Hello everybody,
I have a weird problem with my z1. I bought it a few days ago. Now everytime when I'm typing with feedback, the phone just stops vibrating until I tap de backside of the it. Then it vibrates again for a few words, and it just stops again until I tap it again. Everything stops vibrating, even notifications. It's very weird because I hardly touch the phone when typing, so I can't imagine that the hardware moves. I also don't want to disassamble the phone to check, because I'm afraid it won't be waterproof anymore. When it won't vibrate, I also can't use the hardware camera button. Anyone else with this problem?

I would still contact Sony. If Sony replies and said is out of warranty then you don't have to send it in. It doesn't hurt to try and contact them. They might still think the phone is in warranty just choose the words carefully when you talk to them.

I had this on a Z1 compact. Didn't know it could happen on the Z1 too. Was easy to recreate on the Z1C by typing in landscape mode. It never happened in portrait.
Anyway, I swapped it for a Z1 under warranty from the shop (did a warranty return and refund, then got a Z1 instead)

Hi
Quick question. I don't know if anyone experienced that with Xperia T. I seem to have the same problem with it as with previous X8 and X10. Screen stays blank after switching on. Just backlight comes on but nothing else. Touch panel still responds as it should but no information visible phone is kinda useless. Just wondered if anyone knows how to fix this. Would it be hardware problem which seems to be going on for quite a while then in sonys mobiles or is it just software glitch? I would buy new screen but not sure if this will fix it.
Phone is updated to latest available firmaware. Done it yesterday with SUS.
Thanks

PC companion stops half way through the process. I've used the other standalone sonys update service to upgrade the phone which has done it no problem but still nothing visible on screen. Only brightens up slightly when switched on but nothing whatsoever visible.

Hi
Sorry, forgot to add earlier. No, nothing was done. No bootloader unlocking, no rooting, no other flashing. It just happened when I switched it on couple of days ago. I did have same/similar problem with X10 some time ago but along with just backlight on the screen (nothing else) but phone was in boot loop at the same time. This one just stays on for whatever time you want it and you can hear sounds and feel vibrating when using touch panel. Just trying to determine if it's something simple like faulty lcd (not cheap at all thoguh) or even if I splash out for a new lcd it will not help.
If you have not flashed anything, take it back to the shop for a new one

Hi
Yes I did. Fitted new screen! Only £160 pretty much the same as new phone now.
Was your phone damaged in any way (spilled water on it, dropped it)?

No man, she just was charging it up, then she plugged it out, and after that it was working but with the screen off , so is it a hardware problem and not software problem?

In my case was hardware. In yours might be not. I'm not that much of an expert so my only suggestion would be to do hard reset. Did you try that? Hold power button for about 15-20 sec.

Like title, anyone having similar situation like that ??? 3 normal headset has been tested, basically the phone has something to do with that. Did factory reset and all stuff, nothing works.
There were lots of people suffering that with the same pattern as mine with just left earplug

Last option is to send the phone toward service, i really want to avoid that since i won't be in Australia for a while.

I had this happen to me.
I tried with two different headsets.
Turns out both headsets were broken and the phone was fine.
Maybe that's the case for you too.
Did you try a bluetooth handset? Anyway I know you are in complicated situation but in this case the best thing is send it back to repair via warranty.

I wouldn't be that sure.. I had the same problem, left audio channel didn't work in headphones. I tried 3 different headsets. That problem was in the phone. I've sent it to a repair centre and they replaced my while unit because they couldn't fix the issue. So I would send it in for repair with this problem. I know I did and got a replacement phone.
3 handset and all the same problem? 100% faulty device or jack, send it back to repair.

Could be, though i had this issue before with different devices and its always the headset
Of course i guess you can't discard the phone as a culprit
Maybe you should find a way to verify it for free before sending it in for repairs

Watch out with sticking a needle in the headphone jack! There's some special coating in it to make it waterproof! I guess that a needle can make destroy this coating!

Not entirely too late, at least it helped me.
Been trying to find a solution for this same problem and was beginning to think a repair was needed.
Just to confirm...with a needle, after clearing out a clump of fluff sound now plays through both earphones of the 5 different headsets that wouldn't work before.
For anyone else trying to fix this problem either now or in the future, its at least worth a try.
Thanks rvzek
I've noticed that my left earplug have lower volume than the right one. Did someone had this problem?
I cannot remember what caused this, but it's only on the Sony headset and not other. Others are working fine.

Check if pressing around earpiece affects its function... If so, your connectors of internal speaker loose connection to the motherboard. Had the same problem, and opened the phone today, pulled the connectors out a bit and it works perfectly now.. But still trying to figure out how to put the back cover again.. So I suggest you try all the other options you may have before doing this..

Hi. Well if you have the same problem when pressing around earpiece then its hardware issue and you will have to open the phone...
I'm still waiting for my flex cable for power button, so I just heated the back cover and put it back. It holds, but it's not waterproof anymore... When I'm done fixing it, then I will seal it with some glue or similar. But I saw on ebay that they offer brand new adhesives for XZ, just like original... But personally, I don't trust those...
I have the same problem... Its scares me is it normal? Or its half-damaged?
Adhesive from ebay holds very well, surley better than the one you take off and put it on again. Here is the link:

Hi guys
I have recently acquired a Nexus 6 and therefore do not know its history...
When I turn it on, the Google logo appears but half of the screen is corrupt.
That "corruption" then disappears downwards and the four balls appear. The phone then appears to restart. The device is recognised in Device Manager as 'MTP Device'.
I have attached two images to illustrate the problem.
Is this a faulty motherboard?
Yes, we believe so.

I suspect the warranty is void as the phone has clealry been opened before I acquired it. I know a new screen was fitted at some point and the power/volume buttons are missing.

Not sure.. Usual online auctions I suppose. I'm not sure whether it's worth it though, unless you can get one really cheap.

Did you pay with a creditcard? You can file a claim with them if the product isn`t as it was pictured by the seller or is faulty and request a refund.
