Camera App is not Full Screen - LG G Flex

My Camera App stopped working in Full Screen and now I get a black bar on the top and to the right of the app. There is also now a small camera icon with a number beside it in the top block bar. Anyone else seen this issue? Did a Factory Reset and it did not resolve. Thanks
Solved this issue by doing a return to stock. Now to see if it comes back when I re-Root.

You sure you're not just using it in the full 13mp mode? That should be happening if you're using the camera at full resolution.

It didn't matter the mode or if I did a factory reset. The 13mp mode looked different than the issue I was having. The only thing I think it might have been was changing my dpi settings, but don't want to try it again. A stock restore fixed it and then I rooted it again.

Ignore the my comment about the number counter

It was definitely the dpi. I had the same thing happen to me. The bars get smaller with the increase of the dpi but 320 and up seems to be the only way to get rid of it.

Next time just mention you had changed the DPI. Without knowing what you did, its tough for people to accurately tell you what you messed up

Use xposed module called App Settings. Lets u set different DPI for any app. Thats what i have running, and my camera looks normal...

Screen Dimension error (solved, thanks)

let me cut straight to the point. I use a Nexus One stock 2.2 ROM.
For some reason, my screen dimension changed.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11834745/screendimensionerror.jpg
This link shows the app GPS Status and it used to be full screen but for some reasons (maybe I did something but i dont know what happened exactly) now it occupies only half of the screen. I tried to uninstal and reinstall and it still remains the same. I tried to rotate screen and move back and still the same.
Actually a couple of games it shows the same problem such as the objects in the screen got smaller as if it is not 800 x 480 anymore.
It seems like the dimension of the screen changed or something.
Can anyone please help me if you know how can I fix it? Please.
Or else I will have to spend hours to do a hard reset and rework everything.
Did you make any modifications to build.prop file?

across a few forums, you are the only one who tried to help.
thanks.
problem has been solved.
GPS status developer went right through the problem and diagnosed that I played around with "Spare parts" 's compatibility mode.
Now everything is fine.
thanks a lot again.
Damn, sorry, I forgot about this option. I knew it affects widgets, but I didn't know it affected programs as well.
Glad you had it solved.

auto rotation not working now...

On ultimate captivate rom with jk4 modem and gb's 11811 kernel. All of the sudden the phone froze. Did a 3 button hard reset to boot back up. Everything was fine except for a big problem. The auto rotation doesn't work anymore. Disabled/re enabled in settings. Rebooted. Help please!?

Sounds like a bad flash to me. If it were my device, I would flash stock, master clear, and install the ROM fresh and clean. If the problem recurs, I would re-download the ROM zip. And flash clean again as above.
I had to do all of that on my last flash due to a partially unhappy zip.
When you say that Auto-Rotation isn't working you talking about in any app/location? Or just the home screen?
On some of the Rom's the Home Screen doesn't rotate into landscape mode.
Just an FYI

It doesn't work in any app. Unchecking the box in settings and re checking it doesn't help either. Nothing workS. Maps, browser, youtube etc. It was working on this rom for a month and now it all of the sudden isn't. I'm going to flash to stock to see if its hardware related

Just a heads up: I had to flash over again due to a bad kernel flash. My home screen would not rotate. Through my own trial and error I found that when using Launcher Pro as my default launcher, my home screen rotates. I have been using Launcher Pro for so long I just assumed that it rotated with the stock launcher. This my be your case.
Do you use Screeble?
I've had the rotate problem on multiple roms. I have been using Screeble, and have become suspicious of it.
I am currently on Serindipity 3.5.2 ever since it cfame out. AT that time I stopped using Screeble. It has been good ever since.
I just installed Screeble. If it is Screeble causing my issues, I suspect it will return within a week.
The only way I've been able to fix it is with a fresh flash. That has fixed it every time.
I'll post back if I find it comes back. I'll watch here...interested if you use Screeble or not.

Well...tell you the truth...i have no clue what that is...so id have to say ....no...
Not sure what to tell you then.
I have already taken Screeble off my phone. It was acting up, and I didn't want to chance it making me need to reflash.
Of course, I'm not even sure that app is causing any problem with auto rotate.
If your continues to act up, it'll be interesting to see if it starts working after a fresh re-flash.
Sorry I don't have anything else to offer.

Front Camera Problems

I just got my Bionic last night and I was going through the camera functions. I was trying to use the Front Camera but the camera app closed. When I tried to start the app again it gave me a notification stating that the "Camera failed to initilize" and then close again. The only way to get the camera back operational is to reboot the phone.
Has anyone had this problem? I did root the phone and then un-rooted if that makes a difference. What I would like to know if you have rooted your phone does you front camera still operated like it does?
Any information on this would be awesome.
How do you use the front camera anyway?

@exdox77: I'm rooted on my Bionic and I just went through and used the front camera to take self portraits... I've noticed that every Droid has issues with apps from time to time... Usually for me, rebooting fixes the issue... Reguardless of whether I should have to do so to fix it or not, I still love this phone and all of the power it has.
I was just testing out the function of the camera. I went to switch to the front camera within the camera app and just closed and it wont let me back in until and reboot is completed.
I just didnt want to know that it was something I did or not. I even tried to do and factory reset and it did not solve the problem either. Not sure what else there is to do at this point.
@7olycon7: When in camera mode, there's a button that looks like an arrow circling the camera just above the take picture button on the right side of the screen. It takes a moment once you press it, but it switches to the front camera.
that button just closes the camera app. when i launch the app again it tells me "camera unable to initialize"

Open the camera app and right above the shutter icon there is a camera icon with an arrow. Press that and it switches over to the front facing camera.
this is the button that causing the camera to malfunction. I am thinking it is a hardware problem rather than a software problem.
I don't kn ow what to say then. That's the button that switches to my front facing camera on my Bionic. Maybe you should be taking yer bionic back and telling them it has issues, or you need to factory reset it because you did something to it that it didn't like.
I think I will be. Well if you think of anything let me know.
Here ya go... Try going in and clearing the cache in the camera app or clearing out the data. The switching to the ffc was a huge issue on the Thunderbolt too and that was the solution to fixing it.
Here's the link to the thread if you want.
http://forums.androidcentral.com/ve...s/69516-swithcing-ffc-crashes-camera-app.html
I wish it was that. I did this before and after the factory reset and every time i choose ffc button it closes the app. then I am unable to get back into the app until a full reboot is completed. I cant even use the back camera or camcorder right now until i reboot the phone.
I just wanted to let everyone know that I had my Bionic replaced because Verizon could not firgure out why it wasn't working. I tried everything including wiping the device.
The only thing I could think of is that when I rooted it it caused something to happen. Has anyone else had this problem after rooting their device?
having the exact same problem, started after root.. sounds like the most likely cause is root.. damn i was hoping it would be a more simple solution gl to everyone else going thru this

I am rooted and am not having any issues with the ffc. I don't think root would affect this.
I didn't think so either but I am just afriad to re-root just in case it happens again. I can wait for a true root process for the Bionic.
So finally the ffc started working properly in the camera app, but once i tried to gtlk the same ffc problem happens again(was working for a few hours before i tried gtlk).

[Q] gyroscope

Been looking all day, and can't find an answer. I've been trying to calibrate my gyroscope through GPS status, and a few other programs. Also tried doing it through *#0*#, and waving the phone in figure eights. It will calibrate just fine, but when I reboot the settings go away. Anyone have any idea how to fix it?
if your gyroscope is that far out of wack that you need to calibrate it, i think you need a new device.
I honestly don't think I need a new device. When it was stock it worked fine. But I'm on MLG deodex ROM now and that's where the problem started. I even tried nc2 international and dynamic but those all have the same issue for me. My screen rotation works fine. Maybe I meant to say compass not gyro. Not sure if they are one and the same. But when I use a compass app I have to do the figure 8 to calibrate it then if I reboot it resets it back to being all wonky. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Mine has never worked correctly from the beginning. It's a note 3 hardware issue. Replacement phone won't help. Here's a screen shot, just to make sure this is what your talking about. In the picture I'm not facing the direction it says.

Have you tried calibrating yours at all though? Try the swinging your phone in a figure 8 for a few seconds, then check it. If it works, try a reboot and see if yours sticks or goes wonky again.

Ya I've tried. Even went in the service menu and got the green line aligned and setup. But just like you, after a reboot is over.

Well at least I know in not alone. Thanks bud.
definitely not alone on this lol. I have done the same things with exactly the same results you describe.

Problem with screen or App

I been trying to figure out if the app is glitchy or the phone is having intermittent problems. I was able to screen capture what I saw. So If anyone can advise anything that be great before I consider making a repair request from Motorola.
Thank You.
Can't tell if we don't know what app you were using or what you were doing when it happened.
If the entire screen was unresponsive and fuzzy I'd say hardware but if it's just the background and not the call notification I'd guess software. Factory reset.
Well when I first got the phone, the bottom navigation bar would flicker while scrolling in chrome browser. Now I get weird distortion on the eBay app. It seems intermittent.
I am sure this is a software bug. I have seen it a few times on 5.0 I never seen this on 4.4.4
Anyhow if it were the screen you wouldn't have been able to capture it on a screen shot

Didn't think about this. He's right. If the screen was the problem the screenshot would look fine.
Good point. Perhaps it is the lollipop bug. That's good to know. Can't wait till 5.1 comes out then . Thank you guys for your replies.
I don't know... I had same problem with one app.. Just one app.. It's a wallpaper app.. Getting rid of the app solved me the problems..
