked ?
We were able to change Android version 2.3.3 to Android version 4.2.1 after rooting from the given thread.
Some thread suggest changing Nv_data.bin and to look for /efs/nv_data.bin, back it up so on and so forth but through my root explorer i couldn't find anything like it.
Anyone, who can suggest something to go on with to make it work like a phone not as a music player ?

UPDATE
PROBLEM SOLVED:
Go to this thread for the solution.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2548453
Hi all,
Since yesterday I've been trying to fix my phone.
It doesn't recognize my SIM card anymore.
I think it's my fault and I'll have to go to the Samsung store but I thought someone here might know a solution.
I'm aware that I did something stupid...
So here's the story:
Yesterday I flashed Cyanogenmod 10.1, I installed some apps and I noticed that already 4GB of the 7,42GB was used.
The apps only took 2 GB of the 4GB. So I went to the CWM recovery, scrolled down to mounts and storage and removed all the storage...
Then I flashed Cyanogenmod again (because everything was removed, OS included). And now my SIM card isn't working in my device anymore.
It's for sure that my SIM card isn't the problem, because when I put my SIM card in my old phone, it will work.
After flashing I got a message of Vodafone, which says that they will send the right settings for my phone to use their network.
But that message never arrived at my phone.. I also tried to manually set up the right ''settings'', but that didn't work.
I have tried anything I could. I thought maybe it will work if I install stock rom, but again, it didn't work for me.
I still think it's a software problem, but it might also be a hardware problem.
It might be useful for you to know that I live in Holland. (maybe things are working different here, idk)...
try this
try this ....
using root explorer or file explorer or what else,
open file "factorymode" in efs/factoryApp directory, it probabely says "off", change to "on" (yes "on" is the correct setting to turn it off), then save
reboot
good luck

If official wirmware won't work, then try this one first, and then flash your official firmware.
Solution: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2548453
The instructions written down below in this thread did NOT work!

try this ....
using root explorer or file explorer or what else,
open file "factorymode" in efs/factoryApp directory, it probabely says "off", change to "on" (yes "on" is the correct setting to turn it off), then save
reboot
good luck

OK, I'll try this. Thank you for your reply!
I'll come with edit if it was successful or not.
About the IMEI, Yes I have it.
Should I do something with it?
UPDATE (I tried the 1st method):
I went to the thread you linked to called ''[HOW-TO] Enable Three Button Combo [RECOVERY]''.
I don't know exactly what it does.
It enables the ''Three Button Combo'', but I thought I already had this.
I did ''Benzonat0r's way'':
1) I flashed it as PDA
2) After flashing my phone rebooted
3) Nothing changed, still no working calls, sms etc.
Now I think you meant the 2nd method.
Should I do the 2nd method, so I'll get ''a "La'Fleur" branded phone''. ?
Is it safe to flash this Russian ROM?
"I8190 серв. укр.rar" is now downloading.
I'll try this now.. Hopefully it will work.
UPDATE:
I have tried the 2nd method now.
I flashed "I8190 серв. укр.rar". (PIT, PDA and CSC).
After that it didn't boot (which is right, because it's ''La Fleur''.)
So I flashed official firmware (dutch).
After my phone rebooted, I could see immediately that it didn't work
It doesn't show the signal.. and it doesn't have signal.
I'm sure that in my region the signal of Vodafone is OK, because when I put my SIM card in my old phone it works..
I'm sure my SIM Card is fine, it must the software of my phone..
It's my fault, I shouldn't have formatted all in ''mounts and storage'' about 4 days ago...
Another isue is the language which was displayed was Russian...
Normally after I flashed official firmware the language was dutch.
What I'm going to do now is again format all in CWM recovery.
If that doesn't work for me, I'll bring my phone to the Samsung store if no other solutions found..
Anyway, thanks for your help.
If you have any other ideas please tell me.
Thanks in advance!
Greetz, Daniel.
Problem Solved 100%.
Solution: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2548453
The instructions written down below in this thread and post did NOT work!
I solved the problem myself:
I formatted again everything on my phone. (in cwm recovery at 'mounts and storage'.
I flashed stock recovery.
I flashed official firmware.
Done.
No more Russian language issue.
This thread can be closed.
The solution was a lot easier than I thought.
I think a ROM bugged my phone after I formatted all.
So as I said, problem solved.
Thank you for the your replies!
Greetz, Daniel!

Ok thx i'll check that out!
Help me guys please.
My Htc one m8 switches off automatically but if i use it while charging then phone doesn't switch off . My battery does show charge and I am able to charge it.
Here's a little background:
I had s-off and unlocked bootloader on my htc m8 (non-hk) running kitkat rom and it was rooted. So in order to update it to marshmallow ,i had flashed the MM Rom everything was fine, then there was a handsfree activation loop so as to remove it I had followed this guide and before deleting the contents of carrier folder,I had made a backup of the carrier in the sdcard (but later found out it was missing). :crying: :crying:
On reboot it showed me some error about wifi calling and I saw that wifi calling option and roaming options were missing. And whenever I clicked on any app,it would switch off but while charging it doesn't.
Also when I insert my sim card ,it will just switch off regardless of whether I'm charging or not.
I guess my battery works fine as I am able to charge it and while on the bootloader it doesn't switch off. I have tried flashing back to stock, flashing a custom rom but nothing works. I dont have a nandroid backup(my mistake) and I have also searched around but the links don't work
So guys please help me if there is a way to fix this . And is it possible to make my root directory back to stock ??

Yes that guide is the one. If u want to upgrade to marshmallow thn just flash the marshmallow firmware first then flash the ruu. And as u have supercid so u can flash either the hk or non hk ruu ...it should be so simple and u can do it just only your phone. No need of a pc or writing commands in adb and all

Moreover if u have any problems like u said it should be gone after flashing the stock mm rom correctly. I guess you messed up something while flashing the ruu. Have uashed the mm firmware prior flashing mm ruu?

Yup bro I did flash the MM firmware first and then the RUU and the flash was done successfully. But things went wrong when I had deleted the contents of the carrier folder (which is located in the root directory) & after that i rebooted my phone.
It showed something about the wifi calling (and later i found that my wifi calling option was no more present) and when i clicked on any app my phone switched off.
Now I am back on stock rom but still the problem persists :crying:
Does flashing firmware or ruu resets the root directory ??

It should. Flash the firmware and ruu again and wipe the previous data. You should be alright

I tried flashing the stock firmware(1.54.651.10) and ruu again but tethering and roaming options are missing. My phone is able to detect the sim card and wifi works fine.
When charger is not connected it boots till the HTC logo and then dies but when I connect the charger it boots normally.
If after the boot i disconnect the charger then the phone stays and doesnot turnoff. But if after that i click an app, it opens it and then shuts down immediately. (No rapid drop in Battery level after reboot).
In short, the shut down problem is still there.
In the meanwhile I performed an OTA update to 2.16.651.4 which added a wifi calling app ( in attachments) I tried clicking it but does nothing.
Bro my final suggestion to you is flash the hk model firmware and hk ruu of marshmallow or smthng from omj's thread. Lemme know if u get those back

Bro,my tethering options were hidden, so there were no tethering options. I found the solution here. But wifi tethering doesn't work(its greyed out).
And I get an option "activate this device" in settings, can you say me how to remove it??(I dont have a sprint sim and I had it sim unlocked)
The screen flickers sometimes,I guess that could be the reason for automatic shutdowns.
(loose connections may be )

Yes u can remove that easily. If u have already rooted then just download an app which can uninstall pre installed apps and then all u have to do is uninstall the crappy sprint apps. If u are not rooted http://www.xda-developers.com/how-to-remove-bloatware-from-your-android-device-xda-tv/ this link. Just connect to a pc and download the bloatware hiding app .connect the phone in usb debugging mode and disable all the sprint apps u find in the list. That activate device will disappear
