Well , the most stable KK and JB rom's are cyanogenmod and omnirom.
When speaking of JB rom's I personally recommend cm10.1 for stability and overall performance.
When talking about KK rom's ..the most stable and probably the only ones are omnirom 4.4.2 and cyanogenmod 11. I can't say which is best because I've only tried cm11 but I've seen a lot of posts saying that omnirom is pretty good aswell. The best way to figure out which one works better for what you want is to try them , even though fast can't really be an attribute for our phones running android 4+. Good luck !

Unless I'm mistaken...
1) Put APK physical on phone
2) Enable "Unknown sources" in Security settings to install APK's from phone
3) use a/the file browser and point to your APK, chose to install it
4) To go Apps in settings, find your installed app and open it
5) Tick on Enable Privacy Guard
Something like this?
** EDIT **
If it's a privacy setting in your MMS.apk -- most likely, since the CM's Privacy will render MMS.apk useless as it won't give access to personal data -- go check that in your app.

As in title, i'm looking for the most stable rom around based on jelly bean and bug-free.
i need something goood, with everything working out-of-the-box; nothing aesthetically special, even a pure google style would be okay (indeed, it'd be much better).
thanks in advance for your kind help!

CM10.1.3 recent RC build (pawitp's thread). Battery life maybe won't be great, but the build is excellent.
Meanwhile CM10.2 works for some people perfectly well (like for myself), but for some others not. It is even faster and gives about double battery life than the CM10.1x
Check threads by the developer pawitp
(if you flash CM10x, pay attention to flash compatible gapps for that android(x) version right after the CM build, it isn't mentioned in the first post anymore for some reson)
thanks for your clear answer, when i'll be ready to change rom i'll follow your suggestions!
Meanwhile, i'd really like to get s3\s4 icons on my gingerbread value pack...can you suggest me a mod for this purpose? i digged through tens of pages here in xda but i didn't find anything for my firmware

There's always launchers and icon packs for them...
As far as I'm aware there's no S3/S4 icon pack for stock roms and the stock launcher alone, however there is a complete S3 theme (it goes beyond the icons and themed everything else) for two GB custom roms out there..

The best thing would be to check it for yourself. Every phone is different, something that behaves well here could work different on your device.
Thanks krzysiekx,
I´ve already tried those three ROM and could not find any differences regarding stability, that´s why i´m asking for other mentions in this thread. Maybe other user have had some differences in stability. But thank you for your answer anyway... :good:

I had CM 10.x on Semaphore 2.7 kernel when I first bought my phone and it was great, everything was smooth and I had no battery problems. Now I installed CM 10.2 last RC version and it was quite battery consuming and laggy on my SGS
No Rom is fully SD stable but i suggest cm10.1 (nearly perfect for me)

Hello everyone
I am looking for a fastest and stable rom with minimal features. I dont require anything fancy. It also does not matter if it is gingerbread or jelly bean, or custom or stock. The only requirement is it should be fast and stable.
Can you please suggest which would be the best rom as I have tried searching the threads but it seems to be a sea of different roms with many technical terms which I dont completely understand.
Currently I am using Remics jellybean.
Thanks and regards
you can try CyanogenMod 10.1 by ADC-Team - Release 8 and K^Kernel 3.4.x OC/EXUV 390MB
Remics is already fast
I have been using the tweaks in this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=46566228#post46566228
The device is fast and stable enough for enjoyable usage.
Also install and use Clean Master ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cleanmaster.mguard ) regularly to cleanup cache and logs and temporary files.
Using Greenify ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.oasisfeng.greenify ) also is great to save memory on background process.

I agree that remics is fast. However I was hoping that there might be a faster rom (because of less minimal features) since I dont require the fancy features of jellybean.

Hello
Is there any link and tutorial to download and install this? Also I didnt understand what you meant by "no selinux active".
CM 10.2 nightly ==> https://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=galaxysmtd&type=
Sema-Kernel ==> http://http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1786220
How you can Flash a kernel like Sema ==> Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQVj-tPDOXo
BigMEM-Libs for Sema-Kernel 3.2.0s ==> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=44495730&postcount=16
Flash via CWM-Recovery
Sine Android 4.3.x SeLinux is an security enhancement...it is activated on "Standard"-CM 10.2 ==> look under Settings ==> About the device at the bottom "SeLinuxStatus" and with Sema-Kernel is gets disbled for more performance - i think ...
Hope i can help you...

Fastest and stable rom with minimal features
CyanAOSP JB 4.3 v1.4.5 [Stable - For Gaming ] or [Team D.I.R.T] Dirty Unicorns 4.3.1
these ROMS are fast..
try the CyanAOSP JB 4.3 if you want minimal features...
Mackey ROM, beast ROM, Slim Bean and Gamerzrom are the light and stable ROMs for gaming and performance
Another way could be freeing your android from any app you do not need ...gives more RAM to your android ...
Very stupid question, I know, but:
I've been googling and searching on this site for 2 days looking for a list of absolutely necessary apps or of the apps that can be unistalled without affecting Basic function: phone, SMS and data tranfer.
Is there a way to uninstall in the Settings/Apps/ the apps for which there is no uninstall Option or this Option is greyed-out?
You would made a great dead and give me more time to Play with my Kids if you could maybe point me to a posting on the Forum where these question were addressed.
Thanx in advance.

I'm looking for ROM without any unnecessary widgets such like weather or other. I wanna basic ROM with excelent performance so I could use smoothly SwiftKey 4, facebook messenger and play music. So far CM 7.1 touchviz v5 was great but something happend and it just slowed down.
Do you know any ROM what can meet my expectations?

I had such as:
- Galaxy S2 ROM
- CM 10.1/7.1/9.2
- JB 4.2
- Apocalypse
- ICE Cream
- KitKat
- Pacman
and few others which I can't remember.
You can try SpaceCaker's AOSP 2.3.7. Very fast but data and mass storage connection to PC not working. Give it a try though

In my opinion, stock GB ROMs are the fastest. CM7.2 is pretty fast as well. Any GB ROM with the right kernel should do
Also, please refrain from making such theads. While it may be a bit different, this is essentially a "Best rom" thread, which are against the rules.

Hi,
Can someone please recommend a stable ROM for the I8190N? It needs to be light, customisable, stable and preferably 4.2.2 or above....
I would really appreciate it if replies address the following:
Please only suggest a ROM if you have had random reboots on another ROM, then flashed a ROM and the random reboots stop....
Already flashed and have had issues with:
CyanogenMod 11.0 (maclaw and AOKP)
CyanogenMod 10.2 (maclaw and OliverG)
Light by somin
Chameleon OS 0.8
Anything "golden"
A deodexed stock ROM and custom kernel would be fine.....
Thanks!!

I meant to say in my OP that Dmodv6 was excellent - started flashing others because I'm a serial flasher (have four android devices) and wanted a newer android version.... if you kitkat Dmod, I'll consider you a living god!!
I've got stock AMJ2 from sammobile and plan to deodex, root and de-bloat.
The stock rooted XXAMJ3 - isn't for the 8190N - would I expect issues if i flashed it? Ignore me, i know it would NOT be a good idea!

if you flash somin ROM, search baseband xxam... and kernel xxam... on the forum and flash it.

Well, that depends on which governor you used and how many apps which sync every minute you had.
Luckily on custom roms you can change the governor.
You can change the behaviour or disable background processes as well. (I recommend the application ''Greenify'' for that).
If I didn't convince you now I'm afraid I have to tell you that there are no stable custom roms except stock based..
Hi there.
I been spending several hours reading user's opinions about several roms for the xsp.
I saw plenty of unofficial roms based on cyanogenmod official roms. And the question that pops into my mind it's.
Why so many mods? People doesn't like the official releases?
Also I been reading that 5.1 roms are laggy, and in a custom rom i'm looking for stability and performance.
Maybe I should go for and official cyanogenmod 11 rom?
Maybe for a stock based rom?
What do you think?
Hello.
Yes, there is a lot of rom for SP. But just a few work as it supposed to.
Lollipop it is in his nightly stage, though is very stable and the most recent apps, you will be able to use.
There is too a recent patch for security, we should take in consideration, Im using myself as a daily driver without problems, nevertheless still have some minor bugs, but nothing that cant make you wish to throw your SP on wall
If you want to test and see how looks like, I would recommend Sabermod Unofficial Or CM 12.1 Official Nightly
cm12.1+ addons imo cuz it's my second full month on it and it never failed me ....no problems for me and great performance

battery is good too yep
Go for CyanogenMod 12.1 nightlies with addons...Its Best for lollipop based ROMs.
You can try unofficial CM13 also if you can use the phone without camera. Battery life and performance of CM13 is far better than cm 12.1.
To be honest, is a matter of usage and preference. For me it was working fine but my phone got way too hot for my taste, but the deal breaker was that no matter what lolipop ROM I used facebook HD playback was choppy as hell. I know that it sounds silly but that's something that I need. None of these issues exist on stock, of course (C5306 - 1.205)
I think the Sabermod unofficial takes the lead on cm12.1 ... Great battery and butter smooth. I think it' s the for performance and battery !
I use official CM11 slimmed by me, without gapps, disabled LogCat, little modified build.prop + WilliamsPLUS and I'm really happy ; p
which 5.1 rom has fewer lag and more batterylife?
@beodo
A sea of roms but many of them are discontinued or not updated, so first check that one.
As fellow members said CyanogenMod 12.1 Unofficial SaberMod with add ons is the best right now for me as well, very fast, really fluid, stable and good battery life, in is some parts is even better than the latest official stock rom.
I m using this rom for over a month and i love it.
If you need even better battery life you could use Helium kernel (just dirty flash at recovery) and enable conservative governor, if you would like to take it further you can also install xposed framework which unlocks you much more features like power saving better experience, extra customization and more.
All of the above are continuously updated and supported by our great developers too :good:

The above answers you question as well
